Before I knew it, I was paying the Full Year of both Renters and Auto. Saving $200 which I thought may have bern worth the switch. Not so fast..I couldnt get their Mobile App to work, did not get confirmation of how much I paid, finding that there are different departments based on what you needed, I decided to call Amara for help. Left 2 messages with no call back. I then called Customer Service to answer some questions that came up, waited on the phone 40 min, got a gent, who put me on hold---forever. I then called my previous Insurance, they had not Cancelled me yet because Amara never sent the notice to me to forward on. That was actually lucky so I told them I wanted to come back. Ok Tried Amara again, too busy, but no call back all day. I called Customer Service and got a wonderful woman who Cancelled my Auto & sent to Allstate. My understanding is that the agency had all documentation necessary to process my refund by July 17. Despite that, my refund was not promptly processed. Instead, I was contacted with a more competitive premium only after I had made the decision to cancel my policy. From my perspective, this raises serious concerns about whether my interests as a long-standing customer were given the same consideration as the agency's interest in retaining my business. Had my policy been reviewed in good faith over the years, particularly in light of my driving record, I question why a substantially lower premium was not offered long before I decided to leave. As a consumer, I reasonably expected timely processing of my refund, fair treatment, transparent communication, and a periodic review of my policy to ensure it remained competitively priced. In my opinion, those expectations were not met. The unnecessary delay in processing my refund and the last-minute effort to retain my business left me feeling that customer loyalty was secondary to the agency's financial interests. After decades with Allstate, this experience has caused me to lose confidence in both Mr. Alfassa's agency and the company. I cannot recommend this office and Allstate because of these experiences. I implore anyone with an existing policy with Allstate to review their policy periodically and to seek more competitive prices. I found a rate that was 50% less than what Mr. Alfassa was charging me annually and you can too!
