PSYCHOTIC co-owner who takes pleasure in publicly BULLYING visitors! Read all the "lowest rated" reviews before heading here. Many people say the exact same thing. What actually happened: I came in and sat down, right away we got a legal document with all rules and regulation and menu was also in a legal document type. Just typed out on white paper (about 6 pages, see photo) it felt more like a contract than a café menu. I wanted to actually see what sweets they had so I came up to their counter. I chatted with a server lady who was nice, and I took a video of cookies I wanted to get (didn't even think much of that!). Right away the co-owner woman rudely told me to stop recording (there were no signs saying not to record but apparently that's in the 6 page document we got). I called her out on her rudeness and told her I will be leaving as I do not take being disrespected lightly (and that I would delete the video). She for some bizarre reason decided to ESCORT me out! (I was already leaving) making the situation far more dramatic than necessary and ensuring other customers were aware of it. It felt intentionally humiliating and completely disproportionate to what had happened. I don't understand how these people are in business or why so many good reviews. I trust many reviewers just simply haven't had the "pleasure" of meeting that owner (or are fake) In addition, this was the first cafe ever that had black tarp on its windows making sure nobody from the outside sees whats inside. This makes me question this place even further... Her going off on me like that SIMPLY because I took video also makes me question something is not right with this business. The co-owner is clearly unstable, takes very clear pleasure in disrespecting visitors. I would not support this business, eat her food and especially would not bring my dog here under any circumstance. read more

We don't have a dog but are dog lovers so stopped by this coffee shop to to see what it was about. We were so happy we did... Great selection of coffees and snacks... Amazing warm atmosphere for humans and doggos... The seating area is cozy and separated from the food service area so no worry about contamination or anything. The servers were extremely friendly and helpful. We ended up ordering an apple pie for an event we had the next day and it was one of the best pies I've ever had. Stop reading this review and go immediately, great great establishment! read more

So so cute, perfect place to grab a bite or coffee with your doggo by your side. All the dogs were so sweet. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming too! We just had coffee/ drinks and they were all wonderful ( I loved the Nutella latte!) but I'd love to go back to try their waffles as well. You can play board games there too! I'd go back to Hamilton just to visit again, great spot! read more

Very cozy & spacious personal coffee house located in a plaza in a burb there. They specialize in organic, fair trade coffee, but I ended up w/ the jasmine tea. Also sell coffee beans in a tin, and quite a bit of pet merchandise to buy too, hence, BARKery lol But what stood out is they make their own baked goods, and the chocolate croissant & canoli is recommended! She even injected the fresh cream as I ordered it too. Plenty of seating, and sofa/armchairs too. read more

Absolutely amazing staff - so friendly, always remember me and my dog, and even my order! I keep bringing new people here because it is such a wonderful experience. I'm from the states and here on a visit. I love this place. The owners are friendly and the food is great. I had a vegan MLT which was wonderful. Jake, my dog, had a blast. Love the concept. Gave it two tries as the first time was made to feel VERY uncomfortable by the folks who worked there ( I think owners). Thought maybe it was just a bad day. Second experience was worse. Their food was amazing, the place itself comfortable, the patrons nice, chaos with dogs enjoyable...BUT ....The folks running it treated us like we were imposing by being there. Definitely made to feel unwelcome- which appears to be deliberate. Very strange for a business. I'm a decent spender, prefer to support small businesses, am a dog owner and lover. I wouldn't bring my dog there or go back for a third try...the energy from the people running it is not cool. Too bad- with so many positive reviews I'm confused, but not interested in being treated like that a third time. read more

I love coming here because my dog gets to play with other dogs while I do work on my laptop. They have little knick-knacks for pets on a wall, armchairs and sofas around the place, and they separate their kitchen from the main area to keep the food clean. It was only okay for me because the chai tea latte I ordered was very bland. Their prices are slightly higher but it was expected from the only dog-friendly cafe in the city. read more

