There is never a rushed feeling during treatment -he lets the novocaine do its job before drilling . He uses nitrous oxide to help me relax . He explains what he is doing & he & his assistant praise me too during the procedure which gives me confidence . During long procedures he makes sure that I get a bathroom break . I went in for an exam, for an implant and after which, was given a referral to an oral surgeon. I questioned why that they made the initial appointment, a week out and charged for an emergent exam, as well as didn't suggest to go to an oral surgeon. 500.00 for the appointment, that did little for the problem, outside of profiting the dental practice. I have called my insurance carrier to make a formal complaint, also I called Molly Perra at the Colorado Dental Association, and will file a written complaint. I would have written BBB, however Mertz is not a member, understandable so. There should be no excuse for fraudulent, unethical practices, especially when dentistry is a needed service.

The billing has been the worst part; my crowns were high $x,000 in total; some portion of the work was deemed unnecessary by insurance and not covered. Without me knowing about this they tried to dispute it with Delta for almost a year, and then they 'sprung' to my eyes a $x,000 super-late scary "will go to collections charge on me". The problem is they can't produce an invoice, want me to pay by CC over the phone, their email is a somewhat-shady-seeming @gmail.com email address. It took a month to get an invoice produced with services rendered or an insurance breakdown of what was covered. Some yellow flags for me personally are plaques in the office not about Dental achievements but about winning business plan competitions, aggressively cross selling sealants, whitening, sleep apnea treatments, mouth guards, etc. There are multiple signs asking for Google reviews, mentioning staff members by name so they can get $5, and overall for my taste it's a too-modern, over-optimized dentists' office with a D+/C- back office.

Poor Expertise without Integrity The NTI Night Guard that…read moreDr. R. Murray made form me is unusable. After several adjustments, I was not able to wear the guard without waking with a headache. I took the guard into a check up with my periodontist and he informed me that this guard requires a specific shape as to prevent the jaw from locking up during sleep. The shape of my guard is not correct and my jaw momentarily caught on the guard during the exam. Dr. Murray's office is refusing to make good on the guard. They are also refusing to issue any type of refund of the $500.00 paid for the guard.
