A city without an offering of recreational centers is not a city I would want to call home. Thats just how spoiled my family has got by the City of Virginia Beach Recreational Centers. The reasonable cost when compared to a traditional gym is substantial. It has increased over the decade of use, but I'm still fan. This recreation center is not the oldest built in 1997, but it is the smallest making it my least favorite in the system. It has what the others have for the most part, but a smaller scale. It cannot offer the programing of the larger ones, but still has plenty going on. Review the quarterly books that are printed and online. The location is straight forward with signage by the road, but you can pass it up easily. The parking lot was recently sealed and looks great! No debris in the lot, or walks on my most recent. The check-in is immediately inside the door. There is no lobby area like the others. I don't care for that, but there is nothing wrong with it either. I feel a little claustrophobic. The interior area inside the door was clean and I saw a staff person sweeping in the area and emptying trash. So what do they have...a full court gym with rock wall, cardio and weights, an activity room and a six lane pool with 5 meter spring board. A men's and women's locker room is available. Vending machines are in the main corridor. I'm passionate about swimming, so a plug for the systems learn to swims and private lessons. Check out the quarterly listing of learn to swims starting at 4 yrs old. Private lessons are also offered. My children came through the learn to swim program and are both accomplished swimmers. One is a year a round swimmer that got his start at Princesses Anne Recreation Center. Not much more to say about SeaTack. It's a nice choice for beach residents. A 3.5, rounding down due to its limitations. Recommend!

1 star. I had a very concerning experience here that parents should be aware of. During our visit,…read morea worker handled a situation very poorly and did not step in when they should have. A little boy who was bigger than my daughter was allowed to tell her where to go and try to direct her against her will. The employee present did not correct the situation or ensure my child felt safe. As a parent, that was extremely unsettling. Staff should be paying attention and stepping in when one child is trying to control or push another child around. Allowing that kind of situation to continue without intervention creates an unsafe environment. On top of that, after I cancelled my subscription and informed them that I was cancelling, they still charged me for an additional month. Being billed after cancelling is unacceptable. Between the unsafe situation involving my child and being charged after cancelling, I cannot recommend this business. Parents should be cautious.

2 little kids unsupervised in the pool and later hot tub. They played for sometime in the lane area…read moreof the pool. No idea where their mom was for a hot minute. When they reached the hot tub someone spoke up to them they had to be 18. This was today around 4 PM. It would be nice if the staff was more diligent in doing walk about and taking control of this. These girls were around 7 years old. There is no way they have memberships. Please note there were no swim lessons at all.

I attended this facility in support of a colleague from ODU...Amy!!!…read more She is the dance/fitness instructor here, well perhaps one of many, but she is awesome! She invited me to drop in for a class to learn the latest and most popular line dances! She knows I love to dance, hence that's how we met... at ODU :) say less girl, I am there!! I visited the site a few weeks ago (on a Saturday) and from the looks of the parking lot, I thought it would be crowded inside. Boy was I wrong, the place is awesome inside! It was not crowded at all. The women's locker room was tidy and smelled fresh. Once I arrived upstairs to the dance room, I did notice workout (machines) equipment as well as free weights. Something for everyone is here! The dance class lasted for about 75 minutes, and it was a total workout! Beginner friendly and Amy makes everyone feel super comfortable and is willing to repeat steps over and over and over :) I didn't think I would work up a sweat doing line dancing, but it was a sweaty ordeal indeed - I loved it! I highly recommend you check out this location. I traveled from Suffolk, therefore it's definitely a hike, but on this day I was planning to be in the area, so it made sense to drop in. You cannot beat this waterfront property. Not a member, like me, just pay a drop in fee and get your body moving :) Have fun and enjoy life :)

I really love this gym. It's friendly the classes are great. I go whenever I'm out at the beach.read more
