They provide lunches and snacks, which is a huge help, and the education is amazing! My 4-year-old is more than ready for kindergarten thanks to the learning and support here. Also, they take care of potty training which honestly was the best part the first month he started. The indoor play court is perfect for rainy days, and the outdoor play areas are great. I also love that they take the babies on daily walks through HV park, and the older kids even go on little field trips throughout the year. Tuition is very reasonable for the quality of care and education we're getting. We're so thankful for this preschool and the peace of mind it gives our family!

Out of convenience, we tried several other schools, but we always ended up re-enrolling our boys at Homestead because nothing else came close to the high standards built into its programs. We started both of them at the Homestead Annex It is abundantly clear that the owners are professionally trained and deeply knowledgeable in early childhood education. Unlike the other schools we tried, Homestead has no teacher attrition. The teachers are career professionals who bring the expertise and consistency every preschool child deserves. While other places were billed as "schools," they felt more like unstructured daycares with a constantly rotating cast of inexperienced teachers. Communication at Homestead is exceptional. At the beginning of each month, we receive a detailed calendar outlining daily activities and snacks. Our children regularly bring home amazing arts and crafts, along with growing knowledge of music and Spanish. Most importantly, our boys are genuinely happy here. They were unhappy at the other schools we tried, but at Homestead they have never cried at drop-off and always leave pick-up with big smiles on their faces. We love Homestead so much that we're keeping our son, who turns five this summer, enrolled for another year instead of starting kindergarten. We truly believe Homestead is the perfect place to prepare children for elementary school. Our first grader thrived in kindergarten after spending three years at Homestead, and that experience says everything. If you're considering a school for your preschool-aged child, we wholeheartedly recommend Homestead.

As with any school there have been some rocky times in the past, however overall this has been a great place for my children. My children fall within a wide spectrum in abilities, intelligence and learning styles. One of my children is on the Autism spectrum. He has received a fabulous education and special instruction throughout his 10 years at St Agatha (pre-k to 8th grade). The new Principal, Mr. Harris has made great changes in the administration of the school. He is knowledgeable, attentive and welcoming. All my children were given an excellent education at St.Agatha and have progressed to college, two receiving full academic scholarships to university. I credit the teacher's and staff at St.Agatha for developing in my children a love of learning and dedication to community service. The teaching staff is the real gem of this school. They are truly a united community. Dedicated to their students and inviting towards the parents. Whenever I had a problem with one of my children ( which could some years be often ie. middle school) they were always helpful and kind. The previous post had some unflattering comments about the past principal and I don't discount their experience. Like any engaged parents, we raised concerns when we believed our children--or other children and families--were being treated unfairly or when situations involving faculty, volunteers, or school culture warranted attention. Some of those concerns involved exclusion, favoritism, and treatment that we felt was inconsistent with the values the school teaches. We brought these concerns forward respectfully and through the proper channels because we cared deeply about the school and believed that addressing problems is part of building a healthy community--not because we wanted conflict. Instead of working toward meaningful dialogue or resolution, we were ultimately informed by school and parish leadership that we had raised too many concerns and that our family and children did not belong at the school. Shortly thereafter, our children's enrollment contracts were not renewed. The most heartbreaking part has been the impact on our children. After five years, they are being forced to leave behind their closest friends, teachers they love, and the community that has been such a significant part of their lives. As parents, watching them bear the consequences of adults' decisions has been devastating. If you are considering this school, I encourage you to ask not only what values it teaches, but how it responds when engaged families respectfully raise difficult concerns. Our experience was that advocating for our children and bringing concerns directly to leadership ultimately resulted in our family being excluded from the community. We are deeply saddened by how our family's time at this school ended. We never imagined that respectfully advocating for our children would result in being told that we did not belong.

