Got all my laundry washed, dried in folded in less than two hours...amazing! Only mistake I made was not noticing that each of the larger washers could hold up to four baskets of laundry. In general, Chicago and University is a sketchy to eccentric intersection. The sidewalks are always stained with who knows what, so tread carefully. The parking lot is another hazard, and you're probably wondering why I gave this place 4 stars, right? Well, in the therum of 'no choice', this is actually one of the better options in Riverside. Inside it's huge, clean, well organized, and brightly lit. I saw people cleaning the floors and machines, plus, there's a security guard. As a first timer, I needed a debit card, which is .50 one-time, just don't lose it, plus a 3% transaction fee, which was negligible as I'll illustrate, and you can check your balance at the same kiosk. I figured $20 was enough to wash and dry the comforter, and my credit union revealed that the total cost was $20.60 including the fees. mentioned. Looking back, I should have used the so-called 80lb machine because the 100lb in front was bigger than needed, and a little over $12 was deducted. On Tuesday and Thursday those machines are $2 less to use, according to a big banner. I found the machine was really good, though and faster than expected. It gave me a little time to grab lunch around the corner at Canton Chinese Food. The comforter was clean and easily transferred to the large dryer without using a provided cart. That's when I discovered someone's panties were still in the washer when I used it. I left those on top of the machine BTW. Finally, the dryer was pretty inexpensive, a few dollars maybe, and in 29 minutes it thoroughly dried without feeling scorched on the high setting. All-in-all, it's a necessary evil, but this spot seems like a good option for me in the future.

Unfortunately, a recurring issue involving a commercial cleaning company has made the environment increasingly uncomfortable and, at times, unsafe feeling. On Tuesday mornings, a commercial cleaning crew regularly occupies a large number of machines at once. 15-20 or more, which makes it difficult for regular customers to access machines during busy hours. My larger concern is the behavior I personally observed from one male worker associated with this company. I witnessed him repeatedly standing extremely close behind customers, particularly women and elderly customers, while they were loading and unloading machines. At one point, an older woman visibly turned around in alarm because of how closely he was standing behind her, and the interaction became confrontational when she reacted. The overall atmosphere felt aggressive and uncomfortable rather than respectful of shared public space. The company is also washing heavily used commercial cleaning materials like mops and dust mats in shared machines, which many customers may not feel comfortable with. I previously attempted to contact management privately about these concerns and never received a response, which is why I'm posting publicly. I hope management addresses both the excessive commercial machine usage and customer safety concerns so the laundromat remains comfortable for everyone. I will never come back here again.
