It's been about 4 years since I went, but it was a great experience and absolutely perfect to take a date if you're late millennial, Gen X or older. I believe younger adults can have a fun evening as well. I wouldn't recommend taking smaller children that can't sit quietly. The food is satisfactory. Plenty of fatty comfort food items and lower fat/calorie options as well. The deserts all looked delicious and tasted that way. The environment was pleasant and everyone seems to be smiling and enjoying dinner during the socializing portion of the evening. My date and I both took it easy on the buffet and spent most of the dinner speculating on the conversations at other tables and making up life scenarios about them strictly on appearance. The server was attentive, kind and understood when to chit chat with us and when we were in a conversation. The show was fun. It was a Murder Mystery with dark comedy undertones. The performers absolute killed it. I didn't notice one single missed line or stumbling. The show was entertaining and it was fun trying to figure out the murderer with my date. I think it was about $80 for both us plus I left a $20 for the server. Take care of them. They literally just have about 5 tables for a single night and they absolutely hustle and they help in the kitchen and even back stage. I look forward to going back again very soon. This was my first visit to Murry's and I was a little shocked. It cost 35$ for admission. That comes with a buffet.

I went to this place when I was 16 im 47 just went again literally they haven't updated or changed anything. The plays are always enjoyable. The actors and ensembles do a great job and we have always had a fun time watching the comedies in particular. The food is another story. It has really gone downhill this year, 2023. It all tastes like frozen reheated food, pretty terrible. The carving station is gone. They used to introduce the chef and give him a round of applause - no longer do that bc I don't think they have a chef or aren't proud of the food they are serving. On Nov 16th, we attended White Christmas, the play was amazing and such a surprise. It was a packed house. The buffet style food was good, and we really enjoyed the sweet potato's. Took my 9yr old granddaughter to see The Little Mermaid. We absolutely had the best time. Small setting makes for an intimate and engaging experience. Actors frequented the aisles and made the entire room its stage. The food was okay, but not THE reason to visit. Go! No complaints at all...this is SO worth the menial charge for the food, service, and entertainment you get. I honestly can't think of anything it's lacking. We went with a set of friends who have been several times, and now we know why they get season tickets. I saw a few reviews saying the food wasn't great, but everything I had and my boyfriend had was definitely well above average. As a matter of fact, he absolutely loved the fried chicken. Apparently the menu changes with the play, as they try to work the food into the theme. So I guess if you go often, you're not bored with the same food. But again, the food is pretty good....I would choose to eat here even without the entertainment. So it's definitely worth it with the play. The service was excellent. Absolutely professional, friendly and attentive. My friend did make a suggestion that if you book a table, to try to avoid the ones against the wall. The chairs are stationary, yet they swivel, but you can't scoot them closer to your table. Also, these tables are up on a ledge so you can see over everyone, so when you swivel to see the play, there's no floor directly below your feet. Other than that though, there didn't appear to be a bad seat in the house as far as seeing the play. Its very intimate and wherever you sit, you're very close. read more

I give it two stars, only because the show was excellent. The food is always mediocre. But this time, we had the worst service ever. My husband and I were falsely accused of ordering and not paying for a Maker's Mark alcoholic beverage. When the waiter arrived at our table with drink, we told him that we didn't order a drink. This took place over an hour before the show started. We had just begun to eat dinner. The people at the table behind me claimed the drink. I expected the waiter to have corrected the bartender's tab. During intermission of the show, some 2 1/2 hours later, the people across from us ordered Pina Colada's. My husband has been sober (not touched a drop of alcohol) for 16 years. But he doesn't have an issue with me having a cocktail; so I ordered a Pina Colada during "intermission". The lady waitress/bartender brought my Pina Colada to the table. I tried to hand her the money, but she signaled for the male waiter to take my money. He took my $9 for the $8.50 drink, and walked away. To my surprise, he returned a few minutes later and said that I didn't pay for the Maker's Mark drink. I told him that I didn't have a Maker's Mark drink. He looked at my husband and asked him if he had the drink. My husband said, "No, I don't drink." The waiter left. The show resumed. Then to add insult to injury, at the end of the show, the bartender/manager brought a tab to our table and proceeded to tell us that a Maker's Mark was ordered for table 16 and hadn't been paid for. Then he said I spoke with the people at the table behind you, and neither of them ordered the Maker's Mark drink. I was furious, but I didn't want to embarrass my husband, who doesn't curse either. So, I grudgingly left a $10 tip, that they could do whatever the heck they wanted to with it. At the beginning of the night, I was thinking about getting Season Tickets. But that won't happen unless they refund my money ($101) for last night's fiasco, apologize, and ensure that the staff are trained to properly handle mistakes. If the waiter who brought the drink originally is honest, he will admit that we declined the drink. I sure hope he's not dishonest enough to pocket the money from the other table, and not turn it in to the bartender. Nowadays, you never know, but God knows, we know, and the original waiter knows that we did NOT order or ACCEPT the Maker's Mark drink. read more

