I think the majority of their business is fulfilling custom cake orders. At the time of my visit, they had a few different types of canollis that were priced around $2.50-3. So quite average in pricing. It was good. Tiramisu - $2.50 for a smallish slice. Although fresh, they used whipped cream. So that was a bit of a disappointment. Sadly, not many bakeries use the real deal anymore. I prefer the tiramisu at Sweet Paradise. Just ok for me.

When I lived in Montreal, my go-to cupcake place (and probably my overall favourite cupcake shop) was D'Liche, which sadly didn't make it through the covid quarantine. In London, I enjoyed Chick Cake Boss and when I came to Hamilton, I went to Bitten. However, none quite lived up to D'Liche, or even the Cupcake Shoppe...until Beyond the Batter. One bite and I deemed it my new favourite cupcake place. I had been drooling over the flavour list for probably a week now and finally convinced my brother to go grab some. We ended up with an assortment of flavours that not only sound delicious but look lovely. Work fast though because my brother got to the shop about 2.5 hours after they opened and a few flavours were already sold out. He got home with the cupcakes while my sister was on a work call. We are impatient though so we decided to try a cupcake anyways and just grabbed the one we knew she'd have no interest in - Macaroon, a coconut cake cupcake topped with chocolate frosting rolled in toasted coconut. We split it and both fell in love at first bite. My brother is not a frosting fan so for him cupcakes are all about the cake and he has been raving about how light and fluffy, yet flavourful the cake was all afternoon. As for me, I love frosting and cake and the flavours were just so spot on and rich that I was happy. Often frosting/icing can be end up tasting like icing sugar above all else but that wasn't the case here at all. When my sister got off her call, we went in for a second - Men are from Mars, a chocolate cupcake topped with malt frosting dipped in a chocolate shell with a caramel centre. It sounds like a lot but once again they nailed each flavour and they all worked together so well. I normally avoid chocolate cakes but this one was delicious and I'd definitely recommend. In fact, I'd recommended everything I've tried thus far and I'm sure that opinion isn't about to change.

I got 3 bakery items: Tiramisu, Sicilian Cannoli, & a Peanut butter/Chocolate Cheesecake and all 3 of them were super fresh! Tiramisu was like homemade! Light and fluffy, not overly sweet. And I was able to taste the coffee liquor. Marscapone/cheese filling was LEGIT, not that cheap, canned whipping cream! Cannoli shell was still crispy. Again, filling was nice, light, and not too sweet. Pb/Choco Cheesecake was a bit richer, but still moist and not dried out from the fridge. Gf got a Cream Horn (flaky pastry shell) and she said it was nice and fresh as well. I usually avoid this pastry like the plague because it's usually stale AF. I spotted this Cobs Bread after I had walked out of Dollar Tree. The businesses are across from…read moreeach other. Cobs Bread is next to Great Clips. I hadn't been back to this plaza in over three years. This Cobs Bread looks. I walked over to check this bakery out. This plaza has a lot of parking spots. It's anchored by a huge Walmart. A man immediately welcomed me when I walked in. I needed some time to look at everything, but it reminded me of visiting Cobs in Ottawa, but without a crowd. I love the danish pastries with custard. They were so good when I had them in the Summer that I got some more. My order consisted of these items: - Wild blueberry and custard danish - Raspberry and custard danish - Cinnamon bun My two pastries were in a bag. I got my cinnamon bun in a cute box. I paid with a debit card. I tapped and was good. I thanked the man and left with my goodies. I devoured the raspberry and custard danish after dinner. It was perfection. I liked the natural raspberries with the smooth custard. It was the best pairing. The danish had a light dusting of sugar sprinkled around the edge. Yummy! I haven't had the other goodies. They'll likely be gone by tomorrow. Such a great find. I may head back and get a chocolate croissant. I also like the flatbreads that are perfect for lunch or dinner. (396)
