Not good. Didn't even have a physician on sight. Daughter was incorrectly diagnosed by a nurse because no doctor was on sight. X-ray specialist didn't know how to get an accurate X-ray, and then upon leaving were told we would be shown to the door. We were not rude, impatient or loud. DON'T GO HERE. INCOMPETENT. We took our four-year-old here because he had been having flu-like symptoms. The physician assistant we saw had a incredibly cold bedside manner. It was very clear that she did not care about us at all. We were just another case that she needed to get through. She asked questions in a rapid-fire manner and did not even wait for the answer before the next question. She was very matter of fact with our son and it's clear that she doesn't have what it takes to be in pediatrics. They took a Covid/Flu nasal swab test and said it would need to be sent out to be run and we would hear back in 24 hours. After two days we called and the person who answered could not have cared less. She was very nonchalant about it and asked if we had hallucinated the whole test! We insisted the place took place and we had to press her to ask the nurse about it. She said she would and get back to us but we know that we will never hear back. We will NEVER take our son back there ever again. read more

#THANKYOUTHURSDAY Urgent Care is never the spot you want to be at, but when you need it, it's frustrating when you're not able to get in. This was the case for me this week - my son came down with a nasty cough and was complaining of ear pain, so I wanted to get him in and make sure we weren't dealing with anything serious. The Point Ruston Indigo was the ONLY place that was close-ish by that had same day appointments and easy online booking. Thaaaank gooodnessss. This was our first time to this particular urgent care, and I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and updated it is! I know a lot of the businesses at Ruston are newer, and this spot is no exception. All of the staff was really nice. The front desk woman was nice and got us back as quickly as she could, and the nurse/medical assistant who we dealt with for the first half of our appointment was so great with my son. He had to get the nasal swab which is never fun, but she was awesome with him and was able to get it done with next to no tears. The actual provider was also really nice and got us out with our prescription for antibiotics quickly. When we left I got a call from them that we had left my daughter's binky behind (which was yet to be discovered) which I thought was so kind of them! I know some kids are very attached to a certain type of binky, so that could've been catastrophic. Thank you to this office for providing the community with great and efficient care! read more

Made an appointment and was to be "called" when they were ready to see me. I received 4 text messages that all arrived at exactly the same time, the fourth of which notified me of appointment cancellation due to no response. I had to drive down to the office because their phone does not allow you to talk to a person. The person at the front desk could only offer another appointment after several more hours and using the same faulty text option that I just explained didn't work. She didn't seem to care and only kept repeating that it was my fault for not responding to text messages I didn't receive. DONT TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE. This review is NOT for the James center location. To be very clear, this review is for indigo at Ruston way in Tacoma. On 4/21, I took my 10 month old daughter to indigo at James center for a splotchy red rash. Here, we received excellent and timely care. The doctors and nurses were lovely, they gave our baby a small dose of a steroid and told us to come back tomorrow if the rash returned. When we asked what to do if the rash persisted beyond your opening hours, he recommended we go to the ER at Mary bridge. Luckily, the treatment seemed to work over night, but the rash did come back the following morning. Because the James center was closing on this day, 4/22, they suggested we go to another location, so we chose Indigo at Ruston. We called at 8:45am and were added to the wait list, we were told it would be about a 2 hours. Tso hours later, at 10:45am, we noticed the rash continuing to spread, so we opted to head to the clinic prior to receiving their text. Once there, they told us it would be another hour before we would be seen. We left for an hour and returned upon receiving the text. At 11:50, When we arrived to check in, we were told that the provider on duty "read through the notes from our previous visit" and told us we were instructed to go to the emergency department, so that's what they wanted us to do. (This is not true. We were only instructed to go to the ED after hours.) At this point, we had been waiting for a total of 3 hours and the rash was visibly spreading all over my baby's face. My husband and I were noticeably concerned. We explained to the man that we were not from the area- we live in California and are just here visiting family. This man was unfriendly and showed no sympathy. He begrudgingly went back to the provider to "ask if they would reconsider and see us anyway." We were left waiting for several more minutes. Finally I approached the desk in tears and asked for the providers name because I was upset at their refusal to even put eyes on my baby, and told them that I was planning to leave a review about this experience. Only then did he apologize and tell us we were not being refused service and that they would in fact see us, he also added that they would charge us for being seen. He would not tell me the providers name, and regretfully I didn't manage to get his name either. When I asked which hospital was closest, he listed 3 quickly and made no effort to help us any further - even after I told him a second time that we were not from the area, were visibly shaken and emotional, and needed advice. I'd also like to note, at this point - 12:30pm, there were zero people in the waiting room and not another patient in sight. We ended up going to Mary bridge children's and received great care. All our daughter needed was a low dosage of antihistamine. Because of the hostile attitude of your staff and the complete refusal of service, we were put through more than 3 hours of unnecessary concern about our first and only baby. This was an emotionally unnecessary experience and I will be escalating this situation as far as possible. read more

