Approximately two and a half hours later, my check engine light came on. I returned to the shop the same day, and they scanned the code, which came back as P0430 (catalyst system efficiency below threshold). What is concerning is not just the timing, but the response I received. I was told it was "just a coincidence," and no further effort was made to inspect the vehicle. Given that this issue appeared immediately after service, I expected at minimum a basic check of components that may have been accessed or affected during the inspection, such as oxygen sensor connections or anything near the exhaust system. Instead, the concern was dismissed without any attempt to rule out whether something may have been inadvertently disturbed during service. As a customer, that lack of follow-through is frustrating and does not reflect thorough or responsible service. Additionally, my overall experience raised concerns about professionalism and honesty. During check-in, I was told that I would need new wiper blades in order for my vehicle to pass inspection. I was initially quoted $14.99 for the blades, but then the associate realized the correct length I needed was actually priced at $20. I was told he would still honor the $14.99 price, but that the receipt would show the 24-inch blades at the higher price. Being told one thing while knowingly documenting something different is concerning. Given that this kind of falsehood occurred, it raises questions about what else may not have been handled correctly during my service, including whether the correct oil was used or if something else may have been impacted. During check-in, I was also encouraged to leave a five-star review due to the number of one-star reviews the business has received. A specific complaint was even mentioned about the business not having a working phone. However, a phone number is printed on receipts, which would reasonably lead customers to believe they can contact the business by phone. That disconnect is misleading. While waiting for my vehicle, I observed staff engaging in unprofessional behavior, including using profanity and focusing more on social interactions than customer service. After paying $163, even with a $25 off coupon, I am now in a position where I still have to consult with a reputable mechanic to resolve an issue that was not present when I brought my vehicle in, and clearly was not present when the business passed the vehicle for a state inspection. I understand that the mechanical issue may ultimately be unrelated. However, the timing alone warranted a closer look, and I should not have had to push for that level of care. Combined with the lack of professionalism and questionable business practices, this experience has left me needing to seek a second opinion elsewhere, something that could have been avoided with more thorough service and accountability.

I will admit that the claim to 10 minute oil changes seems dubious but you can pretty consistently get out in under 20 minutes unless they're busy. Inspections can be slow because they only use one of three lanes for that, so you can have a line of cars waiting for inspections with two empty bays. The customer lounge is minimal, but at least there's chairs and air conditioning, and really you're not here long anyways. I've never had issues with them trying to do shady upselling like some places (air filters/wipers/etc without even checking.) All around quick and professional service and a good choice.

No expectations I drove from Charlotte to Lexington to be utterly amazed at the professionalism of the employees of TK auto. I was greeted when I first drove up. The staff was super friendly. First glance at the garage bays looked very nice and well kept. I meet Johnny, Robert, Piseth & Brandon and felt confident watching these mechanics work on the cars currently in the shop. Johnny the owner asked me what my symptoms were. A few seconds later after doing a inspection, he came wt a game plan and prognoses. He gave me a computer diagnostic and read the error msgs. Having a German car and knowing how touchy it can be - I was weary at first. He explained what the issue could be, and added they there might be other alternatives that would fix the issue. I agreed the the alternative work repair versus going the other route having to replace sensors and dismantling parts. After Johnnys quick fix, he asked that I drive the car over the weekend and if the check light comes back on the part required has already been ordered and ready to replace on Monday. I am now home and was so pleased that my Check Engine light is gone ! Will continue to follow his instructions and drive the car to cycle the codes and hope that the check engine light is gone to do my inspection on Monday. Very happy to made the decision to solicit TK Auto Repair. Very satisfied with the owner, mechanics and employees. The service and knowledge was very refreshing for once. Did not feel like I was in a corporate chain auto shop that wanted to gauge you. Will repost Monday to give full details on the check engine light and if I passed. Definitely worth the drive !! I've taken it to a few other places to have this issue just placed a damn (trying to keep it G rated) Band-Aid on it. But Country Roads RV Center, their service team kicked that toilets butt. ( G rating ) I had to take in once and it stopped leaking for a little bit but their service tech finally found the problem the second time around! And you want to talk about quick! They got to the problem and THEN I made them fix a few "other issues" I needed help with. And!!! Installed a new kitchen faucet all in one day! Camping world would have taken a days to get this all done! Sorry Camping World. I think I've found another place to get this and that repair or fixed. Hey I just did a review for Camping World too! I delivered my travel trailer to Country Road RV Repair Center in the spring for what should have…read morebeen straightforward service: new tires, bearing maintenance, and a general mechanical review. I was told the work would be 2 weeks out, and I would get a call with any needed work at that point, months before our trip, was perfectly fine - or so I thought . After 3 weeks, I called them, and the tire estimate was double what Discount Tire quoted, and they said I needed a new slide motor. They then ordered it, with an ETA of 2-3 days. After nearly two full months of status updates of "next week", the trailer was still not ready. Estimated completion times came & went, and many weeks later, two days before our vacation, they explained the parts ordered were "wrong" and they would get right on it. I only received updates whenever I initiated contact, which never came to pass. This caused us to cancel a long-planned vacation -- and lose our non-refundable deposit in the process. This experience was not only frustrating but also costly. I have no problem paying premium repair rates and higher tire prices when the work is done correctly, but six weeks late is a bit much. On top of all that, they simply glared at me wordlessly when I finally picked it up and had no further explanations or even an apology when I picked the camper up several weeks late. Just told me the total. To add insult to injury, the owner replied with a fictitious story & timeline, leaving out the fact that I brought in on 6/10/25 primary the tires, bearings, and a mechanical inspection, and specifically mentioned the slide blowing breakers. After I checked in on the 7/11/25 (over a month later) did anyone mention the motor, and said the ETA was 2-3 days, and that work would be done in a day. From that point on, I called for any further updates. Every call was 2-3 days, until we missed our checkin date - otherwise, we WOULD have picked it up.
