    Large "wurst" breakfast
    Jeremy J.

Delicious, hearty breakfast with a cool atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive. We had the large "wurst" breakfast the egg and ham toast which were filling and tasty. The coffee was excellent and so was the pressed apple, carrot and ginger juice.

I have been walking past this Café-Restaurant for many times during the last year thinking to myself "well, another Kiez Kneipe, Kreuzber, you know". The only thing that really attracted my attention were the two wooden palettes used for the vertical gardening at the entrance. Finally those palettes were the reason why I grasped their menu one day, to discover to my surprise that the Kneipe is not as is simple as it is. Finally I visited it for lunch yesterday and got enough reasons to return today for another lunch. The location inside is more inviting than it seems to be from the outside. The kitchen is right there in the dining room right behind a huge glass wall. So you can watch the food being prepare without getting too much of a smell. The lunch menu changes everyday and includes soups, a sandwich, a pasta dish and one kind of a really big heavy main dish. All in one there are around seven to eight changing dishes to choose from, varying from around 4 to 9 Euros each. Everything looks really tasty and homemade. A soup I tried was really delicious, as well as the pasta my colleague has had. Accompanied by a glass of simple but good Riesling it made a perfect lunch. A sandwich on the neighbour table teased my appetite so I returned today to try it. Much to my disappointment today's sandwich was with meat. It looked tasty but was not an option for a vegetarian. The stuff was very friendly though and there was no problem to get a cheese sandwich, which was not on the menu. And it was one made with love: just enough bread to balance the taste of fresh cheese, a mix of cions and different greens and a small salad for gourmet rabbits. Well, for now it will be my favourite lunch location to treat myself in the days when the job stress just gets over the top

Seriously this has the be one of my favorite places I have tried here in Berlin. Recommended by a friend, and tried on a whim, this place fulfilled and exceeded any expectations I had of it beforehand. A friendly and warm environment welcomes you into the adorable and simply decorated restaurant where you have full view of the kitchen (one guy). There is a downstairs and an upstairs, both equally as comfortable. My friend and I immediately went all in and decided if we were trying a place, the homemade lemonade was a must have. Ginger mint lemonade! It was delicious. I had honey ginger lemonade at cocolo ramen a few nights ago and can say that this lemonade was way better. Smooth and refreshing. I got a fish stew and my friend the best risotto with salmon (fresh fish on Fridays). Both plates were delicious and well presented. The waitress was sweet and let us practice our German with her. After the main meal we had to get dessert as there was a refrigerator full of cakes tempting us the entire meal. I got a chocolate cake and my friend the cheesecake and we were both given large (double slices) pieces, so much that we took half home with us. Overall I couldn't get enough of this place and can't wait for another chance to go have dinner at Mundvoll.

Fancy yet keeps with tradition. Caters to Non-German speakers, menu in English as well. Three course meal only 35 Euro

We were close to this place by chance and decided to go since only kebabplaces were close. The staff were extremely nice and recommended great wine and recommended dishes, even though we suggested the more expensive one, they recommended a cheaper one because it fitted better with the rest of what we were having! The wine was really great and they started by bringing a plate of olive oil and balsamico with salt and pepper along with great bread. delicious! The starters were great and the main courses were magnificient and tastet great (altough the meat was slightly overcooked, it still tasted great). The homemade icecream and strawberry/mint salad was out of this world. The also have great snaps and make a great moscow mule. A true gem in the heart of kreuzberg! I trult recommend it!

The 3 scrambled eggs, toast and crispy bacon. Freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee.

We asked for the wifi password and she was like "oh no this is not a laptop friendly place" (which is ofc completely alright). At that moment my friend already got a bottled beer and seeing our dissapointment she said "i can turn a blind eye for a small while" and JUST because she said that i asked for a wine and very kindly asked her if we missed a sign about laptops. And she rolled her eyes and said "we don't do signs" in a very condescending voice. I completely mirrored her tone and said "Maybe you should have because how else would we know?". She adopted even a more eerie voice tone and said "Since it's a bar people don't work here" 1. Queen did you arrive that conclusion all by yourself? Ive been working at several bars since i moved here 2. The place has CAFE in its name. I'd have no issues at all if she simply said "sorry guys, laptops are not allowed" But she kept making 12 yo level smart-ass comebacks with making faces. Idk if it's a turn-on for people from small cities to be treated as shit. But im coming from a metropol even bigger than Berlin. AND LET ME TELL YOU I AM SO FED UP WITH SERVICE PEOPLE IN GENTRIFIED NEIGHBORHOODS WHO THINK THEY OWN THE CITY AND THEY GET TO TREAT YOU LIKE FECES AND YOU HAVE TO TAKE IT. And especially getting this behavior from a woman as another one breaks my heart. Feminism shouldn't be girls treating each other with male hostility, it should be vice-versa. I hope she gets therapy or another job without customer contact ASAP

Berlin has many great cafés, with just a handful serving truly great coffee, but Kaffekirsche really has the best-tasting brews I've had so far. The espresso is excellent, but what really got me are the roasts that they HAND-FILTER for you. The flavors are fantastic--especially the Brazil. On the food--decent belegte brötchen, amazingly delicious Rhabarber Tarte. Seriously. Try it while it's in season. The staff--some of the friendliest people in the Kiez. Very knowledgable too! The atmosphere--fresh, simple, relaxed. They don't provide WiFi, which I actually like. (If you really need to work, Mundvoll is next door. Same owners, same quality of great food.) It's a place where you can really enjoy the flavors of your coffee and the company around you.

I don't think the microfoam held up well in the paper cup. I didn't get a chance to do a pour over but they seemed to be popular. They sell coffee roasted in-house. Depending on which roast you purchased, you could get some really fresh coffee. Some bags were marked as being roasted just a few days earlier but some were two weeks old. I was drawn in the first time with their pastries display. They each looked so pretty. I ordered the strawberry tart. To be honest, I thought it was going to be strawberry cheesecake. I should have asked first! Instead, it was a strawberry gelatinous cream filling. The chocolate cake base was not rich enough to stand out next to the strawberry filling. I enjoyed the look of it much more than the taste of it. I've heard that the vegan chocolate cake is really the cafe's star dessert, so I'll have to try that the next time that I'm in the neighborhood. I've never struggled to find seating, since it's ~2 blocks north of Kotti on Adalbertstr. The service can be unfriendly, which doesn't really match the look and feel of the cafe. It really depends on who is working, whether they're busy doing something else, and what language you order in. The first time that I visited, I ordered in German and the employee (possibly owner) looked really annoyed. Afterwards, I only ordered in English. The prices are typical of an upscale cafe.
