Emily is nothing short of amazing! She is so patient and is so intuitive in ways of improving form and bonding with the horse. The facility isn't too far from everything, just time enough for a few errands. The horses mostly seem to be off track racers in great health with good dispositions. I would love to live in this area, so peaceful!

Hello all! I just wanted to tell you about a wonderful experience here today. I called ahead of time to ask if they had any horse poop that they could either sell me or give it to me for free. The girl on the phone was extremely friendly and advised me that YES we could come during opening hours. We drove down there and found a lovely place! They have many horses that they do boarder care for and the horses are beautiful and well taken care of. They have a volunteer program for people to come down and brush the horses and if you are knowledgeable maybe even turn them out (Take them to the coral and walk them out for exercise). Athena was the first impression of this establishment. I advised her that we were there to get Poop. She giggled and then directed us toward where we should go. Athena changed her mind and walked us over to where it was. That was nice because it was a little bit far away. While we were walking we asked if there were a possibility of the Grand babies petting a horse. She said "Absolutely" and walked us over to Her horse and allowed the babies to pet her horse. My Grands were so excited and afraid at the same time that they might have pooped on themselves. The horses were clearly very happy here. Prior to leaving a customer name Emily (At least that is what I think her name was) started chatting us up. She advised us of the different programs that they have here including the volunteer stuff I mentioned above. Including riding lessons and teenage volunteers. Turns out that the great customer service girl was only 14 years old. AMAZING! If you have a horse that needs to be boarded this is a great place for you. I also learned about another amazing experience. Did you know that you can lease a horse? IE: If a person boards their horse there and are unable to brush or walk their horses frequently you can lease them. According to my understanding it is an individual contract with the owners of the horse. You go and brush, groom (if you have the skill) and ride the horse along with possible re-shoeing fees and pay a monthly fee toward their boarding to have an unmentioned un-contractual ownership of the horse. I will be coming back to volunteer to help take care of them just because I have already found a kinship with several of the horses. Funny how animals make you fall in love at first sight! I want my grands to take lessons and I will update you on that part later. PS: I love this place!

Great facility. I will definitely be back there looking to board my horses if I'm down in the area.

They got a new sign, watered the grass and addressed a few other "first impression" things so it looks prettier from the street. They haven't bothered to fix important things like replacing the old corroded connections that spontaneously break off of the automatic waterers, fixing broken welds in corrals or other sharp edges, or clean up the areas people actually need to use. Also: No manager. No night checks. No fly control. No manure removal and a pile the size of a small mountain that regularly catches FIRE in hot weather. No dust control and major dust issues/no bagged shavings - sawdust. Piles of junk everywhere. Gross, leaning porta-potties. Giant holes in the corrals and horses stand in inches of mud after a rain. Scary barn wiring (cobweb covered exposed wires, extension cords everywhere, noises coming from breaker box). A tree fell on a corral and killed a horse; there are still giant tree limbs over corrals. No feeding schedule - odd times and odd amounts, and sometimes forgotten or skipped. People get kicked out if they complain. It's sad because the property has great potential, but for the same price (or less) you can do way better in East County.

I was originally only going to be here for a couple of yrs. Now I can't imagine boarding anywhere else.

It is clear the entire team cares for the horses' well being. I travel often for my job and I don't have any concerns or hesitations that my horse isn't being taken care of while I'm gone. Tobey is very communicative and accommodating. A few months ago a larger stall opened up and it was an easy transition to the new stall. Since I've been boarding here, a few renovations and updates to the property have taken place, leaving the ranch one step closer to Tobey's vision for the space. I have spent the most time with Nyna between lessons, trail time and just running into her while at the barn. She is the life force of the ranch and keeps feedings, stall cleanings, lessons, farrier and vet appointments organized. She has spent a lot of time with my horse during lessons and turn out time. I can't see me or my horse boarding anywhere else. Thank you Olivewood Acres!

Tobey is an amazing facility owner; always looking for ways to improve the facility and make the property better for the horses. And Nyna, who takes care of many of the senior horses, loves them as if they were her own. She went to check on one of my boys later in the evening, and thanks to her observation and gut instinct, she noticed my 30 year old was not doing well. She called me and the vet, and thanks to her diligence, he was able to get the best possible care and endured the least amount of suffering. She even stayed by my side the whole time, along with Tobey coming out to check on us. I can't thank Olivewood enough for all they have done for my retired boys.

When I stumbled upon Linda's facility, I knew it was perfect and when there was finally an opening I was elated! The facility has much of what you could ask for. It's one of the few pasture options in North County San Diego, has a small/large arena option, individual pastures with covered stalls for when it rains, tack rooms, wash racks, etc. and they are able to cater services to exactly what your horse needs! It was perfect for us and I am so relieved I can retire my horse and still see her often. Since boarding my horse there for the past year, she has had a few health issues, which Linda and her staff have gladly helped accommodate giving medications, monitoring her progress, and even assisting with moving to a dry lot pasture as she could no longer handle the grass. I can tell all the staff truly care for my horse and want to ensure she is healthy and happy, which is worth more than anything, especially since I don't see her everyday.
