No loyalty to the people that pay their rent on time & early at that. smh

Often issues they would fix would resurface again because they weren't fixed properly and often the problems would become worse. This was a pervasive problem, and it was always very difficult to get things fixed in a reasonable manner without significant effort and follow up. Over time from living here I became more and more sick. I started suffering from significant joint pain and headaches to the point where I couldn't even do basic things. I went to the chiropractor, physical therapy, and an orthopedic doctor. However, the pain subsisted and cost me a substantial amount of time and money off of work and on healthcare costs. Eventually, I discovered a lot of mold in one of the rooms. It was a rather substantial amount everywhere which was exacerbated by the constant leaking since it was never fixed properly after numerous requests. After more investigation it was discovered on the ground, through the floors and walls, through the ceiling, and in numerous other areas as well. Even the vents and carpets had it. I spent a few months having to spend my time at the homes of family or in other locations and they never offered to help with any costs due to this. Professional inspection showed there was an extreme concentration of 5 different species of toxic mold including Stachybotrys (Black Mold), Penicillium/Aspergillus, Memnoniella, Hyphae, and Chaetomium. It was never eliminated properly, and only very surface level work and painting over the mold was done. One night they worked in one of the rooms and messed up the water line and I had no water. Eventually they would follow me around and use threats instead of addressing any further issues after repeated requests. I eventually moved out and I had many articles of clothing ruined. This along with my health has cost me a significant amount of time and money. Stay away at all costs. Edit: The owner has responded, and I see no way to actually reply publicly to the comment. I don't understand why they would bother denying this happened when I have pictures of the actual apartment in the review. It's easily proven and verified. More and more landlords refuse to fix anything and just wish to deflect blame.

The staff has always been wonderful. I recently had a couple issues in my apartment and the manager Meagan was quick to get the repairs done for me as she always has. The only reason I'd ever have to leave here is relocating or purchasing my own home. The price for apartments is affordable and they are spacious and nice. Love it here!

They give warnings about trash issues when it is their fault for not providing us with the trash can. On top of that, there have been repeated problems with cockroaches, which is unacceptable and clearly not being properly addressed. The management office especially Alyse, is unresponsive and doesn't seem to genuinely care about residents' concerns. Instead, she is quick to add unnecessary fees--even in situations where the issue is clearly due to poor management on her end. It feels like she is more focused on charging tenants than actually fixing problems and caring about the tenant . To make matters worse, they escalate situations quickly and will send you to court with little to no effort to work things out. Overall, this has been a stressful and disappointing place to live. I would strongly recommend being cautious before signing a lease here.

They also had carpet throughout, which I was not a fan of. The layout of the apartment is ok. After my tour, i ran into a gentleman who had moved in during the summer and is now looking move elsewhere. He was furious about the constant mold problem apparently they have here. He mentioned to me how there is mold literally everywhere. Mold in the cracks of the window. The toilets breed black mold, the shower walls have mold growing under it, the faucet spouts also has mold coming through it. He even mentioned how the ice maker ice started tasting funny and stale. The automatic ice maker apparently is not maintained properly, neither is the dishwasher. I told the guy that it sounds like they care more about the appearance outside than they do inside. After touring the place and running across the gentleman that lives there, I am going to look at some newer builds. I would rather pay extra rent, knowing that the new build I am living in is in great shape inside. Before writing this, I looked at some reviews from this place and apparently there were some of the same complaints about mold and how the people concerns about it was not taken seriously. If you want new and not have to worry about these issues , look elsewhere.

When I first found out about its location, I was initially hesitant because it's on Alps/Broad, so I thought it would be loud... but it's incredibly quiet. There's no obnoxious noise and the residents are courteous. The complex is clean. There's no trash or litter around anywhere. There's a small fenced in area for dogs to run around, which is great. Not many apartments have that. The apartment complex itself is a gated community, so that leaves you with a sense of security. The pool is clean, too. Location!!! WOW the location is AWESOME! There's a back gate to the rear end of the Beechwood shopping center... right across the street from Kroger (and also Chipotle, which takes all my money). It's within (EASY) walking distance between both the Omni Club and BodyPlex. The staff is also awesome. Incredibly accommodating and always willing to address any issues you may have. They hold your USPS packages in the office (FedEx/UPS are left at your door), so you have to go there to get it, but it's really no big deal--there's always somebody there to get your stuff (and boy, did I order a LOT of stuff when I moved in!) One of the coolest things? You can pay your rent through a Visa/Mastercard, so you can maximize benefits of cashback/miles/rewards while paying rent. Neat. As long as I'm in Athens, I plan on living here. Out of 5 stars, it's an easy 5+++. 11/7/2014: It has come to my attention that the carpets are replaced every 5 years, which isn't a big deal realistically, however when the previous tenants of your apartment had two dogs and apparently weren't taken out frequently enough, it can become a problem. I recommend using a blacklight in your apartment prior to moving in--something I did not do until just recently, and the discoveries were quite harsh and abrasive. Unfortunately, when brought to the attention of the management, they informed me that there was nothing they could do. I still think this is the best apartment complex in Athens, but DEFINITELY make sure you know what's going on before you get a room! :)

I have lived at Beechwood Pines for 4 happy years. This is an excellent community with responsive…read morestaff and courteous neighbors. It has all of the standard amenities for a reasonable price. My apartment is an excellent 1-bedroom layout with plenty of storage and living space. The few maintenance requests I've had have been addressed within 24 hours. My only very minor complaint is that the complex is right behind a shopping center that sometimes leads to early-morning noise due to dumpsters being emptied and trucks being unloaded. This is only an occasional problem. My apartment is also directly adjacent to the new dog park, so I hear some barking occasionally. People are respectful though and don't tend to walk their dogs at unreasonable hours. Overall this is a great complex and I would highly recommend it to anyone. I've had a great experience here. Edit: After moving away from Athens to my new apartment I have realized just how lucky I was at Beechwood Pines. It has quiet, respectful neighbors, a courteous office staff, super fast and competent maintenance people, and generally well-kept, clean facilities. I'm sorry I had to move away. The management team (specifically the manager Analia) were incredible. Making sure our move-in went smoothly and all paper work was processed efficiently. We have been living here for 3 months now and have zero complaints. Great neighbors and perfect layout for our lifestyle and commute. All in all 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to move to the area.
