One of the funkiest live music venues/dive bars I've ever been to, The Vat is funky, eclectic and altogether charming and welcoming. No wonder it's a hit with diverse people ranging from college students to old regulars. I wish I could pick it up and take it with me, up north to Edmonton. The server was friendly, the beer (house draught) was ultra-cheap and cold, and even though there were only a couple of rub-a-dubs around on a Sunday afternoon at 2, it was a blast. Definitely drop by if you've never been. A great way to break up the long drive from Edmonton to Calgary, or vice versa.

There are 4 inhabitants of the little town but every last Saturday of the month, the place comes alive. And I mean it really comes alive. Every last Saturday a team of local volunteers put on a pizza night at the saloon. Starts at 5 pm and runs till late. The saloon is a licensed establishment but children are welcome.