Last year for my birthday, my bday friends and I went to Murry's for the first time. I've lived in LR for close to 30 years and had never been, so I added it to my AR bucket list. It was a blast! I've been to productions on Broadway and all over the US, and I'm truly a sucker for theater of any kind. And there is a certain charm to this place. I liked being so close to the action and being able to eat from an old-school Southern buffet. Great people watching, too! Tip: get your dessert early--the good ones go fast!!! read more

I have always loved coming here! The food is always amazing, the staff are helpful and cheery, and the actors obviously LOVE their jobs! I went to see an Elvis impersonator once(I was little then) and asked if they would do "I'll Be Home For Christmas" but they said that they weren't planning on playing it since it was after Christmas time but they did it just for me! I would give the food 3 stars, the service 3 stars and the show more than 5 stars... so I guess that averages out to 4 stars. To provide a full buffet for that many people such a small amount of space in that short period of time was impressive but I would have preferred to order an appetizer and drinks over the buffet. Unfortunately I think a lot of people were there for the buffet and not necessarily the show. Too bad because the show was fantastic! We would have ordered more drinks but our waiter was so busy refilling everyone's sodas and coffee that he didn't ask if we wanted anything else. The show was Mary Poppins and I was extremely impressed by the level of talent, the sets and the seating in the theater. Great job! And thanks to the owners for keeping this place going. Me and my husband went here to celebrate our 2 year anniversary and we really enjoyed ourselves. The show was Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None. I thought the performance was quite good, the actors were talented and the props were good. The food was not great, but not bad either. There was plenty of time to eat and talk and plenty of time to get seconds if desired. The water, tea, and coffee were complimentary and the staff would come by pretty frequently to give you refills. We even got an extra free dessert as a celebration of our anniversary. Everyone was perfectly friendly and attentive. This is a place I would recommend all of my friends and family to try if they are looking for something fun and different to do. read more

My wife and I went to Murry's the last two years for our anniversary. I can't really remember the food from last year but I made it a point to try as much as possible this time because I was planning on leaving a review. I thought the food the food was perfectly fine. The kale with sausage was excellent as well as the roast beef. I definitely do not agree with the other older reviews saying the food was terrible; I wouldn't go there to eat BBQ, which was the worst thing I had, but the food was excellent for the variety and taste. The cast worked well together, played off of each other and harmonized well together in the musical we went to see. The only thing I would suggest is buying some hanging mics for all of the stage areas because there are times when the cast talk with their backs turn and you can't hear. The other times were when the cast are on the sides of the stage; I don't know if it's the acoustics of the room or the cast talking quietly since they are talking right over a table in front of them while on the sides. My only real complaint is that it's very tight. The line for the food twists through the seating area and I'd imagine that could be very annoying to have people hovering over you if you had already gotten your food if sitting where the line comes through. The lines are long but move quickly. There is not a bad seat in the house as the last two times we have sat by the wall and have not been disappointed by the view. We would recommend giving it a try and we will be back. read more

