Scottie provided the quote and was our main contact and he was a sheer delight to work with. What an asset he is to the company! The Team arrived on time, was very courteous and worked through some of the hottest days in the summer (left cold drinks for them everyday) and then into some rain (which they had to pause for). Everyday, the Team cleaned up the yard, tools and equipment. The quote from Penfolds was on the higher side of the average, but we went with them because the quote was detailed and they were realistic about the unknowns (especially the carpentry work, since most of the issues were covered up and couldn't be assessed until the roof came off). The carpentry team was very thorough, communicative, and ended up getting the work done for far less than they originally told me it would cost. The roofing team was also excellent - polite and tidy, with good attention to detail. Everything was done on or ahead of schedule, and ended up being completed for *less* than the quoted price. Save yourselves a headache and do NOT hire these guys…read more They don't fulfill their written or verbal agreements; they do sloppy, mediocre work s-l-o-w-l-y (as they change by the hour); they are rude and dishonest; and basically are best avoided. Live and learn, I guess. You can learn from our mistake though. AVOID! They also have some weird clauses like "We don't fix leaks unless they are actively leaking into your home," which they use as a way to avoid completing work when they arrive late and want to go home. Instead, they suddenly claim there is a leak, so they have to come back later if/when it's pouring into your home (?!), and charge you again the $470 they charge just for showing up. That's what the crew says, while the manager in the office concocts some other story. He says there is NO leak, and they did us a big favour for not completing the job they agreed to do.
