The woman who runs the show here, whose name escapes me, was extremely helpful and knew what she was talking about. She knew about my mileage deductions, as I was a pizza delivery guy then, without having to look it up or whatever. That impressed me. She was very professional as well, but was easy to talk to/approach. The only issue I had, and it wasn't really an issue, is that she wasn't able to tell me if I would get my stimulus check even though I was being claimed as a dependent on someone else's return. That's not a very common question though, y'know? Anyway, would recommend.

Business Resource Center (BRC) took the opportunity to exhibit predatory practices against the…read moreelderly. My mother (81 at the time) hired the company to file my parents' income taxes. The Fed's rejected my parent's Schedule A (there was a problem with the form) which led to interest and fines that ended up totaling $1200. My question was: why was a Schedule A submitted for 81 year old retirees when BRC knew that my parents no longer owned property? why was the Schedule A filed on the wrong form? and why didn't this firm let my mother know that the Fed's would help her file for free. BRC had done my parents taxes for years in a satisfactory manner - but for the year we are talking about - my parents had dissolved any reason to file a Schedule A. It is a derelict of consciousness to not advise the elderly that they could have gotten the service for free. It is a derelict of consciousness to not advise 80 year old's that the more expensive service was no longer needed. So, $450 to BRC | $100 elsewhere to fix what BRC screwed up to begin with | $1200 in taxes and fees to the IRS. All of this for a service that the Federal Gov offers for FREE to Seniors. https://www.irs.gov/individuals/seniors-retirees $450 to file 13 - 1099's on the wrong form.

I will say that my husband and I just use this bank as our spending account for groceries, gas,…read moreextra stuff etc. We wanted a local credit union to use since our main bank (Navy Federal) has very limited locations. That being said, this bank has novice technology that I found out the hard way doesn't update balances for you immediately when you sign it to the app but takes a solid 10 seconds to show your true balance. So if you didn't know that, and you quickly check your account here and there like I did, I would have impression I had funds in there and go abouts my business. Despite signing up for account balance alerts (email, in app and text) multiple times I have never once received an alert that my balance was low. For weeks I wasn't able to log in and view my balance because they updated their app which unbeknownst to their customers made you download a completely new app instead of just needing an update to your existing one. This new app would not accept my same log in info so I locked myself out, and they made me go into a location to fix it instead of being able to call their 1800 number. I think all these things contributed to a whole mess of overdraft fees we've accrued recently which I think is pretty shady business practice. Going to cancel this account and open one elsewhere where they have their sh*t together.