Really wish I could break the food portion, staff, and play up into separate reviews, but I cannot, so I will do my best to touch on everything. The food was good. The fried chicken seemed to be fresh. The roast beef was good as well, but maybe some steak knifes for the tables would be nice. Everything on the hot bar was good. The salad bar was a bit of a let down. It consisted of some lettuce and a few vegetables down the line. This is the one area I would rate a 3 or 4. The staff were all great. We were served by a server named Justin. Very attentive and was informative about the history of the play house, as well as up coming plays. The play was great. We watched the play "Out of Order". Very funny and energetic. My wife and I had a great time. A lot of elderly people there, though I would say this was friendly to all ages, though really young kids way not be willing to sit quietly. I am giving Murry's 4 stars because I love the concept of a dinner playhouse, the acting was above average, the venue is fun with good views of stage from most tables, attentive wait staff that work for tips, and an effort to provide buffet dinners that are themed to match the play. Most recently for example, fish and chips, beans and toast, bangers and mash were on the menu for an Agatha Christie play. I'd recommend staying away from the carving items (roast beef and ham when we were there most recently), but the mesclun salad and pasta main dish were quite good. Would be nice if the desert items were just a tiny bit bigger. read more

Just got home from seeing Greater Tuna. I've seen it several times, tonight was good. As far as service, Chloe was nice, but she had to many tables and she could not accommodate all of us. The food was okay, but if you are going to serve roast beef that tough, we need an axe, not an overused butter knife. Lastly, charge me $3 more and buy better chairs. The dinner and play cost $34-$36 and the play alone is $25 - so we didn't expect 5 star food for the $10 dinner price point. If you are looking for top notch food, find a different restaurant that isn't a buffet, but if you want a fun evening, give it a try. back in town for a visit with the parents. Mom got us tickets for the show for Sorry Wrong Chimmey so of course we went. It was $35 a person for an all you can eat followed by the show which consisted of 3 acts. Upon arriving, there is a small line to get in and the crowd is a bit older. Not to worry because once you're in, its quite fun. Food was really good too for a buffet especially. I really enjoyed the cornbread stuffing and carving station. The meats were made quite well. Price includes coffee/tea, all you can eat buffet with salad, veggies and usually two meats along with good selection of desserts. A meh experience-- I would have given it 2 1/2 if I could, only because the play was mediocre at best. When we arrived in Little Rock on our cross country tour, (we always try to see as much theatre as we possibly can,) Neil Simon's rarely produced "Star Spangled Girl" was the only offering in the area on the date that we were passing through. There is a reason why it is rarely produced--not one of his better pieces. We had elected to get the play only ticket, and after a look at the menu we were glad we did. We had a wonderful pre-theatre meal at BJ's Brewhouse instead. Justin gave us good service anyway, and my wife ordered a Michelob Ultra and I got a Top Shelf frozen margarita--it was summer after all and we were just trying to be sociable! It wasn't a bad experience--I just wish there had been more choices in a town this size. So I'm upping it half a star since the choices we made influenced the review: not to try the dinner and the choice of the play. I went to Murry's this evening to see the Wizard of Oz for a girl's night. We entered the establishment and were seated. Then we went to stand in line for dinner, we had to use the restroom and so my friend went first. The place was packed and so she went onto the corner of the stage where a rude and very dramatic employee screamed at my friend " Excuse me you may not walk on the stage, it is a hazard and we are trained professionals" Well that was strike one, very immature and disrespectful to a paying guest in your establishment but we will continue with our night. We went and got our food which was not very good at all but hey its buffet and it is what it is. As we finished eating my friend got up to get desert and then she tapped me on the shoulder and said "is that a roach on the wall?" Well that was not exactly appetizing and I at that point decided I could not handle this and we decided to leave. We went to the front and spoke to a very pleasant young lady and explained why were leaving. SHe went and got the owner and we talked with him, his first response was "We spray every Monday!" WHAT?? Once a week seems to me that you would only do that in a dire situation. At that point he said he would give me a refund, I explained that I did not mind paying for my food but did not see the play. He then said " Well it's a restaurant and these things happen!" Again WHAT??? My friend explained that we normally did not eat at establishments with roaches !! I at that point was just disgusted, now he received a refund but come on ROACHES ARE NORMAL IN A RESTUARANT ??? I just am so disappointed because we both looked so forward to this and I can now guarantee we wont be back ! I would not haven even given 1 star but had no choice. Be careful my friends ! read more
