We would always stop at this establishment every time we made a trip up the mountain but I'm officially done with that after my last trip there back in January of '26. We stopped to get a few drinks, snacks and souvenirs for our out of town guests. I asked for a receipt for my purchased items and discovered that I was overcharged for an item. I brought it to the cashier's attention when another employee (young guy) who overheard my issue defended the price that I was charged. When I challenged him to come look at the posted price of the item, he insisted that I was incorrect. DONE... WE WILL NEVER COME BACK OR PROMOTE THIS BUSINESS!! read more

I neglected to take any pictures but I did buy two lbs of fudge ( to share !) and had a good time wandering around this little store . Lots of cute souvenirs/ mountain themed things for adults and kids, also good selection of groceries/alcohol/ camping supplies and/or anything you may have forgotten to bring or could need on a mountain. Staff friendly and helpful, especially since I was in on a crowded Saturday. Definitely don't miss the fudge! Great selection of flavors! Creamy and delicious, possibly the best souvenir even if it won't last very long ;) Plenty of parking and the value on everything is good considering you are on a mountain lol. Crazy cool little store up in Somerville on the top of Mount lemon it had a little bit of everything you would need for the town of course at a jacked up price. There was hardly anybody in there so the service was immediate. I just got a cup of coffee everything else was so expensive. I didn't wanna waste my money But supplying demand being what it is they have a corner on the market so they can charge whatever the hell they want and people will have to pay. It was an amazing store. I had all kinds of cool little swag, trinkets, and playing cards with eagles on them. read more

My first time at mount Lemmon so I walked in to this store to buy a souvenir magnet! They had a lovely variety of magnets. The store was extremely crowded but I got to know why when I walked up to the counter to pay for the magnet I saw their fudge display and the majority of the crowd waiting in line to place an order for fudge. I tasted around 2 (raspberry chocolate and heath English toffee) of them and I loved them!! Absolutely fresh so I had to pick both the flavors I tried. I stopped there Orelse I would end up picking more :D If I'm the area, I will definitely return for more fudge. Parking can be an issue as there is limited parking space and there are a few folks that don't think before they park due to which getting out can be a task once you have parked. read more

They do not follow ADA laws regarding service dogs. The ADA law states that a service dog does not have to be identified by wearing a vest. When I entered the store, the young man informed me that only service dogs were allowed. I explained that my dog is a service dog. He was quite rude and told me a vest is required and I was not allowed in. I calmly told him I would leave but that he should know he was violating the ADA law and discriminating against me because of my disability. He ignored me. I have filed a complaint with the US Department of Justice and this review is purely for awareness. read more

Fresh fudge.... Mmm yummy. When I was looking for information on Mt Lemon, google search led me to this store and I had to try their famous fudge. Staff working behind the counter was very nice and friendly. I couldn't quite decide which flavor I wanted and she let me sample a couple of them until I found what I wanted. They also sell hot chocolate and French vanilla coffee, enjoy a hot drink at the bench outside or a picnic table nearby. They sell all kinds of AZ souvenirs here. Good place to stop by to bring something AZ home. No public restrooms available here but there are at across the street. read more

The road from Tucson to Summerhaven was finally open so I decided to go visit some business and support their efforts during this Covid-19 time. Yes, you do have to stay on the road pavement, absolutely no trails are open and so birding is done from the roadside. I was okay with that and did see some interesting birds. It is evident where the fire seemed to jump the road and guardrails were smashed, but work is being done to have the road more than safe. Loved the fudge at the store and I bought some books too. People are wearing masks and keeping physically distanced in all areas. A couple of other businesses are open for take out. read more

This little store is worth a stop into when you're on Mt. Lemmon. They have a range of souvenirs and also delicious home made fudge! The groceries are marked up pretty high, understandably so. We were up for a weekend stay and the General store came in handy for some s'more sticks we had forgotten to pack. They have a good variety of basic dairy and nonperishables, and some meats if you need something in a pinch. read more

