The good: the staff (front desk + initial nurse you get) are friendly and the place is clean. The bad: The PA that comes in is incredibly transactional. I'm sure they're overworked, but it does suck coming in and feeling like I, as a patient, am inconveniencing them. That was likely the quickest appointment i've ever had and it was just because it felt like the PA was speed running everything to make sure they did everything they're legally required to. Overall, maybe it was a one off and they're just exhausted. Or maybe the other PA's are friendlier and actually take the time to listen and actually pretend to care, no clue and I don't think I'll come back to this one to find out. I took my daughter in this morning as she had not been feeling well for a few days. We got in 15 minutes prior to their 8 am opening. The receptionist checking us in was very nice and got us checked in quickly. We waited just under 10 minutes before getting called back. The nurse and ARNP we saw were fantastic. Great experience over all when you have a kiddo that's not feeling well. They took their time listened to us and thoroughly explained things as we went along. Because the UrgentCare in Lakewood is a walk-in only, sometimes the wait can be a long time. I think when I went last year I waited about 1.5 hrs, this recent time I ended up waiting 2.5. They did apologize and explain that they were down one doctor so that made sense. All that to say, my only gripe is that it's a little hard to predict the wait time but that's to be expected when you don't have an appointment. Overall, I'm very pleased with this facility and the staff there. Both times I have gone, everyone was very professional and friendly, from the ladies at the front desk, to the nurses that took me to check my vitals, to the medical providers themselves. Both times the medical providers spoke and treated me as if I was their regular patient, even though I had never met either of them before. This second time I received a phone call a few days after my visit from one of the nursing assistants just to check up on my status. She asked how I was feeling, if I felt the medications were helping, asked if I had any questions or concerns, and encouraged me to call back or visit if I felt like my flu symptoms got worse. I was very surprised and it definitely made me feel like they cared. Whoever that was, thank you! Even though I live in Tacoma, this is where I consider my regular go-to doctor's office. read more

I went to the urgent care on January 2019 for body aches and had to wait 4 hours to be seen. Other people that came later were called before me. I understand that people are called based on problems but still, some people looked fine and were called before me. When I finally got to see the PA (Physician Assistant) she was not very helpful. I went there because of body aches and overall flu symptoms. The PA I saw was (Lynette Hamman) she told me she did not know why I had body aches. The problem here is that most PA I have consulted seems to know little of many health problems. She told me she had no idea why I had body aches and she is a PA? Where did she study? I do not like PA because they tend to have less training and lack knowledge in a lot of medical issues. She put in my chart that I went for a sore throat, no! I went to the urgent care because of body aches! She did it all wrong. She then gave me a prescription which I lost in my way to the bus and refused to provide me with a new one. She could at least gave me a different one. She simply said no. They do not repeat prescriptions. So, if you get a hard copy prescription and you lose it they will not give you a new one. You will have to go somewhere else or deal with the medical issue yourself. This was the third time I go there and every time I have gotten there I get PA but their training is less than a real MD doctor, so don't be surprised if they misdiagnosed you. I will not return there and will rather go to a walk-in clinic or emergency room. MultiCare urgent care is full of PA and boy I hate them. Often these PAs do not have the same training that a real MD DOCTOR HAS. Keep away from this place unless you are on a budget but in the long run, if they misdiagnosed you then you will end up paying more to see a real Doctor with MD. read more

I visited this multicare for the first time yesterday and was beyond pleased with the experience and service. I made an online check in (to save my spot in line) and showed up 15min prior to my appointment as noted. I got a text update letting me know of my appointment and the check in process was quick and easy. The staff did seem a little discombobulated at first glance, but everyone I interacted with was respectful, quick and personable. This MultiCare is not bad but for the recent visit was quick and painless. It was a little too quick. A few days later, I went next to the MultiCare Express in Rite Aid (same plaza) and was told that 'I look fine and no fever.' Going on a week now, and I decided to go to Madigan ER to get checked. The doctor told me I had a bad upper respiratory infection to where he basically said I have snot backed up everywhere to include my ears. He gave me 5 medications to ease my symptoms. Normally, I have great service at MultiCare, but they didn't seem too interested. The doctors was basically in a hurry. I'm glad I went to Madigan Hospital. Funny - I thought for sure Madigan would give me bad service but it was the other way around this time. My throat had been killing me for 3 days! I couldn't sallow very well, eating was incredibly painful and so was drinking so I was also dehydrated. I looked up my health insurance plan to see where I could go and this place came up. It wasn't too far from me. It's right next to the petco I go to for my dog so it was convenient enough. The outside of the building suggests that this is a new location because of how new and fresh everything was. The inside lobby has video games and puzzles for kids and a TV for adults. When I entered the staff were friendly and took my name. I had about 5 people ahead of me, so it took maybe 20 minutes to actually get signed into the clinic. The wait took a while after that because of how busy it was, so in total I was there for 3 hours, but that's also including my own time. I ended up having strep throat and got antibiotics as well as some other medications to help with the pain and swelling. After the first day I felt so much better. I am so thankful to have had a caring nurse and doctor who answered all of my questions and were kind to me. It was a good visit all in all. I went back the next day because my boyfriend also had strep. There was no wait for him on an afternoon on Sunday. All in all it was a good experience and better than most Urgent cares I have been to in the past. read more

I would NOT recommend taking your child to this location. My 2 yo son has been fevering for 8 straight days with a runny nose and a cough. Military Nurses had advised for us to treat at home but I knew something else must've been brewing so I took him in (thinking it may be an ear infection). We saw DR. COBB and he seemed to be in a rush, did a very NON-thorough exam, was rushing out the door as I was trying to ask him questions, and said my son was fine and was just fighting a bug. We left with no answers. That night, his fever went up even higher and he was an absolute mess. I KNEW something was NOT right so we took him in AGAIN to another location (Indigo MultiCare Puyallup) and sure enough, he had a MAJOR double ear infection with bulging ear drums. I was PISSED! The PA at Indigo said there was NO way this major of an infection was not already present at the time we went to see Cobb a few hours prior. If you want a thorough exam, go to Indigo Multi Care in Puyallup - NOT Lakewood. read more

I injured my knee on a plane on Good Friday and tried to go to an urgent care on Saturday. I made an appointment at Lakewood Multicare urgent care for Easter Sunday because they have X-ray there. I figured everyone would be cranky because they had to work but from the receptionists to the X-ray technician to the doctor everyone was kind, helpful and very professional. I received excellent care and from check in to check out was very quick. This place is awesome. I went in around 8:45am on a Friday because of a persistent sore throat. The front desk receptionists are very friendly. Right when I walked in, they had a smile on their faces and were ready to help. Check in was quick and I was called back within 10 minutes. The nurse and PA were nice and efficient. They listened to my concerns and were very reassuring. Turns out I had strep throat so they sent my prescription to my pharmacy and I was done! Went here on the suggestion of my friend who raved about it. I'm a military spouse and I had a really bad experience at Madigan and vowed to never go back there. We went early in the morning when they first opened and only had to wait about 10-15 minutes. I was seen for a sore throat. They take you seriously here and actually help you! Also, they really know their stuff and have good judgement. At first I doubted I had strep throat (because I've never had it before and it was still early) and when she took a throat sample it came back negative. She prescribed me antibiotitcs for the treatment of strep anyway based on my symptoms and it's a really good thing she did because my condition worsened. This place is my first choice when it comes to urgent care. I came down with a fast-acting urinary tract infection that kept me up all night and I had to go in on a Sunday morning. Everyone was so caring and professional as always and I was in and out in less than one hour. I've had these infections in the past so I was glad to start on antibiotics quickly.
