Place is a hit/miss. You roll the dice but no one is pointing a gun at you to accept the barber that asks "are you ready?". You could say you're waiting for so and so (if you know their names). I just know Steven, the other guy that looks like Steven, and there's another barber with the tattoos, but I haven't seen them. Aside from that, if you need just a quick clean shadow fade/fade/taper fade, that's not to complicated, they should be able to get the job done. Which isn't bad for $18-25 (if you tip). I usually just get a taper feed on #1 and ask to texturize the top if not too long. You do have options around the area like "chop it up" or gandi's but you'll have to pay the price that is reasonable these days. I miss living down south in Kent. Love going in this shop for a haircut every few weeks. This is a family owned business and you can tell a lot of the customers are regulars and even bring their kids as well! All the staff are friendly and considerate of what kind of haircut you're looking for. They've been around I think for about 2 years now and you can tell they're popular because they usually have customers waiting! Typical wait time is about 5-20 min depending on the day and time you go in. They usually have more staff working during the peak days and hours to lessen wait times. Some customers specifically wait for specific barbers as well. For $16/17 for a men's haircut w/ tip it's usually about $20-25 which is an amazing deal for the service and speed. read more

My new barbershop. These guys have been at it for a while, and they have a nice space, friendly staff, and really good prices on all the basic men's cuts. Always plenty of parking. They're in a strip mall on the Speedway. There's a variety of businesses in both directions, thankfully with enough parking to go around. You walk in to a long wide suite space; waiting chairs down one side and barber stools down the other. There's a desk in the back. They even have a public restroom, which not every barber shop can boast. There are big flat screens on the wall, usually showing the game. One wall has lots of sports flags, the other has lots of framed photos of haircuts. The staff are quick, friendly, and professional. I get buzz cuts, and these guys go through all the extra tidying with cleanup clippers and the straight razor. I really appreciate all the detail. I shave my head a couple times to prolong the life of the cut, but having the neck and eyebrows and all that done is still something that makes an occasional trip to the barber more than worth it. Somebody is opening another barber shop even closer to my house, which didn't seem possible since these guys are so close. No matter what I can officially say these guys would/will be in the rotation permanently. read more

Yes, it is hit or miss. I've been a regular customer for years, however two of my last three haircuts with newer barbers have been terrible! I specifically told them what I wanted (and it's not complicated) but got something else. In addition, haircut was very "choppy" and uneven. It's a hit or miss with this place. Some barbers are good, some are terrible. My last visit was not good. I don't think the barber understood me. I said I wanted a fade, and he replied with "skin fade," which is not what I wanted. It's not what I got either. It turned out to be just a fade. He asked me what length I wanted on top, offering 1 or 2 finger length. I said 1, then said number 8, which is just a simple buzz cut with #8 attachment, but he proceeded to give me the worst scissor cut I've ever had. He also kept leaving the bangs in front. I had asked him twice to cut the front shorter, and still it was too long. I ended up trimming my hair on top with a hair trimmer at home because it was cut uneven. There were long and short hair chunks all over the top of my head. If I didn't have a hair trimmer at home, I would probably return to have my hair fixed by someone more competent. I like the owners of this place, but they should do something about some of their incompetent stylists. read more

$18 kids hair cut. I took my son here after he hadn't had a hairut for awhile, and his hair was getting to be too long to manage (to his shoulders). I usually go to Nics barbershop but Nic was on vacation for the week. The people were very nice and the place was relatively clean and had lots of tvs for entertainment. I showed the lady a photo of how my husband and I wanted it cut. Unfortunately, the lady obviously cut it WAY too short in the beginning but it was already too late. The cut came out VERY uneven in the front (didn't realize this until I got out to the car, the way it was brushed to the side made it look ok in the barbershop) and i had to go back in from the car to have them even it out. At this point, I was pretty frustrated. I thanked them, and I went back out to the car. I thought about it a bit more and I went back in to request a refund. (Which they did give me). I showed the lady what type of cut to give my son, and she cut it much too short and not the same style at all of what I showed her. I know hair grows back but I'm still really disappointed. I was also laughed at by another client when I went in to request a refund because apparently he thought my request was not warranted. First time here. I was weary of the reviews of the haircutters not listening to the customers, but decided to take a chance on the business because of low price and the reviews that talk of Bao and his cutters. Before starting my own cut, there was a wait of about 20 mins which I thought was very reasonable for a walk in. As I waited, I noticed that some of the younger cutters were actually listening to inputs to the customers, which made me feel a little less skeptical of the cut I would get. One thing that was much different from literally every other barbershop that I've been in is that they have all the customers facing away from the mirrors. That is, you can only see what's being done once they pass you the handheld mirror. There's an assortment of different style haircuts along the wall so I went ahead and chose one for my do. I had the older gentlemen cut my hair. The haircutter nodded and proceeded to started buzzing right away. He did not once use the mirror located behind me nor come to front to see if anything was even. The cut that I chose was #14, which has a relatively long top and sides, but my entire head was cut to about a size 3 buzzer length. I stated that it was much too short and not what I asked for. He proceeded to say that I can use hair product. I again stated that it was too short and not anything near what I asked for. Now, I'm not entirely upset over a cut. It'll be a couple of months before I'll have my hair again, and I know he's working for the money. I can understand that Bao is trying to help some of the community by providing jobs, but I think some should be trained more in cutting hair to keep customers happy and reviews consistent. If you need a simple cut that is short, any of the workers will do. But if you want a specific cut, I would suggest waiting for one of the younger cutters to be available. read more

