DO not rent at Chandler Cottage Apartments on Abbott and Hunsaker my child apartment was cleared out without our knowledge she was up to date on lease and rent paid by the time we found out and drove 2 1/2 hours away her belongings had been taken they were very dismissive about the situation and nasty customer service while trying to make a complaint and this is unacceptable and illegal to do a paying customer in this manner The customer service you receive from Kaiyla, Wanda, and Lori is despicable they should not have a leadership role at any company it's a shame that nothing is being done to remove them due to there behavior with the tenants that have several complaints and bad reviews

Black mold all over my apartment and many others.
    Steve M.

Black mold that will not be addressed as I have tried since February 19. I have since after my last review been evicted because I would not give them $1200 I didn't owe. After going to court and MTH not showing up for the hearing leading to a case being dismissed two days later I get an eviction notice. If you move here you are in for a world of hurt.

Do not go here. Waste of time money and health. This is how I moved in. Place was trashed huge piss stain in the carpet that took 5 try's with Stanley steamer to get out that they didn't reimburse me on. They are full of lies and scams do not go here. If I could give it zero stars I would.

Worst company I've ever rented from. Don't answer phones or return calls. Tried to fee us for things we didn't do.

Hire more people you psychopaths! Having 1 person manage 4 or more apartment complexes does not work. Ya'll make enough!

Maintenance requests take from one week to one month (or more). Overall, office staff and leasing agents try to help you out.

Around one month later, I checked electricity billing again, and it showed that I had used $100 of electricity for June (and 80 for July), despite the fact that I moved out in August. The electricity spike occurred around the time they did the move out inspection. My best guess is that they turned on the air conditioning, and only turned it off like a month later. I have proof from daily electricity billing from the utility company that I turned off electricity after I left at the end of August, only to spike again after I surrendered the apartment back. I am going to have to go to small claims court since dealing with Debbie from corporate is an nightmare. I explained to her in detail how I turned off electricity after I left, which is proven in utility billing. After listening to all that, she responded with "it's your job to turn off the electricity when you leave," like she didn't just hear a single word I said.

Just save yourself the headache and find a better place. Some of the reviews here seem biased one…read moreway or another, but if there's anything you should read before considering moving here, I'll stick to some facts: - Lived in Forest View Apartments for 12 months personally, and I knew by the 3rd week in I wasn't going to enjoy it like I'd have hoped. - The leasing office is not on site. It's actually about a 15 minute drive one way. - Forest View is run by a single person who answers to every need. - Getting ahold of said person can be next to impossible. She is out of the office frequently, takes about 1 week to respond to emails (if at all), and is typically gone by 4pm. - Maintenance can be spotty, but they are generally kind; sometimes they show, more often than not they don't show. - There's basically no consistency. In trying to adopt a dog, a 2-week debate happened where I was first told "we don't allow dogs", but confronted this by mentioning several of my neighbors had dogs. This led to a response of "ohh, that's right, we do allow dogs, but none over 20lbs". When I told them that my next door neighbor had a Black Lab, they replied with "well, sometimes we do up to 50lbs, but that's the maximum". When I raised the point that both a Great Dane and a Husky lived across from me, I was told "okay, we can look into it" and the person then said they needed to get off the phone. - The AC/Heating unit is comically old, only blows air out of the top in front of a massive window, would blow out 75 degree air on a good day in the summer, and runs up your electric bill like crazy. Mine personally malfunctioned during December and run non-stop, leading to a bill of $190 for a tiny 1-bedroom apartment. - The cheap paint used on the walls/ceiling led to gross yellow stains all over the apartment when the summer humidity kicked in (I'm a non-smoker). I washed the walls on move-out to ensure my deposit back, knowing I didn't want to argue over something I knew I was right about and risk losing money over just for pride's sake. - My windows would constantly stick, be hard to open or close without feeling like I'd break them, or would come off the sliding track. - My patio fence was decaying, old wood that had fallen apart years ago. - The gutter above my door was smashed, so each time it would rain there would be a heavy stream directly in front of the door. - My bathroom had water damage on the trim, floor, ceiling, and even the linen closet. - There were no outside lights anywhere near the parking lot or dumpster, which can be fine, but the pavement was so warped it made it a tripping hazard anytime you needed to go outside after the sun went down. - My apartment would smell like weed all the time from neighbors because management had no interest in stopping anyone do what they wanted. - Only a handful of places had dishwashers or new AC units for no extra cost as I found out, and mine was not one of them. If you can avoid living here, you'll be doing yourself a huge favor

Maplegrove has recently taken over Homestead Apartments on Lake Lansing Rd. Since their takeover,…read moreI have personally experienced the management of this, once pleasant, community go down the drain quickly. The new personnel in the management office are incompetent and have ZERO integrity. They make promises about leases and repairs to keep people from leaving - as they have had a serious problem with tenant retention - that they have NO intention of fulfilling. I am not the only one who has had trouble. Each and every person I have come to know here has had an issue with them since the property has changed hands. The property itself is falling apart in ways not realized till you move in and good luck trying to get them to fix anything. They are great at sucking you in - but terrible once they know you are stuck. BUYER BEWARE!!