Typically, our daughter has not been friendly with new people and I was a little nervous at first, leaving her all-day with new people. I would like to praise how much love and affection the teachers and students gave our daughter when she came in as a new student. Within days, she was hugging the teachers, who would comfort her as I left to go to work. It was a lot harder for me than it was for her to adjust. :) I could not be happier with the educational experience my daughter has had at Amiguitos Preschool in Milwaukie. We speak solely Spanish at home and were super-excited to enroll our daughter in a Spanish-immersion Preschool. My daughter's confidence in speaking Spanish grew tremendously. After two weeks (everyday from 9-3) at Amiguitos, my daughter was asking fuller (more intelligent) questions in Spanish and making more complete sentences, on her own. Her confidence continues to soar. I loved seeing the projects that they worked on in class, too. Additionally, our daughter made new friends and grew comfortable with other adults. Anyway, I love talking with the teachers everyday, the director, and the other parents at Amiguitos. The director and teachers were very professional and courteous. Amiguitos has a warm, inviting, family-like feel to it, similar to what I would expect in a Spanish-speaking country. I would recommend Amiguitos Preschool to any of my family members, friends, or loved ones. I feel so fortunate to have found such a wonderful school. Pipster Prep was great--until it wasn't. We were one of the first families when the school opened…read morein May 2023 with just two classrooms, and stayed through April 2025 as it expanded to eight. Unfortunately, the quality of care and leadership didn't grow with it. While many of the teachers were kind and well-meaning, the majority were very young, newly trained through online programs, and often promoted with minimal hands-on experience. This inexperience showed, especially when it came to basic safety and communication. We raised several safety concerns over our time there: loose screws left in classrooms, unsecured furniture, choking hazards like popcorn and whole grapes on the snack menu, and toys with loose button batteries. Water beads--another well-known risk--were even used in class. We, and other families, were repeatedly brushed off or met with defensiveness when we brought these issues up. Our daughter has severe food allergies and had multiple reactions at school. Instead of ensuring a safe shared environment, the school had her eat meals alone at a table--at just 2 years old--while other students with allergies had entire foods banned from their classrooms for their safety. Even with discussions with their owner, Tessa, they don't seem to actually have a cohesive set protocol for handling allergies at their schools. Our daughter's school stored EpiPen was also allowed to expire by three months, only discovered when they went through medications for a state inspection scheduled the next day. There's only one classroom in the entire building with windows to the outside. The outdoor space is tiny, surfaced with hot rubber bark from recycled tires that stains clothes and skin when wet--definitely not designed with young children in mind. Multiple complaints and suggestions from parents were made over the two years we were there but nothing happened. Communication with the director, Jessica, was one of the most frustrating aspects. She often went weeks or even months without replying to emails, was rarely present during school hours, and didn't seem to support or equip teachers to navigate concerns with families. When we did hear from her, responses were often dismissive or defensive rather than collaborative. Eventually, we were blamed for "teacher burnout" simply for raising ongoing concerns about safety and our daughter's well-being. We appreciated the daily photos, but it often meant that teachers spent significant time on iPads instead of actively engaging with the children. For the high tuition we paid, our daughter frequently spent playtime drawing on a whiteboard with dried-out markers or sharing a single marker among many kids. In March 2025, we were suddenly told our family would not be allowed to return in the fall because our occasional concerns were"too much for Jessica's mental health". This came without any prior indication of issues or feedback. A few weeks later, we were immediately expelled from the school and received an email accusing us of "disruptive and inappropriate behavior." We had picked out daughter up early that day for a Doctor's appointment... Shockingly, Jessica sent an email to the entire school community sharing private details about our daughter's medical history, and invited other parents to "come into her office" to learn more about our family--something that was not only unethical, but a serious privacy violation. We were wowed by the newness of the school but should have done more due diligence as organizationally, it doesn't seem equipped to handle its rapid growth. Despite Jessica's experience as a preschool director, her lack of openness to feedback, poor communication, and disregard for legitimate safety concerns are deeply troubling. Since leaving, we've heard similar stories from other families and former staff. If you dig past the solicited 5-star reviews, you'll find more parents speaking up about the same issues. Advocating for your child's safety should never be treated as a threat or burden. That should have been our biggest red flag of all.
