Bastet scheduler confirmed the appointment for the vaccine. At the appointment, a brief 5min exam was completed by the vet before the vet tech administered the vaccine. I had NO knowledge that I'd be paying an additional $70 for this measly 5min exam that was not even medically necessary given the physical my cat had just days prior. The vet tech comes into the room with a form asking for my signature before he administered the vaccine; it ended up being the bill for the visit which was odd that it was presented in the middle of the visit. I felt cheated, especially since the reason why I went to this clinic in the first place was for their cheaper cash-only vaccines on Saturdays. Money is tight and I ended up paying way more than anticipated due to Bastet's total lack of transparency from the beginning. I later called a manager about my experience and she was incredibly rude and simply did not care to offer any sort of remedy. Yes, the actual veterinarian was a nice person, but other than that, an incredibly shady way to run a business. There are better, more transparent vet clinics in this area, I can assure you.

I was an emotional mess and every single staff member made it the best experience it could possibly have been. Let's just start with communication... never once did I have to call and check the status of our girl. The vet techs send pictures and updates several times a day... I received a good night pic and text nightly and a morning update on how she did through the night. Dr. Hample is an amazing surgeon that exudes love for her profession. She called every day and every time she shared the progress of Jewels, I knew we made the right choice and she was in the safest care. Dr. Johnson also exudes love and compassion for his patients and their parents. A very kind gentle man that offered much assurance while I sobbed confirming she had do have a very intense surgery. He celebrated in her recovery and let her give him as many kisses as she felt necessary. All in all I really cannot say enough good things about this team. The caring culture exudes through every team member. Bonus... their prices are the best as is their team. Jewels is fully recovered and back to her boisterous and loving little self.

The clinic is in an unassuming storefront in a strip mall. Inside, it's bustling and cheerful. The front-desk lady who greeted us (and was also our vet tech) was very nice. We were seen quite promptly, and the tech did a thorough and gentle exam on both kitties. The vet, Dr. Bader, was excellent and thorough and pronounced both kitties healthy. We were thinking this visit would be a one-off, only because there are vets much closer to our home, but now we're planning to make this our new vet clinic. The care is good, the staff are kind and friendly and the clinic isn't owned by VCA or another corporate entity. (Our previous favorite clinic was bought by VCA a few years ago; prices have skyrocketed, staff turnover is very high and you never see the same vet twice because they leave so quickly.) We hope our kitties stay healthy for many years, but we'll be bringing them back to Steele Canyon for their yearly wellness visits and future health needs.

We saw Dr. Ty Blanche, and the service was truly phenomenal. As new livestock owners, we were pretty nervous going in especially since we've never dealt with a situation like this before. Waylon had nasal discharge and a cough, which is really concerning in young goats, and we were feeling overwhelmed trying to figure out what to do (especially with places like Tractor Supply no longer carrying livestock antibiotics). From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel comfortable and taken care of. Dr. Blanche was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and kind. She was extremely informative and answered all of my questions thoroughly. You can tell she genuinely cares &she is amazing! We also have a full house of animals five dogs (ranging from a Cane Corso to a Yorkie), goats, and chickens, with plans to continue growing our little farm so they will definitely be seeing a lot more of us. I'm extremely impressed by the level of customer service and top-tier care we received. This was our first visit, and it definitely won't be our last. After he examined him, he didn't see anything too alarming and didn't make me do any unnecessary X-rays. I'm always scared to go to a vet because they always make you do things to make more money. Not him. His assistant Derrick was super knowledgeable about tortoises and super nice. He taught me how to inject the medication and he was super personable. It's nice to know there is a reputable San Diego vet who is nice and honest and knows tortoises.

I felt very safe with them both as they examined my very wiggly ham. Maple ended up needing a tooth trimming which was done very quickly. I could hear them gushing and giggling about her as they treated her as well, which made me feel like they really cared! I was incredibly nervous to bring in my hamster to get her tooth trimmed but now I will feel at ease knowing that she is in great and informed hands!
