Love Munchinette! best value in the neighborhood in my opinion. I usually get the wraps or the power plate combos. Steak over rice is delicious and for a little extra you can get additional protein.

I've passed by here so many times and always smelled the aroma of grilled steak. But I always thought it was more for gym rats. Because they have tons of protein shakes, protein bars and other bodybuilding necessities. Today I stopped in and checked out the menu. I ordered the Rock Hard platter. It was freshly grilled Angus steak prepared while you wait. Thinly sliced and served over a bed of yellow rice with fresh salad on the side. The food was fresh and delicious and a good value. Will be back

Having lived in Sheepshead Bay for years, I thought it would be time that I visit this little shop on the corner of Sheepshead Bay Road and Shore Parkway. On my way to work everyday, I would smell the delicious aromas of food thru it's side vent and it's a wonder that I avoided coming in here for so long ... until this past weekend. Most of Muchinette's clientele is young and, from what I've noticed, most of them are gym rats coming straight from the 24 Hour Fitness. However, just because you don't go to the gym, it doesn't mean you can't have a Muchinette power plate. The shop is very small and only has a few bar stools along the window, which makes for very good people watching, if you're into that while eating. The menu is just as small, with just 10 power plates/sandwiches. Beverages consist of freshly squeezed juices and smoothies with whatever fruits you want in 16, 24 or 36 oz sizes. On our visit, my fiance and I went with The Power Plate and Extreme Salmon. The Power Plate consisted of grilled chicken, grilled peppers, onions and our choice of grilled potatoes or yellow rice, with which I went with the rice. The Extreme Salmon contained salmon, grilled vegetables and our choice of grilled potatoes or yellow rice, with which she went with the potatoes. To sum it up, both plates were good and filling, but not anything mindblowing. Your expectations should be set to exactly what you're ordering, rice, veggies, and meat. The grilled chicken and salmon were pretty tasty and the vegetables right on. The rice and potatoes were also good too. Even though I'm showering this meal with the word "good" written all over it, nothing really stood out about either power plates. It was a typical local meal that was OK. The only complaint we would have had was the pricing of the meal, but then again, where can you really find a meal these days for cheaper than $8-$9 an entree? Sadly, that's the going rate for even simple things like rice, veggies, and chicken/fish.

I order from this place all the time I've given them several chances in the past with little screwups such as serving tough and non tender meat , giving me the wrong order, even serving food w dam tinfoil on it and anyone who has ate or ordered from this place, will know that their stove has tinfoil on it and that's how they cook the food. Therefore this is not just over exaggerated... I called the restaurant to complain about 20 minutes after my food arrived, and first excuse that came from them was oh sorry sometimes the cut of meat is just fatty and tough..... first off why are you even selling meat that is of that quality second off if a customer calls and asked for a refund why would you only offer a remake of the order? I do not have any intention of giving you guys my business anymore I just want my money back.

The bacon cheeseburgers at Munchinette tasted very great! In my opinion, I would rate Munchinette as a 5 star restaurant due to its great service. I think that the Bacon Cheeseburgers at Munchinette are one of the best burgers in the entire NYC. The only problem is that Munchinette doesn't serve french fries. In the future, I think that Munchinette should serve waffle fries with an option of cheese sauce on the waffle fries and put it on a small tray even for delivery. I would like to give a huge shoutout to Munchinette for serving one of the best burgers in the entire NYC. read more

I don't usually post anything but for one, the food was mediocre and moreover, they are racist. There is a lot of cursing and use of the word "amigo" here. I think the racist part gets me the most. I placed an order and when it was ready to get my attention they yelled "HELLO!?" Next, even after that I gave a .50 cent tip and when I walked away he cursed me out in Spanish. I have been eating at this place for the past 4 years or so. Shakes I started getting here closer to the 10 year mark. The place is great... Their steak wrap is great, and so is the Rock solid. All of their shakes are awesome.. Everything is made really fast and tastes great. If your in the neighborhood and need a quick bite this is the place to go to. It is just healthy enough for the health freaks out there, but it also tastes awesome enough for everyone else! read more