He didn't really put in a great time and effort for it but Andy, a Hair god. You can really see how hard he tries and I love it, he knows how to style it! The barbers are highly skilled and take great pride in their work. If you like a close-cut haircut, this is the place for you. I asked the barber to "leave it long." This is my second time coming to Mukilteo Barbershop and both experiences have been great. I came in on a Wednesday mid afternoon and didn't have to wait at all. My Barber was very thorough and took his time. He would mix in some conversation while cutting my hair like most places, but I didn't mind the non taking part. At the end of the haircut, he used some shaving cream and a straight razor to line up my neck and part of my facial hair. This is definitely a cool bonus to the haircut. There are big flat screen tv's mounted to the wall playing NBC SC and a car show happened to be on. The total time for my experience was less than an hour. The haircut is only $14, which is unheard of these days. This is an amazing value and I will definitely will be coming back. read more

5 stars to Mukilteo Barbershop for always delivering a quality haircut. My husband is lucky enough to have found a good barber after having relocated to the Pacific NW. He always goes to Bao who is highly skilled in quality fades and line ups. On Saturdays they do tend to get busy but with 6 barber chairs quickly working through the line, the wait is never more than 15 minutes. All for the fantastic price of $14 for a haircut which is unheard of these days. They do accept credit cards as well. I don't know about the other barbers but Bao speaks English perfectly so communicating the desired look has never been an issue. They do have plenty of numbered pictures posted on the walls with various haircuts so you can always point to the desired number to translate the look you're going for. read more

Bao is the man! Bao has absolutely stunning accuracy and pays extremely close attention to detail. Never again will I have to spend hours looking for a quality cut. I don't even know where to start with how well he did, he shaped my beard perfectly how I asked and trimmed it down to the exact length I was looking for, I asked for a rather complicated combover medium fade with a part line and he delivered a better haircut than the picture I was using for reference. I do like this barbershop, perhaps not the barber I got. As soon as I walked in, I was seated, which was just what I needed since that particular day did not have enough hours for the tasks before me. That was the best part of the entire experience. The sign on the wall wall states a cut is $14, so I sat down. One hour and twenty minutes later my cut was done! I was so frustrated at the slow pace of this particular barber, I will never use her again! She must have shaved my face five times! not sure why, it takes five minutes with my usual barber and I thought he was slow! My face was so burned from her constantly using the straight edge for no apparent reason and applying the towel treatment (which I never asked for, i specifically asked for a cut). Here's the punch...after she was done, the charge was $36!!! Long story short, for $14 a cut, a great place. I would be as specific as I can with them before you sit down on the chair and make sure you agree on a price. Don't assume they will respect what is written on their wall. I'm sure regular customers love this place, it does have a clean, friendly vibe, I just had a bad experience (I will updated my next experience if I ever go back there, at least they accept to cut the hair of brown people unlike the "Barber Shop Stop" in Everett) read more

Was very impressed with the quality of the fade I received. My only criticism (which isn't much) is that there can sometimes be a bit of a language barrier. So you need to be very clear about what you want. Maybe bring a picture. Steven was great and used a straight razor to clean up my beard lines and sideburns on top of the hard fade. read more

First visit I was ok, they didn't do that great... walked out disappointed but figured I'll give them another chance. Today I walked out furious and with my son crying! So I was going to go back to a place I usually go to get my post Corona haircut, but they very rudely said they were booked up for the rest of the day. I am soooo glad they were, because I found this gem of a barbershop! Everyone working there was very friendly and while it didn't take a long time for him to cut my hair, the care and precision was amazing! I have a couple cowlicks and my hair usually never looks very good right after a cut, but this time was the exception.
