Precious is amazing! I just secured a city job and made an appointment online to stop in at 9 on a Saturday morning. I got there like 15 minutes early and had to wait. Let me tell you on a weekend I was just getting in a pre-line that started prior to the bank even opening. I got annoyed and decided to wait in my car. 14 minutes later they began to open so I walked right up and they were explaining that the system was down and recommended ATM use. I walked in slowly and was looking around for where to stand when PRECIOUS walked up to me and smiled. That's it that's the whole review. I canNOT stress how important it is for ME to be able to walk into my local bank do my business and move on with my day and be treated with kindness and respect. I look younger than I am by at least 20 years and dress down in pajamas and she STILL did the best job. I was impressed and left happy with my bank account and her service. Phenomenal. She brought me over to the window to make a first time deposit and the teller whose name I cannot recall was also very pleasant. Parking, decent hours, quite, secure, amazing service. This bank sucks. Literally! They the worst ever! I wish I can give them a no star. Smh. I'm surprised they still exist. Wanted to love this bank because of the low interest rates they give and it's convenient for me to get to. They customer service is horrible one guy who works there had me run my credit only to tell me he made a mistake he was misinformed about the information he gave me. Every time you call them it takes 30 minutes to get someone it's very difficult to get to the department you need. They always have to transfer you to a different department. And that takes another 10 minutes. Just to tell you I'm sorry sir you have to come into a branch. This happened to me more then 10 times. Smh You need so many documents every time you wanna change something on your account or if you want get a credit line increase. Been with them for 3 years I asked for a credit line increase all they gave me was a $1000 I ne er was late on a payment. Always pay in full. My other credit card company gave me over $10000 in 3 years in increases. Please say no to mcu it's not worth the hassle read more

MCU never fails with the bullsh*t. Can these incompetent people they employ do anything right. I was alerted to fraud on my account via my debit card. Called cancelled the card 1 week ago and l'm still waiting for a card to be mailed to me so l went to this branch to get a new card. Went to the machine and choose the option best suited and got a ticket with a number. 20 minutes later my # came up, for the station that also serves as the reception desk in the front. Explain my situation to the Lady at the front desk she replied " Well a new card is going to be $5" l said " $5? Even if i had to cancel the card due to fraud? She said " Let me have a form of identification so l can pull up your account" After a brief pause she looks up and said in a loud accusatory tone "Have you been paying your bill because, my system shows your credit card ( l have a mcu credit) is in collections. Me: What??? Hold up!! I then opened the app on my phone and showed her that on 5/4/2019 a payment was made directly from my checking and my balance was $0. She said okay, and called someone on the phone. When she got off the phone she said it looks like there was an error in the computer. SO....you basically accuse me in your self righteous tone of not paying my bill loud enough for the entire bank to hear and then turn around and said it's a system error Highly highly annoyed l requested to speak with someone in the back for more details because that's one hell of a big mistake in your system. She said listen out for the same number l had use to see her to be called again. 20 minutes later i met with staff member Diego and explained the situation to him. He said replacement of the debit card was free because it was cancelled due to fraud. He informed me after checking the computer he did not see anything about my account being in collections. He was apologetic, but a little too late am sick of MCU and there F**k ups. I have had this particular credit card for over 12 year but I've had enough. I asked him to cancel the credit card but he said in order to cancel I would have to call the credit card company. Okay fine, 5 minutes later after exiting this shitty location I called and cancelled the card. I have been saying it for years but this is my first step towards ending my relationship with this establishment. Say it loud and proud, MCU sucks!!! I been with MCU for about less then 6 months and I'm very unhappy with this bank. Since I live near this location this bank is just the worse, from wait time, to tellers not to mention the amount of replacement cards I have gotten here. Every last card I have received would not last me 2 months..there was always an issue with the strip so I was unable to make purchases even if I'm at work getting lunch. There was even at a point in time I had to get a card mailed and that didn't make any difference. I will be switching to another credit union bank because MCU is just not the place to be. read more

I've been coming here for a couple years. MCU offers great rates compared to the other banks. I would say it's not as bad as the other reviews. The wait is usually a while yes. Everyone of the reps and the tellers ive encountoured have been professional and appropriate. I do think they should hire more people. read more