This place is horrible with its communication. They say they take your insurance but then they say they don't when you drive all they way down there. The front desk person doesn't really know why they just have to in force it. This is not only time multicare has let me down. It's sad when a big organization can't be organized and take all the same insurance like there other offices do why dose indigo have to be different. Last Sunday, July 23, 2023, I took my 96 year old mother to this location. I called and scheduled an appointment. Staff who answered the phone were friendly, supportive, and conducted themselves in a highly professional manner. When we arrived, we were greeted in a friendly and professional manner. Shortly after I checked in my mother, Sara (nurse), greeted us in the waiting area. She escorted us to the examination room. She was friendly, compassionate, empathetic, and supportive. Thank-you Sara for putting my mother at ease and for bringing a smile to her face. You are an inspiration and a credit to your profession! After Sara left the examination room, Kevin (Physician Assistant) entered the room. He was upbeat, friendly, compassionate, empathetic, supportive, a phenomenal communicator with exceptional bedside manners, a healthcare professional who demonstrated and epitomizes the pinnacle of professionalism within the healthcare profession. No one likes to have to go to urgent care, but when you do, it's important you're taken care of urgently. The team here was outstanding and took really good care of me. They were very empathetic and did everything they could to make me comfortable. They took their time with me, educated me and helped me determine next steps, which was to go to the ER. I scheduled a physical online and called in and received instructions to make sure my daughter could get care. The next morning, a person named Tasha stated they wouldn't do a school physical there and they sent me on a wild goose chase trying to get help for my daughter recommending Mary Bridge Urgent care, which there is only a Mary Bridge ER in Tacoma. After the goose chase I called back and spoke with a person named Taylor who could not see notes about what transpired, but eventually she put Tasha back on the phone. Tasha stated they don't have capacity for physicals. My daughter's pediatrician at Pediatric NW had confirmed a school physical is the same as an annual physical, so why this physical was not within their capacity I'm still confused by. So, I went to a different Indigo at the James Center. They confirmed they would to a physical so I scheduled one there and the visit happened the next day without issue. So, I recommend the James Center Indigo whole heartedly. If the Ruston location is not a full-service Indigo as the website describes, they should probably put asterisks by it or something. Perhaps the person made assumptions about me that I can't explain. Either way, I was able to get my daughter care at another Indigo facility, but this is not one that I would recommend considering I spoke with 3 different people and got 3 different answers and had to go to a different location for help. read more

