As a matter of fact, many of the ones left buy their product from walmart because its cheaper (just kidding). I'm all about cheaper vegetables for families who are on a tight budget, but the trip out here is good for the soul. Walk around, get some exercise and fresh air. Check out the plants, produce, baked goods, and ice cream. This is a wonderful place to take kids. Its educational, its fun, its delicious. You may live in the city and have absolutely no time for a garden, but you and your kids deserve that chance to see what a local market looks like. I'm not sure where they source everything, but they definitely grow much of the flowers and plants inside the green houses. You may pay a little extra, but its worth the trip. When you are finished, get some ice cream and sit out on the rocking chairs. You may catch a cool breeze.

I didn't count, but they probably have 5 or 6 huge greenhouses filled with large, healthy and vibrant plants. Indoor, outdoor, landscaping plants or herbs and vegetables. Whatever you're looking for, they'll probably have the best looking ones you'll find anywhere! I've been shopping for some hanging plants to adorn my front porch and have checked out the ones at Lowes, Home Depot and Marvins. Those places have nothing on Williams!!! These plants put the competitors to shame. Heads up though, this is NOT IN TRUSSVILLE. In fact, it's well on the other side of Argo! Driving Gadsden Hwy (11) all the way there takes a long time. You would be wise to take I-59 to exit 148.

I love that they give back to their neighbors in need as well. This Thanksgiving, I saw a post on their social media page where they were giving out free vegetables for the holiday. During the warmer months, delicious roasted corn on the cob is available from the owner himself. You can get it with any topping he has available. There are also several food trucks that sell comfort foods such as fried fish, pork chops,,okra and ice cream on-site that are owned by the same family. This market has been in the neighborhood for years and is a family-owned and operated market that serves the community with healthy fruits and vegetables. The produce appears to be sold by local farmers and looks fresh from the field, but the night I visited there wasn't much of a selection. Mostly tomatoes, a variety of peppers, and okra. There were some baked goods as well. Other booths were selling hand crafted items like carved wood, clothes, and toys. I'd like to see more farmers and produce at the market, but I think this is a great little community building event on warm summer evenings. I plan on coming back. Maybe if I come earlier there will be a larger variety of produce.

I couldn't resist buying a hibiscus that was flowering and looked so pretty. It needed to be transplanted to a bigger pot but I don't see one there that looked big enough so I bought one at Home Depot instead. It is also doing really well. If you're looking for a huge selection this isn't it but if you're looking for friendly staff and your basic indoor and outdoor plants this is it!! Every staff member working greeted me and asked if I needed anything. I have yet to find a 5/5 on customer help.
