Murano is a stylish Italian restaurant in likeable Mayfair. On this occasion we ordered from the lunch set lunch menu and were extremely pleased with the breadth of offering and cuisine produced. On arrival we were welcomed with a selection of fresh beads and crosstini, olive oil from Sicily and pickled vegetables and cured meat. An impressive array of antipasti. The olive oil, so good, I could imagine drinking the remainder of the bowl (although knew better given the eloquent surrounds). The mussel fettuccine was perfectly balanced in flavour and then pasta al dente enough, without retiring on the top hard side. Perfetto! For main, I ordered the pork cutlet with Parmesan crust. Tender, flavoursome, absolutely divine! A couple of glasses of wonderful Italian wine (Piediamonte origin) was the perfect accompaniment to an exquisite lunch.

This Italian restaurant is one of the best since I come to London. The outside of it is so simple but elegant, inside will let u feel bright. BTW, service os also great. We choose the lunch menu, it's £33 for 3 courses(28 for 2) Simplify my words so it'll be,extremely love the dishes!! The rabbit from the starters, the lamb in mains, and the peachs for dessert. So amazing! Next time I'd like to try Autumn menu!

After badgering my husband (who's been to Murano twice without me - HOW RUDE), we decided to go for a spontaneous three-course lunch on Saturday afternoon. Luckily, there was one table left to book, and we made it just in time for our 12 pm reservation. I love the understated elegance of the restaurant. It's discreet without being showy, and the tables are strategically placed so that you never feel like you're on top of other diners. I agree that the setting is formal, without being intimidatingly so. Staff were disarming and relaxed, and I appreciated the flexibility of the menu (i.e. being able to order any item from the ala carte menu in a starter/main size). My husband ordered off the set menu (3 courses for £33) and started with the sea bream ceviche, followed by the rump steak. But I forgot the best bit ... the charcuterie, breads, and amuse bouche which are immediately whisked to your table prior to even receiving the menus! Now *that* is the way to greet a customer in a restaurant. I had the crab salad to start, which was delicate and light, and the clam linguine with samphire for my main course - both very satisfying and just the right portions. We managed to fit in a dessert of roasted figs and sorbet too, which went down particularly well as it wasn't too sweet. Despite being relatively full, we were at no point rushed out of our seats. We left the restaurant feeling very indulgent and happy - bellies full.

Loved my lunch here. We had the lunch special - £33 for three courses, or £28 for two and £8 supplement for the cheese course. All the little extras really make this a delightful experience - fresh Italian breads with salami and olive oil to kick things off. Fruity mousse palate cleansers and refreshing jellies ended the meal. Every mouthful of each course was wonderful. Lamb starter was melty tender, while the linguine with taleggio was buttery fresh, and obviously hand-made. My dessert - chocolate hazelnut mousse with salted caramel ice-cream - was equally satisfying. My companions ordered the cheese course, and got to select about five different cheeses with crackers and breads. The atmosphere is formal but not so stuffy that you feel you have to whisper. Staff are discreetly attentive. A lovely lunchtime treat.

very good, warm environment, what a great room,...the service tries really hard. Food had great moments. Very good...if not "once in a lifetime" great.

I've always thought Angela Hartnett a bit of a miserable old sour puss when I've seen her on telly.

Everyone was attentive, welcoming, and made the whole meal feel easy and relaxed without being too formal. Food wise, everything was really good. I ordered the cacio e pepe and it was cooked perfectly. Simple dish, but when it's done right, it really hits. The drinks were also great and ended up being the perfect start before walking around the neighborhood afterward. Overall, just a really solid Italian spot in a beautiful part of London.

The hostesses were nice but spunky, taking no crap whatsoever. Our waitress was very nice. We had a stop and chat with her midway through the meal. There was a variety of wines at a variety of price points. The primitivo got the job done. The restaurant presented an excellent bread basket to start. It was delicious- a great contrast to the notoriously bland bread that we recently had in Florence. We shared an order or grilled asparagus to start, in a somewhat futile attempt to be healthy. It was pretty good, but there were a lot more interesting choices at the top of the menu. My wife had the tortellaci with ricotta and spinach. It was very good but was sitting in a pool of butter. I had tagliatelle Bolognese. It was good. Very nice space with very good food. Keep the outdoor seating in mind for a nice day.

The bartender was absolutely charming and amazing, and he made a truly outstanding Ramos Gin Fizz (a cocktail from New Orleans that few people know how to make, and even fewer want to make). Not sure how that cocktail came up, but he seriously deserves a round of applause for making not one, but two. He truly revived my soul! I split the gazpacho and short rib pasta with my husband. The short rib pasta was magically both light and hearty; it was exactly what we needed after 18 hours of travel. We frequently travel, and I am highly skeptical of Italian food when outside of Italy. Bocconcino was an authentic experience that rivals many of our meals in Rome. Maybe it was jet lag, but I did almost lock myself into the water closet and luckily after a few minutes manage to unlock the stall door without calling for assurance. I suggest visiting with a friend for gossip and security! As far as ambiance, there was great people watching with the Saturday evening patrons; it was an experience in learning about London 'going out' fashion, and watching the very attractive staff interact with customers was a prime education in upper class customer service/flirting. My parting comment is that the bartender stole my heart and I hope to have another of his delicious beverages on a future trip!
