Recommended by a neighbor, I was a bit reluctant due to a disparaging review here on yelp. I found they had an A on BBB and Angie's list. They were great. A supervisor was on site the entire time. While the crew communicated to each other in Spanish they all spoke and understood English. They were careful and courteous, even cleaning up everything right down to the small twigs. My neighborhood has small lots so this meant going into neighboring yards to pick up the supervisor spoke to my neighbors and arranged to go into their yards to gather debris. I do recommend them. They were hired by the homeowner on my property line to do some tree trimming. The owner owns the property and rents it to some tenants that I do not know. I noticed that they had completely topped the tree in his front yard and I assumed that they were completely taking the tree out however, they left the trunk of the tree standing without a canopy. I went back to work before noticing them doing the same to a tree in the backyard. I stopped the workers and asked what they were doing and why? They pretended not hear me or understand my questions and continued working. I contacted the homeowner asking if he was aware that the contractor was completely topping his trees. He stated that they had been hired to clear the undergrowth however, they notified him that the tree was split down the middle and needed to be addressed. He does not live in the area and authorized them to do what was necessary to address the problem. It appears that he is being taken for a ride since the solution to a cracked limb is not to completely top the canopy of two different trees. To be clear I did not request these services however, the homeowner did not request the services that were delivered. Munoz Tree Service is taking advantage of his geographic separation from the property to perform additional unneeded work that is ultimately going to kill these trees. Furthermore, it is clear they do not have any skills or training is best practices for tree trimming as topping a trees canopy is not recommended as a technique for tree trimming. Trash service. They are so unprofessional. I took their offer to cut a branch off my tree. it's not difficult and they only sent two guys (dad and son). The branch fell and broke my window. they talked good and promised me that they will fix my window but bailed. never did. read more

We used Munoz Tree Service on our previous house at the referral of neighbor, and again today on our current house. Both times we've used them have been great prices and great experiences. We're pretty protective of our trees and they were so respectful in making sure we were comfortable with a few key cuts before we made them. Really appreciate how quick they are, use the right tools, and all at much better prices than we've been quoted from other companies. While I am reluctant to disparage anyone who works hard, I must warn everyone about using Munoz Tree Service. This company was recommended to me by a neighbor, but I have found over time that they do not always complete a job to one's satisfaction. Tony Munoz is a friendly person and easy to talk to. He will always offer you a price that is higher than what he is willing to do the work for. So you will get a better price from him if you decline his first bid. To his credit, he will sometimes exceed the original work by trimming or even removing things not in the original bid. However if something isn't finished as agreed, he is slow to follow-up on completing it. Last spring, his work crew severely damaged a large mountain laurel which is over 30 years old - by felling most of a nearby tree on top of the bush. This was reported to me by my neighbors. When I saw the damage, I was horrified. When I called Tony to see what could be done to repair or replace the bush, he promised to meet me. When he failed to do so, I called him again. He promised to call back and did not. I called him a third time, but no call back. So watch out neighbors! He talks good, but his work is unreliable. read more

We hired Munoz Tree Service after they did great work at my parent's place. Their bid was reasonable for the large amount of work we needed. The crew was great about being careful around our pool (we had a large tree removed and they took great care to not get anything in the pool). DO NOT USE!!! Tony knocked on my door because he saw all the ball moss in my trees. I agreed because it needed to be done but was hesitant because it's winter and you can't tell which limbs are dead and which are live. We agreed that only 3 limbs would be cut, he brought Daniel over and we discussed and then Daniel came early in the morning and we discussed again. We cut the 3 limbs while I was there and then I left because I had an appointment. By the time I returned, Daniel and crew had cut an unknown number of limbs without my permission. I assume it was because it was so much easier to cut limbs than to remove the ball moss. I am so, so angry. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! They will not follow very specific directions. read more

Overall I am very happy with the work they did. They worked quickly but thoroughly and left the yard very clean. I thought their price was fair. One caveat is make sure that you consult with them before they start and are clear about you want. A lot of people want a tree service to "raise the canopy" by clearing out lower and central foliage, leaving a tree shaped like an umbrella. If that is what you want, they will do it and do it well. However, if you are like me and want a more natural look, trimming out only dead growth and branches that are a danger to roofs or power lines, and preserving as much foliage as possible, make sure you tell them beforehand. They very diligently complied with my requests, cleaning out only what was necessary and leaving my trees in the back looking full and natural. Unless you know what the trees looked like before, you couldn't really tell that the trees had been pruned, just that they look neater and healthier, which is exactly what I wanted. read more

I was quite impressed with the service. After I watched them cut down a huge 35 year old tree, Arizona Ash, that was starting to split I realized how dangerous that job was. The main guy climbing the tree like a monkey knew exactly where to be after each cut. The massive branches came down with total grace since everything was tied off properly. This company was hired by the homeowners who share our back property line to trim trees on my property that were obscuring their view. Munoz Tree Service cut down trees on my property without ever getting my permission. When I discovered them working in my yard they told me that the other property owner told them is was OK. What on earth? I actually was very obliging understanding that the owners would want to restore their view and I asked them to let me know next time, and I asked Munoz Tree Service to remove all felled tree parts and other associated brush from my lot when the were done. They were very friendly and agreeable saying they would remove everything. That was yesterday. Today I spend 2 hours dragging brush and fresh cut tree limbs up hill and over my neighbor's fence. Munoz Tree Service cut trees on my private property without permission, lied to me when they agreed to remove their brush from my property, mangled a Live Oak and did not paint open wounds, and left a large limb cut and hanging on other tree limbs waiting to fall- a huge danger in a natural area where my dogs and children play. Very unprofessional and I am also making a report to the city for trespassing. read more

I love my big oak tree and was hesitant to have someone I didn't know trim tree but wanted to give Munoz Tree Service a chance and boy am I glad I did! They did exactly what they said they would do! One worker came behind the other and sprayed the cuts! They cleaned up very very nicely. The price was very reasonable and I would definitley use them again. We have used Munoz Tree Service a number of times over some years. They have always done a great job with excellent clean up and good pricing. They are certainly responsive to requests, but I basically leave it up to Tony and crew - Tony notes what is needed and results are very satisfactory. No complaints and I recommend them. read more
