Quality ingredients, decadently creamy texture and beautiful flavors make this ice cream shop a favorite for locals and tourists. The friendly service is the cherry on top! A must stop in Galway or Cork etc... and they will happily let you try as many flavors as you want to help you decide!

Dropping a few stars as the hours are not accurate. We saw on Google that they close at 7pm, thereby got gelato. We then stumbled upon Murphy's around 8:45pm and saw they were open. Before ordering your ice cream, a staff member approaches you to taste test flavors. We were deliberately skipped over. The ice cream flavors themselves are unique. We liked the Dingle Salt, that was a great homage to Dingle. The Irish Brown Bread we liked as well as it gave the ice cream a layered texture. The lemon flavor was really good as well. That being said, these flavors are very subtle, they are not apparent in every bite.

Just the homiest and coziest little ice cream place. And so good that I came back again. The people who work here are the nicest-- they offer samples while you're on line so that by the time you get to the front you know what to order. And they basically give as many samples as you want, even offering you samples that you didn't even ask for just because they think it's a flavor you might enjoy. I had the chocolate and cookie flavors on the first day-- both amazing. The chocolate is so smooth and creamy, and the cookie tastes like a carvel ice cream cake. On the second day I got sea salt and lemon. The lemon was an ice cream base instead of a sorbet-- SO delicious. And the sea salt is deceptively tasty. It goes with everything, and really hits if you like sweet and salty pairings. Would absolutely recommend a visit to anyone in Ireland!

Love this place! Has a lot of unique flavors. I personally went for the dingle sea salt & Irish brown bread. The dingle sea salt is like a salty vanilla, which I absolutely loved. & the Irish brown bread was like cereal & milk. Plus the employee was super kind and helpful, giving us recommendations and allowing us to try things. Highly recommend!

I made it to Murphy's! Although I had planned to visit its Dublin location, where I spent most of my time, I was able to find a location when I was in Galway and it did not disappoint. It's some of the best ice cream I've had! Yes, Phil Rosenthal told me and everyone on Netflix about Murphy's and aren't we glad he did? The ice cream is creamy and delicious with local flavors that is worth discovering. There was no way I was going to miss getting Murphy's while in Ireland. At this Galway location, it's located right in the city center and the space isn't small, but they have some seating on the side. The friendly staff are there to help and provide samples of the various flavors, which all seemed intriguing, especially if you're not from Ireland! I ended up getting two scoops of the Irish Brown Bread and the Chocolate Whiskey, which were fantastic, especially together! The Irish brown bread was like bread pudding, as it had a caramel flavor to it with pieces of bread crumbs throughout. The chocolate whiskey was super chocolatey and had hints of booze, so what more could you ask for? If you're in Ireland - find a Murphy's and treat yo' self!

This place came highly recommended to me, and even though it was miserably pouring out, I stopped in. Even with the rain, there was a line and the employees happily gave everyone endless amounts of samples while they waited. I don't remember what flavors I got but one of them was butterscotch. They didn't have a cover for my ice cream to protect it on my walk, so they gave me another cup to place on top of my scoop. When I finally found shelter to dig in, I was surprised at how good the butterscotch is. Simple yet standout flavors and worth the stop into the shop if you're in town.

Enjoyed visiting Murphy's ice cream when traveling in Galway. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming telling us all about the history and background of the ice cream. We were able to sample a few flavors. The latte flavor was a bit too light on the coffee taste for my preference but the honeycomb has a balance of textures within the smooth and creamy ice cream. They were also very familiar and accommodating to food allergies.

Maybe the hype was too strong for me, but I was very underwhelmed with everything we tried. We sampled 4 flavors including Dingle Gin, Sea Salt, Kieran's Cookies and Honeycomb Crunch, then ordered Lemon Curd, Strawberry and Irish Brown Bread. All of the flavors are pretty mellow, but the quality of the ice cream is the star of the show. But a little more sour in the Lemon Curd, or more strawberry in the Strawberry, more cookies... well... you get my point. The Sea Salt was a lightly salted and I certainly wouldn't want any more, so it was just right. The Brown Bread was a nutty, whole grain experience which was unique and probably my favorite. The scoops are quite tiny, size of a golf ball, and with two scoops for both of us it was €15 which just wasn't worth it. As the locals would say, I can "tick that box" on my bucket list and move on to better things.

Must try: Irish Brown Bread! Why: Loved the Irish Brown Bread because it reminded me of my childhood when mom toasted bread, spread butter, and sprinkled sugar on top! I got one scoop of Irish Brown Bread and one scoop of Strawberry (which was the workers fav) and it was like bread with jam! They went so well together! Notes: Convenient location in Galway. Appreciate that are able to try some before ordering. Worker was fun, friendly and helpful. She put a smile on my face. Seemed like a larger location than Dublin. A bench in front to sit and enjoy. I ate mine heading back to our tour bus and finished it before getting on the bus because it was so delicious!

Some of the best ice cream you'll have anyplace. This is every bit as good as their location in Dublin. The small cup is 2 scoops of their unique offerings! I paired Irish Brown Bread flavored ice cream with a honey chocolate. The folks working inside are super extroverted and will talk with you!! Be ready!! It's just a great experience!

After our lunch in Galway, we decided to get some ice cream and stumbled upon Murphy's. While waiting in line, an employee come to offer you samples right away. They have a variety of handmade flavors with some unique ones to Ireland. The chocolate whiskey is nice, but I'm not much of a chocolate fan. Instead, I opted for Irish Brown Bread and Honeycomb Caramel. There's three sizes and I got the medium one for €7.00 in a cone. I love that there's no extra charge for a cone too. Come for the unique ice cream flavors and friendly service. It's great even on a cold and rainy day.

Murphy's was such a fun stop in Galway for a sweet treat. We loved the staff there! When we told him some of our group was from Tennessee he asked about Elvis lol. He was very nice! We tried the Raspberry Sorbet, the Dingle Sea Salt, the Honeycomb Carmel, the Strawbery and the Chocolate Whiskey. The Chocolate Wiskey with the Irish Sea Salt was so good!