I had the power plate which came with chicken, rice, peppers and onions. It was definitely worth its price but I think one thing I can say is that it was a bit oily. I also tried my favorite smoothie, simply just strawberries and bananas. It was perfectly made so I can't complain about that. Overall, it's a place to try if you want a big lunch for a cheap price. read more

Best chicken sandwich I've ever had. My boyfriend orders this chicken sandwich with bacon and eggs and a fresh fruit drink on the side. Best breakfast I've ever had. The reason why i only gave 4 stars is because the service sucks. Once ordered, the staff working there will talk under his breath like we gave him a complicated order. Delicious! How come they dont have a place like this in forest hills. I would die and go to heaven. Nice, clean, simple food thats cheap and made to order in minutes. Protein, carbs and veggies is all I would live on if this place open near me. I found this place on yelp after leaving Brighton beach with my kid brother. 6 minute drive and big sign on the corner of the block. Most, if not all of the dishes/combo plates are under $10. They sell high quality protein shakes made to order, protein dessert such as brownies and cookies, amongst other great goodies. I had the Salmon over potatoes and steamed veggies which was great, while my brother had the steak over salad and steam veggies, also bomb! The steak was moist and flavorful, and the salmon was seasoned well and very clean. My kid brother told me we have to come back to the beach just to go back there again. I agree 100%. I love the food and the prices. Keep it up Munchinette. Please contact me if your interested in opening in my neighborhood. thx read more

Slamming food and drinks. I can not rave enough about their food. The service is terrific and the staff is very friendly. Let me tell you that they got me through the hectic lunches of a first time mom. It was hard to keep up and to cook at the same time so occasionally I had to order in and with an added bonus of my son's dairy intolerance a lot of take out places were out of question. Guys at Munchinet had no problem making substitutions in my order. I am a big fan of their salmon platter and salmon burgers as well as their smoothies. read more

I've been eating lunch here for the past two years and I love it! It's disguised as a health food place (and it is to some degree), however the most awesome items on their menu is the bacon cheeseburger and muffins. The bacon cheeseburger never disappoints, it already comes with the right amount of toppings/sauces needed for that perfect burger taste... yum. It really is my favorite burger in the area. The muffins are delicious and taste as if they came right out of the oven. Now because this is a health food place, they don't serve fries. It's more like bacon cheeseburger and a salad. But that's ok! I'm not a health food nut and the competition across the street (Fuel) is probably healthier... but Fuel's food is dry and unappetizing (they don't offer traditional burgers, only bison burgers which taste disguising). read more

I love this hidden gem. Their salmon, steak, rice and salad is all delicious. I like to add the chipotle sauce to the fish. I also enjoy their protein shakes. High quality food at great prices. The only thing I really get here is the Rock Solid or the Power Plate, which are both excellent. I'm sure other stuff is awesome too, but these are my go to meals. There are very few places in the area that rival Munchinette in terms of lunch and dinner options at this price and level of quality. Full five stars from me. read more

Hands down the best and easiest place for a to-go lunch on Sheepshead Bay. I used to be a devotee to Fuel, however Munchinette is the clear winner when it comes to being affordable, delicious, and healthy. I work in the area and usually work the entire day so I need to be able to split my food into two meals, I am also gluten free and mostly pescatarian. The Salmon power plate is one of the highlight's of my day to be honest. Truly delicious salmon that is well seasoned, not salty, on a bed of salad and grilled veggies (broccoli, cauliflower). To anyone that is in need of a healthy and well portioned lunch do not hesitate to order away at this quaint little corner stop. The plate goes for $9 , which lasts me the whole day. The guys are also super nice and accommodating. read more

My regular order has always been the Roast Beef w/ Cheese, which was maybe $4 when I first tasted it over 25 years ago. It is now $9.45 or $.50 less for no cheese. Regardless, the roast beef (medium) is still tender and juicy, piled on top of a soft and pillowy, freshly made bread that's been dunked in a bath of delicious beef gravy. The ooey gooey cheese makes it complete for me. Everything else is solid. Nothing fantastic or worth driving out of your way for. Don't come here looking for the best version of everything on the menu. However, if in the neighborhood, this place is an inexpensive experience that brings you back in time, when the world was less complicated and a night out with family meant a delicious trip to a local restaurant like Roll-N-Roaster.