Our baby Simba loves this place. There's great vibes, great food & friendly service. The owners are awesome people and make great food. Simba can play with other dogs, eat healthy snacks, and we can be warm indoors. We drove down from brampton just to visit here for Simba's birthday. Try their Nutella waffles & Nutella latte, it's heavenly! Definitely recommend this place to all furries and their parents. read more

it's a nice and cozy coffee house or brunch place to to if you are dog lovers. food preparation room is separated from the seating area, no pet is allowed to go in. you expect to see pet hair and dogs running around in the seating area. food prices are slightly higher but with fair quality. i found my waffle was a bit too sweet, you may want to request to have the syrup on the side. generally pet cafe is a great idea, too bad this is banned in Toronto. read more

Brilliant idea for a coffee shop! It's a great place to bring animals to hang out. My pet husky Rowya loved the place. Wish there were more people though. The female owner was rude and abusive. I believe she called me and my friend a word you should actually write on a Yelp post, but something along the lines of a 'see you next Tuesday'. All because I took an interest in her restaurant and asked her the legalities on how you can get around the city by laws on having dogs around food. If this is her attitude with new customers being curious and interested she won't be in business for long. read more

Ignore the negative reviews on here, they obviously had an issue with their visit and are leaving false reviews. I visited Munchies for the first time a few years ago as we brought our dog in from Toronto. We had a fantastic time, found the owners to be really super people and the food was great. 6 months later we went back and they remembered us. Now we live in Hamilton and go more often and have gotten to know the owners even better and they are very caring, dedicated people. They take pride in their work and are passionate dog rescuers. Not once have I seen them be unfriendly towards anyone, rude or otherwise unprofessional. They are a family business and they are entitled to run it how they see fit and to ensure they achieve success. We're greeted when we come in and if they are in the food prep area, we get waved at on the way out. This is a great place, great owners and great food. read more

If you love dogs this is the place to get your dog fix and enjoy a meal. If you have a great dog that gets along with everyone and everything this is a great place to hang with your dog. Loved it. The food area is separate and closed off by glass from the eating and dog area. Some outside seating as well. Free wifi. read more

I've just come here for my second time. Came here on a recommendation for their baklava and I was not disappointed! It was the best baklava I have ever had - enough to make me return just a couple weeks later for more! The vibe of the place is really neat - I didn't come in with a pet, nor do I have one to bring, but I find it really cool and laid back. Stopped in and made the mistake of asking some questions about their business which they seemed to perceive as a threat of some sort. It was just friendly conversation and curiosity as dogs are not allowed in other cafes. I don't know what this woman's problem in life is, but she is clearly very angry and miserable. Over-priced, run-of-the-mill food and beverages. I felt like I was being watched and glared at while I tried to sit and relax for a few minutes with my dog. It was clear the owner was talking about me to her coworker and glaring at me. It was like something out of the movie "Mean Girls". Good luck running a business with attitudes like that, ladies! I won't be back, my friends certainly won't be coming in and it will be interesting to see how long this place lasts. Try a little kindness, it goes a long way in business, so do manners! read more

This place had potential. The woman who runs the place has ruined any chance of it being an enjoyable experience. She was ignorant from the get go. Walked around spraying every surface near us down. Oblivious to the fact that there's open coffees. Didn't care. Then the food comes and it was so bland we needed to douce it in hot sauce for any flavour. My friend asked an innocent question about the operation and after a few snide remarks from her, this Godzilla of a woman kicked us out of the restaurant. Was literally yelling in my face. So my advice is unless you want to experience this side show freak for yourself. Stay away. Your pets deserve better and so do you. read more

Ignore the reviews of the owners being rude, they are simply not true. Rosie and Gary are two absolutely incredible people who are passionate about dogs and about putting out the best possible food. They are kind, friendly and caring. Never have I seen them treat anyone with anything less than friendliness and respect. They greet people as they come in and are always happy to chat about your dog or any of their rescues that might be wandering around. Maybe the people who had poor experiences here went in with a chip on their shoulder or was looking to cause an argument but even then I don't believe a word of their reviews. Munchies is not for you if you don't like dogs, but as a huge dog lover, I think this place is great. The coffee of awesome and the waffles are the best I've had, even better than the ones I make at home. I love being able to go out and bring my dog with me. It beings people together as well because who doesn't love talking about their dog? This is a wonderful little cafe and I guarantee you'll have a great time and meal there. read more

I go to Munchies weekly with my 4 dogs and we are always warmly welcomed by Rosie and Gary :) The food is phenomenal the atmosphere relaxing and the java to die for :) I highly recommend MUNCHIES to everyone read more
