In the fall you see an amazing variety of colors that's beautiful to walk around. Dogs on leashes are allowed and they have trash bins all around the park. There are some secret spots too off the path, with wooden benches where you can sit and listen to the running water. The proximity to the library is also a great win! Check out a book or bird watching kit and enjoy the park!

The walking trails are abundant and have decent inclines which is helpful when trying to get in a nice workout. The trails are also paved and relatively well maintained. There are also plenty of benches located throughout the park for those who want to sit and take in the scenery or people watch. I like to visit this park in every season to see which foliage is in bloom. On this occasion I visited in during winter right after it snowed, so all of the geese were gone which is a total plus (they're aggressive)! Families brought sleds and tubes and took advantage of the small hills, perfect for sledding along the waters edge.

At this time the number of ducks and geese making use of the grounds is insane. (Note however, that due to those huge numbers we unfortunately encountered a handful of deceased birds this weekend on our walk.) Frogs, geese, ducks (of many colors), rodents, hawks, eagles, heron, egrets...we saw and/or heard them all during a walk around the inside path yesterday. Truly a special place to watch birds to do their bird things. They've got a decent amount of parking, both paved and gravel. The trails are dirt and gravel and were quite muddy in places this weekend, but the grounds were free of litter.

Koll Center Wetland Park is a great park in the middle of a neighborhood (with businesses on one…read moreside). There isn't an "official" entrance to the park, it's just something you need to know about. My tips for finding an entrance with parking is this: search for Fanno Farmhouse Park on Google and park in the parking lot of one of the many business. The area is full of office type buildings so parking shouldn't be an issue. There is a trail that run by the farmhouse that will take you straight into the Wetlands. Now, when they say wetlands, the truly mean wetlands. If it is raining, you can expect a ton of soggy puddles so stay on the paved trail. The park connects to Greenway Park which boasts a ton of trails as well as a disc golf course so it's a really nice place to go and enjoy the outdoors.

We chose to walk most of the stretch, opting to enter the subdivision at one point to make a bit of a loop of things. The area is quite peaceful, lots of birds to watch. The boardwalk itself was somewhat slippery, and unfortunately we encountered multiple piles of ignored pup poop along the way. Not somewhere I'd go out of my way to frequent, but a nice way to stretch the legs if you're in the area or live nearby.

It's not a greenway in the traditional sense; instead it is a mostly raised walkway trail through a wetland/swamp area. I have to marvel at the determination of Parks & Rec to make this beautiful area accessible to people! The trail runs behind homes, so you'll see residents hanging out or working in their yards. Makes it feel safe and part of the community. Signs indicate that bikes are allowed, but I can't say I would recommend it. Because most of the trail is raised walkways, there isn't anywhere to go if you encounter people, and the pathway isn't terribly wide. Use caution if you go through on your bike.

But I love the space, how much room there is to run and play, picnic benches to enjoy lunch at a table or you can use anywhere on the vast green space to picnic. I also love that this is right across the street from Commonwealth Lake Park, if you want to venture on a walk and see some of the local wildlife, or try another playground. There is always easy and great parking and it's kept SO clean and SO lovely year round. I have 0 bad things to say about this park!!! There are no toilets except for porta potties so if you're okay with that, fear not. But if you're like me, drive the 3 minutes to Cedar Hills Rec to use a real bathroom.

They have good parking, nice restrooms, picnic tables and very much nestled in with nature. The launch point is a bit challenging with not much room down by the water, with the river flow and depth constantly changing I am sure it can be a bit of a challenge for construction. Maybe they can figure out how to secure a good floating dock at some point. The water and natural landscape along the Tualatin River is some of the best. Go north to Rood Bridge park, but around there is a stop because of a damn. So South and you can go miles towards Tigard then Tualatin. Always lots of friendly folks on the water. Best part no motor boats. If you are looking for a great place to paddle, this is a good place to put in. When done and hungry you can swing around the he corner for great burgers at Cruisin' Diner. It would be a five star if the launch point was better.

Access can be from the Waterhouse place apartments, or Hunter run apartments or even from Walker road I guess. You can park in one of these residential neighborhoods. We park somewhere around blueridge drive, then follow the powerlines to the Waterhouse lake. That takes you to a cute little play area. There are picnic tables and benches around there. Very quiet, yet you don't feel unsafe.

It was quite, traffic free, and usually only occupied by a few runners and dog walkers. The park follows the large and rather unappealing power lines through the west side of Beaverton. I actually this this park is a great use of what otherwise is useless space. It is well kept and it can be fun to spot flocks of birds that like to be perched up on the wires. In fall there were a ton of mushrooms to look for and I think I saw at least 4 different types. The pond is awesome and I had a morning ritual of greeting the ducks that were constantly blocking the path, ending up with me getting squawked at frequently. It can get a bit up and down when you cross the through streets, which can be annoying, but it's nice to be elevated too. This park would be great for picnicking in the summer and is large enough that you should be able to find a spot all to yourself without sitting on top of other people.
