This was my gym before I went to great bridge! But I do love that you can go run at trashmore while leaving your kids in the stay and play! Staff is amazing with my kids. ESP one lady is the nursery area she's so great. ( can't remember her name she's a small Asian lady) very calm and patient. Classes are nice and the sauna is as well. We love the pool area but don't like how older kids bombard the kiddie area and the lifeguards do not say anything.

This place is just a gym with too many rules. Here's what I've been asked to stop doing or even leave for: Swimming too slowly in the pool lanes Not playing tennis in the tennis court (my child and I were the only ones there, and we were playing) Bringing a child younger than 9 or 14 onto the track Playing basketball with a basketball brought from home. All the others are ALWAYS taken. They confiscated my ball. Going the wrong way in the pool. The lifeguard didn't realize that going against the current is a form of exercise. Walking the track instead of running Stopping next to the track Sitting on the exercise equipment. It had a chair that I chose to sit on for two minutes. No one was around. Today, two fellow members kicked me out because I had flip-flops on. They were right about it being against the rules, but it just reminded me of the pervasive culture of entitlement and snobbery that exists at this location. For context, I have memory issues, which is why I had flip-flops on at the gym.

Not only at this location but also other recreation centers as well! Parking is ample. You get full view of the pool to the left of the entrance and then the welcome/reception desk and even a peek at the indoor court. The membership signup was a breeze, the staff was helpful. Flyers of class schedule, pool and gym schedule and other locations are all available by the bulletin stand where you take schedule printouts. I cannot wait to start my early morning classes!

Upon enrolling my son in the YMCA summer camp, I made it a priority to communicate his Autism…read morediagnosis and emphasized the importance of having counselors who are patient and sensitive to his specific needs. Despite this, it wasn't until a month into the program--during a conversation with one of his counselors about some concerns they had--that I learned the counselors working directly with him were unaware of his diagnosis. I was told that now that they were informed, they would "be more patient moving forward," which is a bit concerning--especially since counselors should be patient with all young children, regardless. Another issue was swim time. My son is somewhat hesitant around water. Prior to enrollment, I was assured that there would be at least one counselor in the pool with the children to support those who may feel anxious. I understand that the camp staff are responsible for many children and that some require significant attention. However, based on the information I was given, I expected a level of support that would make my son feel safe and included--particularly in environments he finds challenging. That wasn't the case, and I later learned the pool is 4ft deep--about the same height as my son. With no adult in the water, I don't feel the environment is safe for such young kids as small as a 5 year old, especially one who isn't completely comfortable in a 4ft pool. I also experienced a lack of confidentiality and security. During the first week, neither I nor my son's other approved pickup adults were asked for ID at pick up. Only when I brought it up did someone check--once. Additionally, when I raised a concern about my son's stretched-out shirt at pick up, the counselor named the other child involved, which felt unprofessional and violated that family's privacy. As someone who holds fond memories of attending YMCA's summer camp myself, I had high hopes my son would have a similarly positive experience. Unfortunately, due to these communication gaps, safety concerns and unmet expectations, that hasn't been the case.

The showers are not clean. I have done aerobics in the pool and have had hand full on hair in my fingers. Which totally grossed me out. Sometimes the lifeguards don't show or they can't get the door unlocked at 5:30 am to open up the pool area. No toilet paper or soap in the showers. It's crazy!! Gym area is not air conditioned well probably because the dehumidifier doesn't work. They need an operational manager there that actually cares and comes out to look at everything and everyone. Management there doesn't give a S...!

Unmistakenly a true bodybuilders/Powerlifter- gym with all the accomodations necessary to get either Fit, Super Strong, or just plain built. Several counterparts from the gym have competed in NPC class shows, several have gone to Nationals and Jr. Nats and some I believe have become / or were Pros. Big Al, Bonney and the team are a pleasure to work with and the music station is almost always on Rock and Roll, never a Backstreet Boy song or Britney Spears song plays. If im not mistaken, they have the most amount (of a certain brand) of weight equipment of anywhere on the eastern seaboard. THe pride that comes out of being with a gym like this is carried through 4000 miles away when I still rock the classic FlexGym T-shirts here in Los Angeles.