I've had to use this location on several occasions while waiting for my primary care to go thru. Every time I have been in I have been treated with kindness, concern and compassion. I've sure I've seen each doctor by now and each one has taken the time to thoroughly explain what is going on and how to fix it. I have been shown more compassion and understanding at this center than I have at any other office or facility in this area. While there is nothing we can do about the increase in cost of medical care or what our insurance will cover, it's nice to know there is a place you can go where people genuinely care and are willing to go the extra mile to be sure you got all you needed out of your visit. To me thats worth it's weight in gold. Thankful there is a place I can go for me and my family when we have medical conditions or concerns that need addressed. Then they will gather outside of your exam room and talk about you unprofessionally. There was no one in the lobby when i arrived and they told me that it would be an hour wait, which i was fine with because it's urgent care. It's expected. Anyways, an hour goes by and the lady took me back to my room and all the doors were open with no one in the rooms besides maybe two rooms. Well, i sat in my room for about 20 minutes and the MA said it would be about 15 more minutes and i was fine with it. Well 20 more minutes went by and she came in again. And said 10 more minutes.. well the doctor did not come in until an hour in a half later for a 2 minute visit. I was very frustrated and i felt like i wasn't being heard. Many people told me not to go here but i just gave it a shot since i live down the road.. and now i know why. The thing that annoyed me the most is when they keep telling me that it's going to be so and so minutes and then hours goes by.. if they would have told me hey the doctor is busy at the moment it might take about 45-1 hour then cool I'll wait, but if you tell me 10 minutes, i expect to be Seen within those 10 minutes. read more

Don't go to this place to get flu shots or any vaccines. I get a flu shot and TB test every year for my work. Since I live near this place I decided to get my shots there. Everywhere I have ever gone my insurance has covered the full amount of my flu shot and TB test. They are charging me $165 for an office visit, which no one has ever charged me. Not only that they didn't send me a bill until almost a year after I had my shots. I called them to complain and they would not assist me. They never even told me I would be charged a office visit. If zero stars was an option I would have given them zero stars. I will never go there again. read more

Best urgent care experience ever. The online appointment was easy to use and very simple. I had a pretty basic cold/cough/congestion for about 2 weeks and was concerned it was affecting my eyes and might need some intervention. I showed up one hour early hoping to be seen. They checked me in, collected my copay and got me in a room, and took my vitals in about 15 minutes. I waited less than 5 minutes for the ARNP/MD, then immediately was taken for an x-ray. Whole appointment took less than 45 minutes. I've been to the more traditional Multicare facilities and really enjoyed the more modern, clean and current feel of Indigo. Will absolutely return for care if needed again. read more

Took my daughter here last night. She made an appointment the evening prior and when we got there they let us know they were an hour behind schedule. We sat in our car waiting for their text. I will say they did get us in a few minutes prior to an hour so they were definitely accurate with their timing which I appreciated. We saw the nurse and were told my daughter would need an X-ray. She was given a gown to change into and to remove anything metal, etc. She also said the X-ray tech may come back in and grab her before she gets back. We waited for a few minutes and someone else did come in pretty quickly. (Giving two stars not one just based on this first part of our experience) This nurse sat down asked the same questions again and asked to feel around my daughters back to see exactly where her pain was coming from. Once pinpointed she told us she'll need an X-ray (yea, already got that message the first time). BUT she said they can't do X-rays there and we would need to go to Allenmore. Now totally confused, why would one nurse have her change to get an X-ray but then be told they can't do X-rays there just to refer us somewhere else? Plus the X-ray from allenmore will go back to them for review and we will need to wait another few days for them to get back to us with the results. The appointment was a waste of time. We knew she needed an X-ray. We went there to get treated not just to be cattle-herded to another place. I chose to go to this urgent care because I've had good experiences here in the past. However this time was awful and felt like we were given the runaround just for them to be able to bill us multiple times. Ridiculous and will definitely not go back if this is how they choose to operate. read more

Dr. Parminde Singh took "care" of my son on 3/13/20. My son had eye issues that were getting worse. Singh (I'm not calling this man a doctor, I'm sorry) was abrupt, condescending, officious... just not a great person. What made him worse was the quality of care. He dismissed my son's condition as "dry eye" and sent him home but not before charging him for the visit (about $200). So, no medication, no treatment, just sent home. We flew our son home since his eye wasn't getting any better (we live in Los Angeles), took him to our dermatologist who determined our son had eczema on his eyelid. He determined this because he actually examined him, something Dr. Singh either didn't do or did so in a minimal manner. My son is fine, our family is fine but we feel it necessary to let Dr. Singh know in no uncertain terms that his care was substandard. MultiCare seems terrific.