Visited here over the 4th of July weekend for the sole purpose of trying their fudge. Was delighted to find that they also carry local preserves and honey. When I went to purchase a pound of one of their fudge flavors, the young lady waiting on me exclaimed, "A whole pound?" Luckily there were no other customers at the time, but everyone behind the counter turned to stare at me. Please tell your employees, that it is NOT unusual for someone on vacation to buy a local product to take it home and often share it with others. I mean, did she think I was going to sit in my car and eat all the fudge at one go? Regardless, at NO time should they EVER embarrass a customer. BTW, the fudge is wonderful, so if you can handle criticism of your purchase, drop in and buy some. read more

I come here for the fudge! It's good. They sale it by the quarter, pound. A bit pricey, but it works. It's a gift shop with little trinkets and souvenirs, a bit overpriced, but that's expected. Where do I start? The Mt. Lemmon General Store is wonderful, they carry a variety of gifts, souvenirs, food and other necessities you may need during your visit or stay on Mt. Lemmon. The fudge is the amazing! So many flavors to choose from and seasonal favorites like Pumpkin Praline and Pumpkin Pecan. There is ample parking for their customers. The staff and the owners are very friendly, professional and helpful. This is a must for your next visit to the mountain, you won't be disappointed. I can't wait to go back. read more

Owner verbally assaulted me and vandalized my car Was my first time up Mt Lemmon. Parked at this store bought $15 worth of fudge and drinks and decided to go for a walk. When I came back I noticed a large metal sign leaning on top of my 100K car. It left some hair line scuffs (vandalism). I paid via apple pay so I knew exactly how long I took (36 minutes). It was 11:15am and there was plenty of parking both in the convenience store lot and across the street. I took the sign off my car walked it back to the store placed it on the ground and the owner came out and confronted me. I said I went for a 40 min walk and its not that serious. He replied saying its his business and as I was walking back to my car he continued to follow me in a threatening manner and verbally assaulted me, I don't want to repeat what he said here. Mind you I was walking back to my car and did not do anything to antagonize him. All I did was pay him $15 business and went for a 36 min walk, this did not deserve getting verbally assaulted and having my car vandalized. I have pictures and I am contemplating pressing charges. Please stay away from this business. read more

You were so kind to us, and we wound up staying the night because the tow truck would not come up at night. You are one in a million. FYI, this place has great fudge and if you forgot your gloves or a hat, grab them here. We also grabbed some adorable long sleeve shirts to keep bundled. They were reasonable, given that it can be expensive in a town like this, and just a lovely place with a kind staff. Be good to them. Nice place to stop when in Summerhaven at the peak of Mt. Lemmon. This is one of the only stores, and it has some basics you might expect at a CVS / Walgreens but this place is known for its fudge counter. Lots of Mt. Lemmon / Arizona souvenirs, too. read more

You had me at fudge. Lol. In all seriousness, the fudge was the sole reason we stopped in, and I'm glad we did. This little cabin and its surroundings are quaint and picturesque. If you're anything like me, you'll want to take a few photos by the babbling creek running alongside it or snap a selfie with its rustic log cabin exterior as your background. I love aesthetics, so this was an A+ for me. Inside, other than delicious fudge, you'll find your regular convenience-store fare alongside some touristy tchotchkes that are sure to amuse. From a giant plush Smoky the Bear to wooden keychains that can be engraved for you, this little corner store is a pleasant stop while you're visiting the village of Summerhaven. Well, this is the only general store up on Mt. Lemmon. Some of the stuff here is a little pricey, but there is a really good assortment of local and Arizona-themed gift and souvenir items. There is also homemade fudge sold here as well. There are plenty of cheaper places to get gifts in Arizona, but keep in mind that there are not much options on Mt. Lemmon so the location and convenience justify the prices. read more

This little shop is a real treasure to find on the mountain. I have not been to Summerhaven in a long time so I was surprised to see how much it has grown and that this store was here. It is a cute little general store, having small amounts of staples for people living/camping on the mountain who do not have time to leave the mountain (which is at least a two hour drive) as well as some knick knack kind of items. They have taken the time to find the souvenirs for the area as well, i.e. shirts, key chains, snow globes, etc. The fudge they sold there was also really good. The staff was also super friendly. I will say that for a picturesque little town in the mountain, this store matches the ideal extremely well and completes the small town mountain retreat Summerhaven is aiming to achieve. read more

