Shady spots to post up all along the water feature!
    Hannah A.

LOVELY PARK! I don't have any close up photos that exclude the kids faces that I use to nanny's....but I just love this park! It's very clean and just a walk from the playground is the water feature+splash pad which is perfect for the summer. There is enough shade, picnic tables, bathrooms, covered areas, grassy areas...it has everything. The playground part has a huge structure that looks like a barn, complete with a little "pen" that has a springy horse that seats one, in the middle (it's like a mechanic bull situation but for 10 and under ). There's a different section that is friendlier for younger kids, and a huge slide (it was closed for repairs the times we went but didn't take away with how fun it was there!) Even the water feature seems clean which can be hard to do since it's more natural cement style. I will say the ONLY downside is that it can be a little more slippery because of the materials...just make sure your kiddos actually listen when you say "no running" or they might bang up their knees! Never have an issue with parking or finding an area to set up a blanket.

Very fun park with lots of activity's for kids and also trails to walk. Took my niece and nephew here, they had such a blast, the play structure were very cool. There was quit a bit of people at the play ground and also walking around. They had parking right next to the play ground. They also had a dog park near by for all those 4 legged parents fun experience and highly recommend if your looking for a place to enjoy the outdoors or have a little picnic.

Beautiful park, it has a bit of everything: trails, playground and athletic fields/splash pad. Great summer spot!

Beautiful park grounds with playground and walking trails. Very well kept & plenty of parking. We will definitely frequent this gorgeous little slice of nature.

Water features - Murase Plaza - upper park

I love this park. I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this park. I want to give it six stars instead of five. It is huge, and it has so many different areas to it. What I call the upper park, which is Murase Plaza and the adjacent spaces, has its own parking lot (entrance opposite the library parking lot). Murase Plaza itself has an enormous, wonderful water feature with different parts - a dancing fountain; a 'white water' river/channel that all but the newest walkers can handle - my son at maybe 20 months did okay in it and at 2 he adores it; cascades and waterfalls down rock faces. I know some people worry that it's so close to traffic - but several parts of it aren't, and you can move to those areas if you feel safer. I've never seen a kid head for traffic, they are all too busy focussed on the water, and it leads them downstream and away from the traffic. (And if you're wondering at how there's no one in the photos I got of the water feature there - I deliberately went on one of the cold, windy, slightly gray days we got this spring, when I was pretty sure it would be devoid of kids. It's usually PACKED with them on a hot sunny day, and I wanted to show the actual water feature.) There's also a picnic shelter near the fountains, and an expanse of rolling grassy hills. Over by the parking lot, well away from the fountain, is a gorgeous playground with a really tall slide built into the side of a man-made hill. The kids love it, I love that they don't have to climb a ladder to get to it, letting my 2-year-old take part with way more independence than a ladder would allow. There are also swings, including a fun new play-style swing for the younger set. A merry-go-round alternative that is a spinning, slightly off-level (deliberately) padded bench that is a lot of fun. "Rock climbing" structures, a balance beam, and a very cool webbed climbing structure for the older kids. And of course a teeter-totter. As much as I love that area, the lower park or main park (entrance further along the same road) is also gorgeous. It includes ball fields, tennis courts, a small playground with more traditional equipment (two sets, one for older kids and one for younger), but still more imaginative than the "standard" sets. There's also a tire swing and a collection of music instruments (xylophone, bell, drum-like structure, chimes) built in. Further down in that same park are several picnic areas including covered shelters that groups can rent; walking trails that lead through the woods and some down to the river; and access to the river including a dock. They are far enough from the playground area that there is no worry of a small child wandering off to them while your back is turned, at least not successfully, but you can drive back to a further-in lot and access them easily without having to walk much at all. The distance also means that the sounds of ball games and the playground aren't at all present in the picnic shelters or river area - if there are shrieking kids, it'll be because they're in the picnic shelters or river area - usually giving a nice buffer for people who would prefer to enjoy a quieter park. And for those who like to hike, there are fairly extensive trails connecting the two parts of the park also. You can spot-access the area you're interested in by car with a bit of walking, or you can make a day of walking and enjoy yourself that way. This park has SO MANY options, and they are SO wonderful.

Best park in Wilsonville. Has gazebos for dining, and large fireplaces, BBQ, and great trails through the woods.

After touring the gyms I came away with the impression that Stafford was by far the best gym in the area. The staff is superb and the gym and equipment are clean. None of that terrible "gym" smell that you often get at the gyms as they age. I have been a member for about 6 months and really have enjoyed my time. Pros: -Women's locker room doesn't feel super dated. That was honestly a big reason I went with this gym, it was one of the few with a sauna/steam room that weren't disgusting. -Equipment/facility is generally in good condition and clearly proper upkeep is done. -Staff is kind and instructors seem to really care. Special shout out to Genevieve and Janet! -Yoga/pilates room is new and beautiful -This is a bit of a silly one but I love the room that used to be for bikes is now available for those who want a quieter space to work out if the other room has a class going on. Cons: -The class options for before/after normal work hours are incredibly limited. I am more of a class person and have been consistently disappointed with how few options there are. Generally, I think the gym caters to retirees/those who don't work a traditional 9-5 schedule. -Gym area is rather small. This definitely is more of a tennis club and the footprint of the area with fitness equipment is small in comparison to other gyms in the area. I have never had too much trouble waiting for equipment but when it's busy, it can feel cramped.

So for myself, and for health benefits, this past spring and summer I decided to start taking tennis lessons. This was to add a change to my cardio regime. Plus, I haven't played tennis in over ten years. Here's a few information: * General Facilities & Parking Lot * First of all, the campus is fairly huge. And they appear to offer everything from swimming, to tennis obviously, league sports like softball for adults, and soccer/football/lacrosse for kids. They even provide maps for certain walking trails. The parking lot accommodates mainly for the aquatics center and tennis courts. But I've yet to run into an issue with parking close to the tennis facility and softball fields. Plenty of spaces, but I'd say more crowded closer to the aquatic side. Lots of kids taking swim classes. * Babette Horenstein Tennis Center * Did I mention this facility is huge? Yeah, there's a good amount of courts. I believe about twelve in total, maybe more. The cool part is, six are indooor and six are outdoor. The indoor courts are well ventilated for the most part, but can get real hot during the summertime. As for the outdoor courts, they seasonally set up a green tent during the fall and winter, but remove it around springtime and summer. You can reserve a court, but they've got various rates. Primarily depending on your purpose (yes pickleball players are allowed), your place of residency, and a time of day. I will admit, it can be hard to reserve a court due to its popularity. * Tennis Instructors * Thus far I've had the two Brian's, a Bill, and a few others. So far so good as all of them have been excellent teachers of the game. Very knowledgeable instructors. From area positioning, to racquet grip holding, to hitting routine and feeling, it's those little tweaks and adjustments here and there that really help. They make the classes worth it! Well, that just about sums it up! Just note that local residents receive more of the benefits versus folks like myself that live "out of district." Like priority sign-ups if you're looking for a class. Regardless, I still find myself taking advantage of what they have to offer.
