We stayed here for 2 nights while in Dingle and while it was a great location we happened to be in on the 2 days where the weather was 12-15 degrees above normal...so without air conditioning and our windows facing east we were hot and sticky and our room was right over the pub with live music til 12:30 so Sleep was rough. The breakfasts were great and the live music we partook of the last night was fun - just wish they had a better way of keeping it cool and less bright in the rooms / they did have heavy shades but with having to keep the windows open to get what breeze we could it created a very bright and since the sun is up til almost 11 it was hard to sleep. read more

A great quiet little pub right by Dingle harbor. The bartenders are friendly and it isn't overcrowded like some of the pubs up on main st.

More like 3.5 stars. We came for dinner at 5:00 on the nose. My wife had the ham & cheese panini, average at best. My son had the fish & chips, it came with one piece of fish that was crispy, he really liked it. I ordered the sea bass with mashed potatoes and some other vegetable I could not identify, I had a few drinks, it was pretty good. The seafood chowder was amazing. Band is terrible. Just plays traditional Irish music (poorly) and acts like they take requests but do not in reality. If song is outside their comfort zone will create an excuse not to play it. We went our first night in dingle and gave them a good tip to play American pie. Played it for 30s and then told us if we sang it the next night they'd play the whole thing. Practiced all day and then came back the next night to play but upon requesting was told "we can't because we are shutting down" then proceeded to play 4 more songs. Very disappointing and I hope they read this and know they lost a massive tip. Will not go back. read more

We had an amazing dinner here! They were very accommodating to us not having a reservation and there was a great ambience as we sat at the bar waiting for a table to open up. The service was exceptional and the food and drinks were all fantastic. Great selection of beers and spirits. Soup of the day was piping hot, flavorful, and came with fresh brown bread. I don't know what they did to the breaded chicken but it was one of the tastiest chicken dishes I've ever experienced. Finished with the table splitting sticky toffee pudding and it was unbelievable. Great pub/restaurant in Dingle. Had a great dinner here. Started with a Guinness and a Dingle Distillery Whiskey, great way to start a meal. I added the Seafood Chowder as a starter. The chowder was full of seafood including actual 1 inch sections of fish, a surprise because normally you only seem to get bit of fish here and there in most chowders. I got the Fish and Chips, they were using Hake. The fish was super flakey and the crust was crispy and held up its crispness even with the malt vinegar liberally spread over it. The chips were also very good. My wife got the Guinness Stew. It was a hearty dish with big chunks of meat, potatoes and carrots throughout. The gravy was perfect. The mashed potatoes with it were a surprise hit. The piece of baguette the serve with it was fantastic. Overall this was a very good meal. read more

Nice spot for lunch especially if you have a large group of 7-8. It is one of the few lunch spots we were able to find at noon on a Monday that could accommodate our group. That said, large tables are limited to 3 and they are first come, first serve. No reservations. Food was solid Irish fare with a number of stews and fish dishes as well as sandwiches and pub food. I got the the Beef and Guinness stew and it was very rich and delicious with a nice mound of mashed potatoes to soak it all up. The ambience was really nice. You are inside a lively pub. While our coach tour spent the night in Dingle, we stopped into Murphys Pub that afternoon for a couple drinks. I knew what I wanted (Guinness), but my wife is not a beer drinking. However, she does like ciders, and they had a couple available. We asked if she could have a small taste of the ones on tap, to decide which one she wanted to order. The Barmaid refused to do it, said she couldn't. So my wife took a chance, and ordered the Rockshore cider, which turned out to be a good choice. We saw her very seldom after that, and I had to flag down another Bartender to order a second drink, and to get our check. Very average experience, but seems like a pretty cool bar. read more

Finding this gem of a place was a happy accident. It was an easy skip across the street from our hotel where we got to enjoy the elusive Middleton whiskey. Service was high energy and stellar, the crowd upbeat and the live band played local music that made our night complete. If you pass through town you should definitely pop in for a drink. read more

The food was good, the service fairly prompt and friendly, and the prices were reasonable for Dingle. We ordered fish a chips (okay), seafood chowder (excellent and full of big fish chunks), and the fish pie (outstanding). All told, including a few beers each, the bill was about 90 euros - not bad for Dingle. The beer selection was narrow, but good, and the bar service was prompt and attentive. I'm not sure there was much of a "feel" to the place beyond being well lit and friendly; if you're looking for atmosphere, there are better pubs in town, but the food is pretty good and many of the more pub-like places don't serve food. read more

First time to Dingle, friends suggest Murphy's Pub. So walking around, getting the lay of the land, and we find Murphy's. So we pop in for a drink...they have Harp!!! We ordered the traditional beef stew and the lamb stew. Both came with mashed potatoes, and both were big enough to share, so we did! I ate half of mine and we switched! The beef was a little tougher than the lamb, but both were scrumptious, with the gravy so good that I wanted to lick my plate clean! The brown bread was fresh out of the oven warm and plenty of butter to slather your bread with! Place is big with table dining and bar dining, big menu to choose from (but the traditional Irish fare is always best), plenty to drink (beer, wine, liquor), and friendly staff that not only had great suggestions of things to do, but just the idle chit chat was great! Found this gem in Dingle! If you ever go to Dingle after New Years you might find a lot of closed restaurants as January is the slow season. No worries at all as long as Murphy's is open. We came in twice and were treated with excellent service and stellar food. Had the mussels (served with house salad and dark Irish bread) on the first trip and let me tell you they were amazing! Cooked perfectly plump and juicy in a creamy butter sauce that we savored to the last drop. We also had a few reasonably priced drafts (5 euro) and finished everything off with the sticky toffee. Delish! On our return visit the next day we tried the shrimp "scampi", not the traditional garlic butter version you would find in the states, these were more like popcorn shrimp (served with chips/fries and salad). The shrimp you could tell were super fresh and again cooked just perfect! Followed up by some simple but perfect Irish coffees. This is one place you should check out in Dingle for fresh seafood and great service. read more

