I've gotten many piercings before and always get pierced with titanium as it is high quality and low risk of infection or rejection. This place does not have any titanium available and instead offers "surgical steel." I asked if there is any nickel in their surgical steel because I am allergic and reject jewelry with nickel in it. They said there is no nickel so I went ahead and got an ear piercing from them and after almost a year I had to take it out because it wouldn't heal and was very infected, even after cleaning it twice everyday. I recommend going somewhere else to get higher quality jewelry and honesty/education when it comes to piercing. I do not recommend Murder Ink unless you want cheap metal in your body. read more

I like the piercer's attitude, she's really nice every time I'm in, but none of the piercings i've gotten here have gone well. My cartilage stud became infected the very next day I got pierced, and when I got my rook done, she actually got the needle stuck and couldn't get it out in a fast manner so it was more painful than it needed to be. Only got one tattoo here (fine line work: just the outline of a sun) and it was not great. None of the lines are the same thickness and it is still raised after 2 years. read more

This place sucks... hardcore. I got a tattoo in July 06 at a GREAT tattoo place in Moraine... I wanted to get another very meaningful tattoo in BG. I decided to go to On the Edge. At first glance, these are your typical tattoo artists, however, their work is a joke. My tattoo said "SIX WORDS." The first guy that did it looked okay at first... but the curve part of the "D" was much fatter than the rest of the tattoo. Secondly, after the tattoo headed, the "D" and the "S" were vague to the point you couldn't even see them... it sucked. I went in to get it retouched in which it was better, but they did it free hand in which when they retouched it, it was in a different location than the original "DS." Now, you can see a tiny spec of the D and S... is it noticeable? No, however, when it's on your body for life, it should be perfect. And when it's something as simple as "SIX WORDS" in plain, non fancy text, come on.... So basically, don't go here.... spend a little more and go to a place that's a little more one on one and professionally driven than here. read more

First time tattoo and while I had an idea of what I wanted, Jared came up with the perfect sketch. He was personable and professional and created the memorial tattoo that captured the symbolism I was seeking. I would highly recommend Jared and the entire business. They were the only place that could give me a reasonable appointment date and took the time to actually speak to me about what I wanted when several other establishments never even bothered to call me back even though I personally went to each place. Everything is reasonably priced and the staff is wonderful and will do everything possible to make you feel comfortable, especially if you hate needles like myself! Artists were very rude. I came in with a friend who had never had a tattoo and she was ridiculed for being surprised at the pain. Instead of given encouragement, she was told she should have researched more before coming in. I accidentally said a few bad words and was yelled at for being distracting. I have three other tattoos from my home town over an hour away and I would rather waste a whole tank of gas then go back to this establishment. read more

I got my first tattoo done at this studio when it was under a different name, so naturally when I was ready for number 2 I thought of this place. I went to the studio with an image of what I wanted and an idea of some additions. Jon took my idea and did exactly what I wanted! He added water color to my treble cleft tattoo and it is perfect! Jon had so much fun with the water color and it was enjoyable to watch him jam out to music while he created my special piece of art! Actually ON THE EDGE is a good place. Ive gotten my piercings done there and my tattoos. They have never done me wrong. And it just depends who u get to do your tattoo. Some people are good but some arent but make and see if any of ur friends went there and if they did try getting the same person. But i like there place. I really do.
