Want a refresher of what the internet was like back in 1998?…read more Give MLP's website a visit! Some huge problems with MLP, and their website in particular: - asks you to re-login constantly - online payment is through a third-party company that chargers a 2.45% fee. - you can only pay online with a credit card, no bank account option - you can't setup auto-pay (despite their website saying that you can) so you have to constantly visit this crappy website every month if you want to keep the lights on - they are a monopoly

Their customer service is shit. I tried calling on behalf of one of my work supervisors to get…read moreelectricity set up for him. English is not his first language and I said he just moved here from a foreign country, so I was hoping I could at least give basic information like his address. Instead the operator says, rather curtly, "You can't set up electricity in someone else's name, but you can do it on our website." Gee, thanks, that had never occurred to me. Maybe, just maybe, I thought she could actually do her job. After all, if everything could be done online, she wouldn't be there, right? So I put the operator on hold and got my supervisor. She asked him 100 different questions because apparently they need to do a full FBI background check just to get power set up. I really don't understand why utilities places need your Social Security number. Chugach is a pain in the ass too but at least their customer service isn't as awful. If you absolutely have to set up power with them then just do it online if possible.
