Bad customer service and horrible communication. Mtn Insurance gives new meaning to the term unprofessional. If you've ever seen the Seinfeld episode with the Soup Nazi, you'll have an idea of what level of customer service to expect. Maria very well may be a capable agent, but be prepared for horrible communication and extreme moodiness. If they feel like responding they will, if they don't then no soup for you. While I was working with them on a very urgent matter, they would take days to reply to an email or return a phone call. Another time they closed for 2 consecutive non-holiday business days with no explanation, no email replies, no outgoing message explaining the closure, and a full voicemail box. When I very politely asked about this, she said it's none of my business and quite rudely scolded me for having the nerve to ask. It's not her fault if insurance companies are slow to respond. But rather than just tell us this, they choose to be non-responsive, refuse to give simple updates, and blame the customer for simply requesting proper communication. If you're looking for an insurance agent who will leave you hanging when you need them most, this agency if for you. read more

This place is terrible! I was insured with them for over 3 years, honestly I didn't want the hassle of changing insurance companies. I tried giving this place many chances because I understand it's a small location with not many employees but this place is horrible! The customer service is the worst! The female has a huge attitude problem and you can tell she's way over whelmed. I'm so happy to be done here! So many problems with this company. They quote you one price and don't tell you the whole story and you get a bill that's higher. Ok, yes it's higher but why? then they get an attitude when they're explaining it. If you would tell your customers from the beginning the FULL charges, they wouldn't have to call you back with questions. Also they went through a huge mess with the DMV!!! DMV sent me a letter stating I don't have insurance and I was going to get fined and loose the registration. When I called regarding this issue, they said yes they are having that a lot recently but they'll get it handled. Do they not have auditors at this location? The place is mess , they need more employees and should train their current ones how to properly communicate with customers. You can find a cheaper insurance with much better customer service, don't waste your time like I did. read more

Stop what you're doing and listen to me. I have never hugged a customer service rep until today. I originally called Mtn. Insurance for a vin verification, but when they saw the DMV was incorrectly going to charge me $2,864.00 in fees Sofia stepped in. She was able to make sense of their chaos and reduce it to under $500. I'll never go anywhere else for this service. 10 stars read more

Very unprofessional brokerage for months they have been dragging a quote and telling us that they will provide a quote. Again threes weeks ago I spoke to them, and again they promised we would have a quote within a week. I just called to follow up and someone there picked up and said we don't want your business and hung up. Horrible and unprofessional. They are the worst! read more

I contacted this company for a homeowner's quote. I was referred by a friend. I was told I would receive a quote within 24 hours, I sent an email after 4 days, and no response. I called after 7 days and was told by Sofia by end of the day. On the 10th day I called and no answer I left a message. I Got a vm from Maria saying due to outages she hadn't been able to provide a quote. I feel this is an excuse because no one ever mentioned they had outages at this company, Sofia did mention Maria worked from home Maria sounded like she just woke up in the VM she left me. Poor communication and unprofessional, don't waste your time I contacted Farmers and had a quote in my email within 8 hours. No excuses. read more

Not sure how they are still in business... I was referred to them by my realtor. I filled out their online intake to get a quote on a homeowners policy and no one ever got back to me. I called in and spoke to Ashleigh and she made some excuse and emailed me the form. Once I opened escrow I sent the form in on July 23rd with ALL extensive detailed info requested plus pix of the house. They knew my closing date. By Aug 3rd I had not heard back so wrote in again. It took her 5 days to respond that they had requested quotes and when they had them would send them over. No questions for me to make sure I would be getting the right coverages, no interest at all. Now mind you, since they were taking so long, I had reached out to other agents. The CA Fair Plan is online and you can get a quote immediately. They didn't bother to do that. And the wraparound policies were taking a couple of days. This place doesn't even respond to web inquiries and takes 5 days to answer a simple email. Does not bode well if you ever had a claim and needed help immediately! Just out of curiosity, I called on Aug 19th to let them know my closing had been pushed back a week and to see if they finally had a quote even though I had no intention of working with such an incompetent company. The receptionist who answered was super rude and unhelpful. I emailed in to let them know that. I got an email from the owner Maria right away saying 'Thank you for thinking of us, but I will not be able to quote this property.' LOL. no duh, I'd been waiting 27 days for a quote by that point. Clearly she ISN'T able. Not an insurance company you'd want to turn to in a time of crisis and expect any help at all. read more

I've never had a problem with the agent or the staff at MTN Insurance. Everyone from Maria, to Caitlin, to Debbie were very helpful and friendly. I use them to insure both of my properties and I will continue to use them for my renewals... Keep in mind that they are very busy since most of the insurance companies have pulled out of the area due to the high fire risk... Highly recommend! read more

The worst in customer service, professionalism and responsiveness of ANY insurance company ever

Well I had an interesting exchange with mountain insurance today. I have use their insurance services for four years on my vehicle and my home. I sold my home in July and after 30 days went into see why I haven't received my refund for the year. I was told that they would have a check for me Monday, and so when I went in today on Wednesday they said no the insurance company is going to take 90 days to send it to you. And we left you a message yesterday. So I looked in my phone - no message!? That was from Maria the owner. 90 days?! Let's just say I'm not impressed or happy! I can't run my cabinet business like that and I don't know of too many people that can. Plus I don't think they'll wait 90 days for a payment to give coverage. Not much I can do except complain to the state insurance board. The company covering me was Aegisis. read more

Went here to register and transfer the title of my new-used car. The folks here made it SUPER easy...I would go here any day instead of the DMV. I called first and Sophia (she's wonderful!) started the process over the phone. When I arrived, a gentleman met me at my car (due to COVID distancing) to complete the process. Altogether, I was there for less than fifteen minutes and left with my temporary registration and new tags. Thank you for making this so easy! Very friendly and efficient service! read more

Absolutely terrible customer service; unfriendly, unwilling to help, unorganized and rude. They sent me Edocs that were incomplete and unverified by them. I would not recommend them to anybody. Horrible. They don't give you an accurate quote. I had to do my own research and raise it much higher. I was promised a second quote and didn't get one. I was scheduled for a phone call to explain the 2 policies and they never called. I called and the girl couldn't explain anything. Waste of time. read more

Finally an insurance company on the mountain that writes affordable fire and home owners insurance. Maria helped me and was genuinely concerned about my needs. I have dealt with other agents carrying large brand names, they didn't think twice about over charging me. They seem to also carry Auto, Life and Commercial. Maria mentioned that she will also have Auto registration service soon, Awesome! If your price is too high I would give her a call. read more

The staff here are absolutely superb! I've gone to them now on three separate occasions instead of having to trek down to the DMV and I've never once been disappointed. They are absolutely phenomenal and the fees they charge are so reasonable and you'll feel like it's money well spent with how easy they make everything. I went in today to renew my tags bit I had to do a smog thing and I lost all my paperwork the DMV had sent me and all they needed from me was my correct registration and my pass of smog proof and I was in and out, easy peasy on thier part. Best part was, I got my new tags on the spot! I've used them for title transfers before and they've never let me down. I wouldn't recommend any one else! read more

Just got home from attempting to get a quote, Mary was nice, the other, " in charge" women were incompetent, copped attitude, and weren't able to quote me on a car they quoted me a decent price for about a year ago. They claimed they never quoted me. The two lead women there are grossly overweight, unpleasant to deal with, and can't even work out an auto insurance quote in a half hour. Never going back. In less time than I sat in the MTN office watching them flail at a quote, I got a better quote, and got a policy paid, signed, and delivered at home on the phone from Miguel at Just Insurance, better by about $50 a year. read more
