I meet folks for dinner last night. The service was good. The food was bad. The salmon didn't even taste like fish much less salmon. I don't know if the protein-- I hesitate to call what was on the salad fish-- was super freezer burned or cooked till it looked like shoe leather and had a nasty tastelessness. I have frequented this establishment for years now. I've been to nearly every restaurant within fifty miles. I've come to the realization that this is the only place around that trains their wait staff. They have great beers on tap as well as a rotating menu that will blow your socks off. They welcome Canadians and will play any hockey game that's currently on tv. You won't be sorry for coming here. read more

Food was delicious and the hostess who greeted us when we got there was incredible and recommended us wonderful drinks and amazing food! However the waitress who helped us after (Brenna I believe) after giving us our food completely forgot about our table it seemed like, she did not come bacK after to check on our drinks or see if we where satisfied with our food and from what we could see just sat behind the bar and ate her own food and again, completely forgot about us. Other waitresses seemed to be paying more attention to us then our own.We eventually after about 40 minutes we had to come to the counter to collect our check and get to go boxes. The reason for my low score was our last trip to Havre this past weekend, April 22nd. There were four adults and one child and decided to go to Murphy's for dinner. All four adults decided to order the flat iron steak which was a real mistake. None of us was able to even cut it up easily and at one point of my cutting the steak, a piece flew across the table. The thicker end of the steak had "pockets" that opened up and gristle of some sort was around the meat and opened up like a pocket. When asked how everything was, we all told our waitress how bad it was. There was no, "I will see what we can do about this" or offer to replace the meat or anything. She did mention she would tell the crew that it was tough because they were hand cut that day. We spent almost $90.00 there so it was not chump change. Went back to our hotel, Best Western which I found out owns Murphy's and the girl there said she would file a complaint on it. Normally, we have the fish and chips which is really good. Should have stuck with that but this last visit really put a "bad taste in our mouth". read more

The best bar/pub in Havre far and away. Great drinks and fantastic bar food. Had the bbq beef sandwich and chicken noodle and loved it.

Service was slow and the restaurant was empty. The cheese on the burger was super hard and couldn't be cut with a fork. There aren't many options in this town so in guessing this is why they get away with poor service and food. read more

Awesome Irish pub with tons of micro brews! The restaurant serves up fresh meat burgers and a few traditional Irish dishes. The Irish nachos are great! First impressions, the place is relitively clean, the american pub atmosphere is Definately here. Casino in the corner. Menu is a mix of weird bar type food some Irish flare thrown in. I went to this place twice while in Havre because it is the nicest restaurant in town. The food is OK; but you can tell it is mostly from a can. The second time I went, I tried a grilled chicken and quinoa salad dish and was really excited for the quinoa salad. After one bite, I immediately realized the quinoa was about 5 days past its expiration point; and looked closely to find mold growing in the salad. I informed the waitress so they could throw away the rest of the salad; but when I got my bill it was still for the full amount, even though I could only eat half the dish (a chicken breast). If you go to this place, only eat the normal fair. Don't expect anything above meat and potatoes. read more

Good spot in Havre! Menu is much better than other depressing, boring Hi-Line restaurants. I enjoy the burgers and salads here. Okay, so if you're looking for Irish food, you might be disappointed at the lack of options on the menu, but if you're looking for great food don't miss this place. We had the Asian Crispy Chicken Salad which was awesome. The spicy Thai peanut dressing was great. We enjoyed it so much the first time that we went back two days later for another one. Their soup of the day was southwestern clam chowder so we split the salad and also got a bowl of the soup. It was spicy and delicious. Murphy's is realistically the only real restaurant they have in Havre MT. The food isn't bad, my burger was tasty. I'm Canadian so ordering "Iced Tea" down there is hard...lol. We really loved the dinner that we had at Murphy's. The service was great - it was a little noisy inside but we were out on the patio. Not the best view since they are in the process of constructing a building across the parking lot. The service and food made up for the scenery though and I would still strongly suggest visiting Murphy's. read more

Great lunch! Ice tea was perfect, the side salad was a delight: baby spinach and different lettuces,a tomato slice and a cucumber slice, and some red onion. Ranch dressing was thick and flavorful. Service was not very good. My steak sandwich was cold when it came out so I sent it back. The menu said it came with a 1lb baked potato, which I planned to share, but it was very small. My boyfriend's sandwich was hot on the outside and cold on the inside, like they put it in a microwave before sending it out. Once I got my newly made steak sandwich it was pretty good. All the food I have had at Murphy's has been good but nothing is fancy and it is a bit overpriced for what you get. The service always starts out good but it seems that after you are served your food they never check back in with you and the last 3 times I have been there I have to walk to the bar to track down my waitress to pay and even then I waited around at the bar for over 10 minutes waiting for them to find my waitress as nobody else could take my money. They are not equipped to handle large parties of six or more as they do not have the table space and the couple of times I have been in with large groups our reserved seating was given away and our waitress was very put out by all our needs. Why the "3"? Because no matter how bad the service may be I do truly enjoy the Crunchy Asian Chicken Salad with the Thai dressing. read more
