Listen, this is probably too small for you, but would you have anything for around $1,000.00?" "Certainly, let's go up to the 2nd floor. I believe I can show you something you'll like from our storage area." Not a hint of sarcasm, disappointment or annoyance was perceived in her tone or demeanor. So, I follow her up the stairs, passing colorful paintings that I imagine on my dining room walls. We walk to the back and I inwardly ask myself..."Is that a Rodin drawing I just passed?" I look around more. "What?!? Is that a Picasso? A real Picasso?" "Here, it is." She had to do some digging... and she's presenting me with a pretty landscape from a contemporary artist that is slightly bigger than the Kraft mac 'n cheese box, now sitting on my kitchen counter. "This is $917.00," she says, professionally. "Isn't that lovely," I state. Inwardly 'm crestfallen and am frantically trying to determine the cost of some canvas and paint. Don't let my review stop you from shopping here. This is seriously a nice gallery (3 floors worth of art). But, apparently, I've got champagne taste and a 6-pack budget. BTW, the Picasso was $900k+ and the Rodin was over $1 million.

On a recent hot day, I was a little early and decided to take a look inside for once, and what a great choice that was. I was immediately greeted by an incredibly friendly and professional (and not to mention flat-out gorgeous) receptionist who asked what I was looking for. Even though I stated my lack of intent (or means) to purchase any art, she offered to give me a gallery tour anyway. It was fascinating! The Gallery has such a great variety of works and yet they find a way to make it feel like all part of one exhibit. With color swirling off in one direction and energetic lines in another (they have some great contemporary stuff) I was just thrilled with the whole experience. Wally Findlay is a mid-town oasis for anyone who loves to look at and purchase beautiful art. Its clear why it's been around for so long. If you like impressionist art but are tired of the same Haystacks and Poplars, this is a great place to look at. And no doubt if you are a serious buyer, you're probably well aware of the great reputation this gallery has.

I thought her stock was wonderful and prices were reasonable. I received my cloisonné and also two wood display stands in a timely fashion, just as purchased, and packaged extremely well, which was a relief due to their delicate construction, especially being shipped across the country. I would certainly purchase more items when the opportunity arises and would love to visit the gallery,as well as the Manhattan Art and Antiques Center where it is located on each trip to New York. After looking around for almost 20 minutes (I really should have left after this rude treatment, but I didn't) I asked the director for some pricing. Once that occurred, she went into action (she might as well have had a key in her back); patronizing me to the point of making me feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. What's really sad is I had GENUINE interest in acquiring a piece to share with my husband!! After this treatment my mind was completely changed. They have the 19th St and 20th St galleries in Chelsea, as well as a gallery on Walker Street and another on E 69th. We stopped by the gallery on W 20th to see "Gerhard Richter: Landschaften," which was incredible. Considering he's one of the foremost contemporary German painters, I've rarely seen his works in museum collections and exhibits, and I was thrilled to have a chance to see so many of his paintings in one gallery. (The exhibit closes on July 10 if you want to see it.) This David Zwirner gallery is a little larger than some of the others, but it's just as minimalist, clean, and beautiful as all David Zwirner galleries. Because David Zwirner has several galleries in these two blocks, his galleries are a great start for a gallery crawl of Chelsea. After our visit, I signed up for David Zwirner's email newsletter so I can keep up with future exhibits. The gallery's shows are museum-quality, and I look forward to visiting again in the future!

He knows the face shape and hair type very well and never disappoints you. I've recommend this place to at least 7 friends and they all love it. The most important thing to me is when you get out of the shower. With Yaniv's haircut you don't do much, your hair just looks good itself!
