When we moved five years ago to Wilsonville, one of the highlights of this town are its open spaces and how family-friendly it is. This is just one of many parks in town. It's expansive too! It is located right across the street from the library and they offer so much-- water play (Murase Plaza), structured play, event spaces, nature play, tennis courts, soccer and baseball field, skate park, nature trails, disc golf, and fishing/boat dock. It is also stunning during the fall season with the trees in orange, red, and yellow. Parks and Rec are always maintaining this place. The latest addition to the park is the natural playground, and that is where we took our toddler recently. She LOVED it. She made some friends pretending to fish in the canoe and hang out in the teepees. The sand pit is a big hit too. Whether you're a family visiting or a local, I highly recommend checking this place out.

The main trail, before breaking off into other small ones, is paved. We parked in the residential area to begin the walk. We then broke off to go into the woods. It was a very short loop, but it was SO beautiful, especially during the fall season. It's a popular spot to exercise and take your kids to.

The is also a path of crushed granite that winds through a short forest area that is nice. My wife doesn't like the sound of the crunching rocks on the path. They are fine with me. We have seen some great wildflowers and many deer that hang out here. It's not that large of a park, but a nice walk. If it is really hot out, the paved path has no shade so don't do it mid day if you don't like the heat.

Theoretically, there is also a free boat dock, but at the time of writing, a very large tree is fallen across it. Restrooms and garbage are maintained by Oregon State Parks. When I visited, it was pretty clean. The trail along the river is very pretty, although I was only able to access about a mile of it before it got too flooded to hike through. I noticed lots of poisonous plants including poison oak, snowberries, and hemlock. But also tons of moss, lichens, and ferns. In addition to the picnic tables in the picnic areas, there were also several solitary tables set out along the river. This is great for a more solitary picnic, taking a break during a long bike ride, or getting some privacy for drawing or Journaling. Overall just about as good as it gets for free.

They don't have any trail maps posted, however, so we weren't sure of the distance of the trails or where they went. One trail follows close to the river, and that was nice, with a mix of open sun and shaded forest. The trails were mostly flat dirt or gravel, no strenuous inclines. There's a large off-leash dog exercise area. Dogs are supposed to be on a leash in the rest of the park, but sadly most owners were just letting their dogs run the trails off-leash. They have picnic tables & a good, clean restroom facility as well.

Rustic river acess for kayaking, fishing and summer time swimming…read more This park had been here for many a year providing access to the Molalla river. I have seen families basking in the sun or cooling off in the water durring the hot months and I have seen fishermen wadding in trying to catch the prized salmon durring the cold early spring. For Kayakers, there is an old ramp going down the the water. It is not a smooth transition to the water as the bottom of the ramp is missing and also the top is blocked so you will have to carry your craft down to the water. Once in the water it is a cool and beautiful journey down to the Willamette. The pull out on my last trip was the Molalla state park. Summer time is good for that as you may have to portage some areas when the water is low. I haven't floated this part in the spring yet. Maybe this year.

What a beautiful city park with views of the surrounding area. I've always been impressed by the…read morecity parks in neighboring Tualatin and Wilsonville, but Sherwood has got it going on too. Located at the top of Sunset Boulevard, this park has a very well maintained baseball field, lacrosse/soccer field with artificial turf and electronic scoreboard, tennis and basketball courts and multiple play structures. The water feature is set up like a stream, rather than a spray ground, and really the entire park was very well designed to provide a little bit of everything for the community. As a venue for watching a game, I loved the gentle slope that provided plenty of seating for parents to either set up chairs or blankets on different levels. Even though it all looks very modern, the park has a nice amount of mature trees to provide shade and a large covered structure for parties and gatherings that is essential for events 10 months out of the year. They even had a concession stand running during our visit so you could buy food and have a picnic. I kind of hope we have more games out in Sherwood.

Nice residential park | Water play, great for all ages…read more Honestly, this whole Villabois neighborhood is excellent for families. There are way too many little parks to name and recommend, but this is one of the popular areas to hit up because a lot of events are held in this area. From Farmer's Market (Thursdays) in the summertime to Halloween parade and trick-or-treating in October, this is a gathering point with space to have picnics, BBQs, and birthdays. The pool is within walking distance as well. The little play area has an excellent structure suitable for toddlers to elementary kids. I'm not a fan of mulch/wood chip for ground cover at the park, but it seems to be okay, not giving my little one any splinters. The highlight for my toddler is the little water play area. There is a pole in the shrub area that says, "press here...", which activates the three water fountains. It has a pretty strong pressure; it is sure to bring delight to the little ones. I recommend wearing water shoes here. Lots of benches and picnic spots with plenty of lawn space under some tall trees. It looks like there used to be a creek but it's dried up, and now it provides some nature play like at Memorial. Safe and lots of street parking.

I had to use the restroom while I was there. First, at a park that has a play-set for 2-year-olds (never mind kids who have siblings), there's no baby changing table. And second, there's no soap dispenser. Not just no soap, no way to supply it. There's an air dryer (no towels)...in other words, nothing to keep stocked. But no soap in the restroom? Ew. Otherwise it was fine, seemed well-maintained, etc. But uninspired. If you live close by it's likely worth it, but I wouldn't bother to drive there. The views of the river aren't as good as at lower Memorial Park, and the playground isn't as good as the upper part of Memorial Park.

We stopped…read morein as a pit stop driving down to Salem one day, and this park was a nice little reprieve from the sometimes-stressful traffic of I-5. There isn't much; there's a playground, a historic marker plaque, restrooms (that were oddly clean), plenty of parking and a former boat-launch that is now a very small beach. The park was very clean, quiet and kept up impeccably. Perhaps a good spot to have a picnic or dip your feet in the water, or use the restroom.

It's a cool spot to hang out and enjoy the day with open space and not too far from food places if you get hungry. Goodwill is right across the street and there's also a Korean War Memorial at this park. Hopefully the water works again on these hot days ahead.