Me in my wife were in disbelief after going into this place. First off we had a brand new 8 week old puppy that I was carrying everywhere. It was a hot pretty warm day and out puppy was tiny so I carried her everywhere that we were exploring. When we went in the gift shop me and my wife both had several items that we picked up and we're going to buy. Then this snobby girl probably in her early 20's or so came up to us and sassily asked "is that thing a service animal?" I replied "no it's 8 weeks old" then she told us we needed to leave the store. Me and my wife were in such shock we looked at each other set all of the items we were going to purchase down on the counter and we left. There was some cool Mt Lemmon trinkets we wanted but we're definitely not buying them from this establishment. I realize that this was probably not on the establishment and probably more so on the snobby girl they decided to hire but we won't be coming back after that. read more

Cute little store selling locally produced goods. We walked out with a jar of lovely candied jalapenos and a pound of fudge. The fudge was creamy smooth, with a plethora of options. I opted for the mint chocolate, chocolate peanut butter, cappuccino, and pistachio. The latter two were my favorites. The candied jalapenos were more like very sweet pickled jalapenos and were excellent on sandwiches we ate later as an extra sweet spicy kick. read more

Holy FUDGE this place has great fudge. There may be other reasons to go to the Mt Lemmon General Store. I think they sell water and gifts and whatnot. I've never bothered with anything other then the fudge. Is it pricey? Yup, everything in Summerhaven is, which is pretty standard for smaller towns on the top of mountains. Is it delicious? Every kind I have tried has been. Rocky Road is my favorite. The chocolate raspberry is mighty delicious as well. A trip to the top of Mt Lemmon is simply much much sweeter if you stop and get a little fudge. read more

If there's a better way to celebrate being on top of a mountain than buying fudge & overpriced souvenirs & general grocery items, I'd sure like to hear it. (Jumping off the mountain doesn't count, though I imagine it'd be cheaper.) My best friend was visiting for the week, & we all went up Mt. Lemmon one afternoon. Unfortunately, most of the stores were closed when we got to Summerhaven. The only store open was the General Store. We hung out for a few minutes & bought a few items, including a metric freakin' ton of fudge. While the fudge wasn't awful by any means, I don't think it was anything special, either. It was average, & I came nowhere near eating all of it. The guy also seemed a little grumpy that day... either that, or he was having none of my perkiness. :P read more

Fudge is top notch and that is pretty much the reason we ended up here before heading downhill. Try the Vanilla Walnut, it wasn't too sweet and had full walnuts inside. The Rocky Road wasn't bad either. We picked up some magnets as a memory, but they have all the usual tourist trinkets. They also take your ATM card, unlike at the ski slope. read more

Mt Lemmon General Store is really a godsend to the area that suffered so much devastation from the fires in 2003. It certainly stands center stage in the redevelopment of the area. In my case it was the only place open one friday morning at 10:00 am. You can talk about the Cafe that serves the wonderful pies -- and you can talk about the Cookie Cabin-- but for the most bang for the buck, I really am thankful the general store is still hanging on. I was hankering for a little nutrition after the nice drive up and all the other businesses were closed. Not too many cars or people in sight to care. What is one to do? Well hang out on the general store's nice porch, watch the hummingbirds flying around, enjoy some nice fresh air and when the doors open-- go for the fresh fudge. Like the program "Arizona Highways" has mentioned before it all comes down the amazing varieties of fudge. We sampled chocolate mint and peanut butter/chocolate....delish. If you happen to want other things such as souvenirs, geodes, frozen white castle burgers, or dream catchers they have those too. read more

The five-star review is based on their amazing FUDGE. Here you will find your favorite ice cream, popsicle, pudding, or cappuccino in solidified cube form. As soon you take a bite, it quickly transforms into a creamy, perfectly smooth liquid state, washing well-crafted waves of flavor over your palate. The taste of sugar is subtle in comparison to the flavor of the fudge. I was most impressed by the cappuccino fudge; it had a dusting of nutmeg powder on top, which was the perfect finishing touch. Each flavor is sold in multiples of a quarter pound, so don't expect to be able to buy a single serving. However, they give you mini knives to cut the fudge into smaller pieces to trade ("share" is too unstructured and careless when dealing with this fudge) with family or friends. I will be back on subsequent hikes to try the raspberry, vanilla-orange, and pistachio flavors! read more