Dinner was excellent. Cottage pie (lamb vs beef) and steak sandwich with fries. I have never tasted cottage pie that flavorful. Wow and double wow!!! We sat at the bar as the locals had all the great seats for their evening pints. Got to try some Redbreast 12 Whiskey. Very good whiskey but again the pints were cold and the people were friendly. This was our first stop for food in Dingle. We tried a few pubs but (McCarthy's, O'Flaherty's) but they didn't serve food. We had the fish and chips and beef stew - fabulous - and of course a Murphy's Stout - yummy. Friendly service. Definitely recommend for a family with kids. read more

What a GREAT find in a really cool town just FULL of restaurants and pubs. We went to this place 2 times in one night and the sweet thing is the staff remembered us. They really treat you like family and work very hard to make sure you are happy and having fun. Food was amazing! They had multiple Vegetarian and Vegan options as well as my wife had the local cottage pie and she said it was amazing!! As executed in Ireland the Guinness was really really good at this place. To the point we were also at a nearby Irish Music event and we were able to obtain drinks from the Murphys Pub. Really really had fun and loved this place... we will be back for sure! Delicious food and great environment. They had a live duo playing Irish music all evening which made for a fun environment while enjoying dinner. We tried the special Hake in Lemon Butter sauce with Dingle Bay prawns and the Atlantic Moray (salmon, prawns, mussels, hake, and everything else in that ocean). Both were so delicious! The hake was amazing; fresh, cooked perfectly and the sauce complemented the fish perfectly. It was my first time having Atlantic Moray and I was not disappointed. Last weekend we went to Dingle and had our first dinner in Murphy's Pub. I give it only 3* because a few bit and pieces were off. Minus 1* For the food : The spicy chicken wings were not spicy and very 'chewy'. The burger and the fish & chips were just ok. Minus 1* For the atmosphere : There was no music as all in the pub, everybody was kind of whispering and it wasn't the best really for an Irish pub. Minus 1* For the toilets and overall cleanliness : Not recommended. Also, the menu was old and sticky. Not very inviting to order your food in such condition. 1* For the seafood chowder : I have to say it was fantastic ! In fairness one of the best I have tasted. 1* For the service : The staff was very nice and that makes a difference. This is a very honest and objective review. I wouldn't go back in fairness. Disappointed by the service. My family entered the restaurant and were greeted by one of the waiters. He asked how many we had in our party and my husband answered that we had 4 in total with a 15 month old baby. He asked if we would like the corner booth with a view of the water and we said yes. He then went to grab menus and a high chair and before he returned, a lady who came into the restaurant behind us went over and stole our booth. The waiter came back and we told him what had happened. We approached the booth to let the lady know we were there first and she refused to move, knowing that she came in after us. The waiter did nothing and sat us at a table in the very back of the restaurant, with no view. The food was good. I would say as good as the Marina Inn. However, from a service standpoint and because of this negative experience we would not return to Murphy's Bar and will eat at the Marina Inn in the future. It's disappointing that people can be so rude, especially seeing that we were managing a baby and were there first. Even more disappointing that the staff did nothing about it. The sign in the front says "please wait to be seated," but this courtesy is not respected or enforced. At the end of the meal the waiter even said that this sort of thing happens all the time, which is sad. read more

This is actually the first time I've felt the need (or taken the time) to leave a negative Yelp review. My wife and I spent a few days in Dingle last week (May '19) and one afternoon stopped in Murphy's Pub for a quick bite to eat. After having the Sea Bass for lunch we started to walk around town (there was a festival going on so it was busy). Within an hour of leaving Murphy's I got violent food poisoning and spent the rest of the day out of commission at our B&B. I struggled to eat anything through the next day. The staff at our B&B were recommending we call a Dr. Murphy's was the only place I ate that day. While I was recovering I checked other Yelp reviews and saw a number of people who had a very similar experience. I wish had checked these in advance. BE WARNED! Dingle has so many other safer (and better) places to eat...don't risk your vacation eating here. read more

Great pub food! We were passing through Dingle with our tour group and were given a couple of hours to eat and explore this cute little town! We had many different food options but decided on Murphy's Pub over other choices because it seemed like it had an excellent menu including vegetarian choices for reasonable prices. We walked in 15 mins before the kitchen opened but the bar keep was very accommodating, letting us sit wherever we wanted and offering to get us some drinks while we looked over the menu. Our tour guide recommended we try the local specialty, fish & chips, so that's what I tried! The fish was perfectly breaded and moist and flavorful. The chips were also delicious. My friends ordered some vegetarian sandwiches and were also very satisfied with their meals. The portions here are very generous. So far, the best, freshest fish & chips I've had in Ireland. They offered breaded or beer battered, I chose the beer battered and it was one large, moist, delicious white fish that flaked apart nicely and tasted grand! Also came with a nice simple green salad.
