I never bought insurance from them. However, a lady I spoke with there, Helen, gave me the cons about the house I was intending to buy when I sought her for help with flood insurance. She explained to me I was in a "special risk flood zone," a fact the seller, agent and lawyer never revealed or had knowledge of. In this house buying game, I found the people who were most upfront about the cons regarding my prospective home were the insurance people. Even after I got a quote for home insurance from another agency, Helen told me to go with them because she couldn't beat it. Worst insurance company ever! They place lot's of adverts on line but very poor quality. I called them no less than 3 times trying to get a simple small business account quote for my new shop in Hoboken. It's important to me to use local services and work with in the community. They were apathetic and disinterested in providing even the most basic of services. I in the end am glad I didn't work with them as I believe I would have received the same apathy when and if I had needed to use insurance. We have had our insurance here for about 25 years. Most of the staff are also still there so I haven't had to deal with new people every year which is definitely a plus and a tribute to the company that can hold on to their employees for 20 + years. A rarity today. They are experienced but not stale. The office decor has kept up with the times all the latest computer equipment and they even have some great window displays. Most importantly they have a lot of companies so they tailor the company to fit my needs and don't try to fit me into their company. read more

The owner of Muller Insurance responded my review without ANY supportive LAW. I have requested multiple times of the LAW which entitles the insurance to request me to sign the cancellation request. I have received NONE. I DID provide them with a written request with my signature and date, just not sign its form. In addition, I have asked multiple times about my refund. I paid premium of full term, from May 1, 2019 to May 1, 2020. I cancelled the Policy effective September 1, 2019. So far, no response from the company. The owner of the Muller Insurance, this is not its business name, the legal name is R. John Muller LLC, accused me of using a fake name Pat. It is the name of another issued on the Policy. The Owner of R. John Muller LLC accusation is false. He accused something without any proof. My experience is true, there is nothing fake about it. I am still waiting for my refund. Neither R. John Muller LLC nor Farmer Insurance of Salem provided response regarding when I should receive the refund. I will file complaints against both companies with New Jersey Division of Banking and Insurance. The following is my original review: Stay away from this insurance agency if you don't want headaches! Also stay away from Philadelphia Contributorship and Farmer of Salem County. In my opinion, this insurance agency works for insurance companies; not for the customers who purchased insurance policies and paid insurance premiums. The R. John Muller took my money no trouble; but when I needed it to advocate on my behalf towards insurance companies, it did not do anything for me. Rather, it sat with insurances companies and even want to force me to sign a cancellation notice knowing there is NO laws in NJ supporting its requirements. Here is my experience. In April 2019, I was looking insurance companies to insure my rental property and my house. The insurance agent Rosa found good policies for me. I paid premiums and policies were issued. Then, in May 2019, the insurer, Philadelphia Contributorship inspected my rental property and cited the age of roof is close to the end of life. The insurer sent a notice of cancellation citing the age of roof. This kind of notice is not uncommon. In general, the insurer would withdraw the cancellation or reinstate the policy if the roof is replaced. I was not worried and I planned to hire contractor to replace the roof. In the meanwhile, I caught an inspector who trespassed into my property without my permission. The inspector worked for the Philadelphia Contributionship. I complained to the insurer and insurance agency for the criminal conduct. I purchased insurance policy but did not give blank permission for anyone to enter my property without my permission. The inspector did not event to make appointment or call me in advance or not EVEN to ring doorbell. After I complained the trespass to the CEO of Philadelphia Contributor, it cancelled my policy in light of the newly replaced roof. I believe the cancellation is the retaliation of my complaining of the criminal conduct. R. John Muller did not do anything for me with Philadelphia Contributorship regarding the policy cancellation; even after I told the agent that I hired contractor, signed contract, paid deposit, scheduled installation and building permit was issued. R. John Muller contacted another insurer to inquire about a policy for my rental property. The insurer Farmers Insurance of Salem County quickly took advantage of my situation. It asked for about $1000 more premium for less or about the same coverage as Philadelphia contributorship offered. It also asked unreasonable documents. I don't understand how the same property with brand new roof would require much more premium for the same or less coverage. Now, I know the insurance agency is not working for me. I guess the higher premium, the higher commission and income for the agency. So, I told the agency that I want to cancel the policy for my other property. The agent came back requiring me to sign a cancellation notice. I told the agent that there is no such law which requires the customer to sign a notice of cancellation. If there is one, please provide a copy of such laws. Without any laws presented to me, the agent came back to me again to ask for the signed cancellation notice. I told her to provide me with legal basis. I am going to file a complaint with New Jersey State Division of Bank and Insurance. In summary, stay away from R. John Muller LLC, Philadelphia Contributorship and Farmer of Sales County. read more
