There's usually not too much of a line except for nice weekends when everyone is headed to Governors Island. The only times we've ever had a problem getting a ferry here are when there is a cruise ship at the terminal in Red Hook, and the last time that happened, we had to wait for 3 ferries to arrive (so nearly 2 hours) before there was one with enough space to board. Next time we're in that situation, I'm either going to check out the stop at Pier 1 or find an alternative to the ferry, because waiting that long was a frustrating waste of time. But outside of those instances, this stop has been great.

See a concert or a sporting event and leave quick. Crowds when there's an event going on, but it's still not that bad. This also connects to other systems. Busy because there's so many trains stopping here. It serves the B, D, N, Q, R, 2, 3, 4, and 5 Trains. This is popular for making transfers. And you certainly have lots of lines to choose from. There's also many busses you can get on. All of these are just the MTA. There's also the Long Island Railroad. Besides the arena is a lot of other stuff around here. There's the Atlantic Terminal Mall. It has every store you care about. There's also many other stores that you care nothing about, so there's just lots of eating and shopping. Of course most use this to get to the arena. There's always some kind of concert or sport every night almost, or there's some kind of convention going on. I find it useful for more than just the Barclays Center. It's also a major transportation hub. There's many trains and systems you can get onto.

One thing I appreciate is that there are elevators, which makes it a good choice for people who need accessible subway stations. That makes a big difference when you are carrying things or helping someone who needs easier access. The station is busy, but that also makes it feel safe, and being right next to Barclays Center and Atlantic Terminal means you can grab food, shop, or head to an event without going far. It is not perfect, since clearer signs would help, but overall it is reliable, accessible, and part of the Brooklyn experience.

Located in a high traffic area next to the MetroTech Center, the subway station serves as a major transit to downtown Brooklyn. I'm not sure if the OMNY (One Metro New York) card machine is always down, but it was surely not working the day I commuted from this station. It resulted in me having to go to a different location to purchase one. I must say that I have never had this experience in Chicago Illinois when purchasing a ventra card to catch the CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) train, so I will assume that the OMNY card machine is always down. I am still open to commuting to-and-from MTA - Jay Street - MetroTech because it sits nearest to a hotel I will likely stay at again when visiting Brooklyn. As all note, the views, wow, they make up for the weather, life, relationship problems, family…read morewoes, money troubles, that wild dog that ate your pet, it's true, even the urine smell, shady neighborhood, traffic on the BQE visible nearby, and the foul carcinogenic Gowanus underneath you all disappear when you see the beauty of New York Harbour and Lady Liberty signalling Dirty Jerz just beyond her arm's reach. Whether the sun gleams off the waves behind the Staten Island Ferry or a rainy day makes Red Hook look 10% more industrial, the views! Station has a booth and 2 TVMs, they're good. Not much else, a lot of stairs and escalators so leave 3 mins to get up and down from platform to street-level door. The station is in a bit of a rough neighborhood that's a mix of brave gentrifying folk from Carrol Gardens, school kids, industrial workers (lots of scrapping, light manufacture, cement mixing, auto repair, and hardware distribution sorts nearby), and transit workers make the station mix colorful just like NYC.

This ferry can be a bit confusing depending on how you arrive…read more We came from the park and there were a few workers that looked like they may sell tickets. We approached and asked to buy a ticket and they mentioned you can't buy tickets from them. You need to buy the tickets out front. We ask where is out front and were pointed to a general direction. We ask for clarification and were told "look, look" with a finger pointed in a direction. Alright we decide just to walk down and after a bit we saw a couple of people line up at a machine that was beside a store. We may have missed it if there wasn't a lineup. We buy 2 tickets, which I have to say was a really reasonable price and head back to the line. We jump in line and notice the times for it were a bit later. We head back to info to ask if there's a schedule for the ferry or if anything would come before the departure time we saw. They told us we could line up in a second line and the ferry should be there in about 15 minutes. It's not obvious each of the lines which direction the ferry is going. We lined up and hopped on the next ferry in no time. All this to say, the ticket machine is out front by the store before the pier. If you're not sure which line you should be on, ask the staff, they're pretty good with which ferry you need to hop on and good luck!

It has a limited schedule going here. It serves the F Train. That's the only way. Also the station itself bites. The stairs are the worst. It's two flights. Then turnstiles. After that, two more flights. It fucking sucks. Also it's filthy. The only good thing is the Dumbo location. Has a good view when you get outside it. This is about the only reason to get off. Get off if you're going to Dumbo. It sucks exiting. The platform is way long and there's too many stairs.