So someone hacked my friend's snapchat account an proposed to me a way to make money. Long story short I reluctantly gave in and gave the guy my card info. That's my fault i admit. When i realized i got scammed, i immediately went to this branch to make a fraud claim on my account. Everything going smoothly as they have me fill out some forms and they cancelled my current card so they can mail me a new card. One day, though, i went to one of the ATMs of this branch to make a withdrawal and the machine just took my card without giving it back. I tell them about this and they said that the investigations department basically froze my account. I ask if there's anything i can do and they said all i can do is wait until they unfreeze my account. I couldnt make any transactions whatsoever. About a week later i go back to the branch so i ask them about the status of my account. I tell the teller that my account is frozen and she said "I dont see any freeze on your account." I'm like "are you sure...last time i came here they said I can't make any transactions on my account." They look again and they say "o the investigations department put a note saying you can make withdrawals from your account and there's nothing we can do unless they give the 'okay'." I then call customer service to see if there's anything i can do and they basically say the same thing. I ask if i can speak to the investigations department and the lady im talking says "there's no way we can contact them directly." I ask if incan file a request to take the note off and she said yeah. So apparently she filed the request. I then ask how long it going to take for the investigations department to respond and she said 2 business days. I wait a good 4 days and my account still fcked up. In the end it's been 2 weeks of me constantly calling customer service and going to the branch just for them to tell me the same things: "u gotta wait till they give us the ok" "you can't make withdrawals from your account" blah blah blah... while giving no advice on how i can get my account back. I ended up switching banks. This bank derserves to be buried to hell. These people are too ignorant. P.s.: not only they wouldn't reimburse me for my loss but they cancelled my card permanently read more

Fine. so she tells me to wait back in the lobby and they will call me since she said she will put me at the top of list. great. So after waiting for at least 20 mins i get called. They ask for me ID and debit card, I tell the lady my new address and I figured everything was A ok once I left till I find out this Sunday morning 2 days later when i try to use my card it's been cancelled and my online banking credentials don't work anymore... like WTF!! OMG never ever ever. So, I opened a MCU account online 2 weeks ago. I was told that I needed to do some additional verification steps before I could be approved for membership. I tried several times to upload my ID to their ancient "system" to no avail. Anyway, the money to fund my MCU account has since been deducted from my BOA account and still nothing from MCU. Not an email, not a phone call, not a piece of paper in the mail. Okay, my account has been funded so that means everything is ok.... WRONG! I called several times and finally, after a grueling 37 minutes on hold (it doesn't matter when you call, there's a ridiculous wait time and you need to multiply whatever is relayed to you as your wait time (i.e. 10 minutes) by at least 3! So now I'm pissed because I have no accounts with them but they took my money???? Okay no problem. I'll visit the "branch". Wth just happened? There are people standing around and sitting around with their legs sprawled across several chairs. Did I just walk into the department of social services welfare line crossed with the DMV? Oh my goodness. Everyone has to get a number from the kiosk and wait til you're called! I can't. I just want to get my money back and RUN! Too many other credit unions to choose from. The teller that assisted me did not know what she was talking about therefore she informed me with wrong information and essentially wasted my time . I notice that people are referring to MCU as a bank. It's not a bank but a Credit Union. Therefore, it's run a little differently, and yes perhaps they do need more employees but I'll tell you this. I refinanced my car with MCU and saved $5,000 after leaving Wells Fargo. There rates are great and I have accomplish more working with MCU then I would have had I gone to a bank. This place is horrible! Do not even waste your money doing business with these people. Applied for a personal loan and my credit score was documented as being 100 below what it really is. I'm not a novice, I am quite aware of my FICO score and asked them to rectify it. They told me that it was non negotiable and I told them they just lost a customer. Went to another bank, they pulled my credit score accurately and I received my loan at a 5.99% APR. They are a sham organization preying on people who are not financially savvy. I've never had a problem with the service at MCU but I recently visited the Springfield Gardens Branch to receive a copy of documentation. I sat and waited for a long amount of time which was bad enough but understandable since this was the first business day after the holiday weekend. Meanwhile, there were 3 ladies in the rear of the Member Services section having a drawn out conversation. However, when my number came up on the screen, no one said it and the screen is positioned behind the first seating area facing the front desk. One of the ladies from the Member Services section called the number after mine, and when I asked about my number, she rudely pointed to the screen and said that I was called at station 9 which is the front desk. I told her that it may be on the screen, but no one said it. She responded in an argumentative way by telling me that they DID call me to go to section 9. She was loud and rude rather than just apologizing and telling me to go to the front desk, and the representatives at the front never apologized for the confusion. Prior to this incident, I changed my card at this location and then fraud occurred on my account, and then I come back to this. Hopefully MCU sees this and makes the necessary adjustments in order to provide better service. There are too many banks to become a part of, commercial and otherwise, than to put up with this. read more
