I had to call her the next day and only waited for a minute to have someone pick up the phone! I have waited over 2 hours on the phone in Portland Oregon and have had the worst experience at other Concentra's. Seattle Concentra the employees are not especially helpful but better than Portland however you have to kick the drugged out bums out of the doorway to get into the building as they sleep in front of the door. This location with these employees rocked my world and really impressed me with the speed and thoroughness and ability to make stuff happen. My interactions with every employee was positive and especially Dr. Carina Burns she leaned on her training and helped save my eye which I ended up at a second specialist surgeon and getting surgery a few days later saving my eyesight! Thank you, the best experience hands down at all the Concentra's between Portland and Seattle! So impressed I'm sending them a thank you card. Which I have never done so that's saying something.

I wasn't taken back into an exam room until 01:40 PM--not a big deal. However, at 02:30 PM, I was taken to another exam room to wait for the doctor, and at 03:35, I finally left the exam room to ask the front desk when I was going to see the doctor since I had to go next door for a Physical Abilities Test before they closed, and I live over an hour away, so it would be ridiculous to have to drive back to this location to finish an exam that I checked in for at 01:00 PM. I told a person named Juan that I had been waiting for the doctor for over an hour, and he said, "Uh huh... sure you have," and turned around to face his computer. So I said, "'Uh huh, sure'? That's how you're going to talk to me?", and he said, "What're you gonna do about it?", in front of 5 or 6 female employees, who were nowhere nearly as bit*chy as Juan. So I said, "What am I gonna do about it!?", and the doctor who was sitting around with the staff chatting it up took me back into my room, and the doctor told me that I was being disrespectful, so I asked him how on Earth was I being disrespectful, and he said, "You're obviously slow." The doctor told me that I was "slow." At this point, I popped off. I told the doctor he was disgusting, unprofessional, etc. I don't even know what I said after that. Then the room got quiet, and he was shaking and stuttering and was like, "Well you're the one who's upset, my heartrate isn't even elevated." Bro what? He was setting paper down on imaginary surfaces while his hands were shaking. I submitted a formal complaint through the Concentra website on 01/14/2026. I haven't heard back from them about how I got mobbed by a bunch of Hispanics/Latinos... at a Border Patrol Agent medical appointment.

Or maybe the other PA's are friendlier and actually take the time to listen and actually pretend to care, no clue and I don't think I'll come back to this one to find out. A bit later a tech came to get me. I felt glad it was a familiar face because just a bit ago my husband had to complete the same test. It was just like completing a review. I am happy that I get the same test. It is very easy. It is very small and compact. It is a few small pieces to put on plus a watch device. The instructions was much easier than finding the place. The tech name was Danielle. If you get her, she will make you laugh. I enjoyed her very much.

Additionally, she frequently used medical terminology without explaining it in layman's terms. Even when I indicated that I did not understand what she meant, she did not pause to clarify. A friend who works in healthcare had come with me and luckily explain the terminology to me afterwards Finally, while she verbally advised me to avoid heavy lifting and sudden movements, when I asked, she refused to provide any form of written note or documentation for my employer. It was good during the pandemic for getting mandatory Covid tests before procedures and surgeries. Then it kind of lost its glory. If you get a provider who is straightforward then, you are doing well. And an organized system that keeps up with medications and allergies. They failed at this because they use the EPIC system. This means that your current health issues along with medication are following you if they use that system. This place appear not to study the patient's files before seeing them. I am glad I keep list of medications when I go to doctors or dentist. I get they get swamped with so many patients but taking a quick glance helps avoid those unnecessary repeat visits. Ugh! I went initially for that awful toe pain and was told by Dr Kirkwood that no X-ray was needed and this was an ingrown toenail that needed to be corrected. He said he could do it but he would rather a podiatrist do it because they have more tools than the urgent care did. However, I did not have a good experience with the Podiatrist down the street. After that visit, I returned asking to see Dr Kirkwood but he was not in office. How disappointing! I ended up being dismissed by the provider in office that day. Guess what he did not obviously look over Dr Kirkwood's notes. So I ended up calling my family doctor and getting better results. Dr Kirkwood has a great bedside manner and whoever gets him is lucky. So yes it is a hit and miss. If you find another urgent care good for you. This is pretty much a gamble. People with complex health issues and take a lot of medication should probably look for other options. I do thank Dr Kirkwood for his kindness and trying hard.

Care was literally EXCEPTIONAL at every level. Modern tech allowed them to run vitals, lab test, prescribe meds, even provided a chest xray right in my living room. They informed me of everything, every step of the way and were very helpful & educational, about meds, my condition and took an active role in genuinely helping me get not only properly diagnosed but on my way back to health.
