Our daughter wanted to go in and check out this boutique. Once we entered we met the owner and another lady. We were asked if we like snakes and we responded no and then were met with a hateful response. Both ladies were snotty and rude. We decided at this point to leave and the owner said well maybe BassPro would better suit you all. So today we took our daughter to BassPro and had a great time and staff were super friendly! This is a very well laid-out clothing boutique in Memphis. Everything is pretty, chic, and must-have if you have a few extra dollars. A bit on the pricey side for those who like to keep tops around $50 and under, like me. They carry women's and men's fashion and jewelry, including Debbie Segal, Chan Luu, and Big Star jeans. The clothing is a lot of airy, white tunics for the summer season, coupled with turquoise, rosary-style jewelry, and other delicate charms and chains. I really love Muse. The place is really big, and there are clothes for every occasion. You'll find jeans, shoes, tops, dresses and more formal dresses for special occasions. The shop stocks some trendy pieces, but the fabrics and cuts are always a bit more classy than those you'll find in department stores and malls. I should also note the cute handbags and great jewelry- I could spend an hour gazing at the big jewelry display case in the front of the store. Cute little pins, earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. LOVE LOVE LOVE Muse! Whether you are a male, female, she-male or child if you are looking for something unique and fabulous Muse is your go-to store. Muse is an ultra-chic boutique in the South Main District downtown and they have just about everything. Their jewelry collection offers a must have for any taste and style. They also carry the Virgins Saints and Angel's collection (if you watch the NJ Housewives television show you've definitely seen it at one point or another) which is a jewelry lovers dream. These unique one of a kind pieces feature religious medallions that have been blessed by the Pope (I suppose this is more relevant if you are of the Catholic persuasion) and the sales gal explained that you can interchange the medallions. So if you find a necklace you like, but would prefer a medallion you see hanging on another chain you can simply have her change them out for you. I have quite an obsession with jewelry - and I felt as though I was in heaven. The clothing here is beyond amazing. Lots of flowy tunics and dresses to suit every style and color palette, trendy tights, shoes, purses (oh my purses!) and wallets. I was also quite pleased to see they have a large men's selection. They have some really awesome ties for the stylish man in your life and button down shirts and jeans with that worn-in, ripped style to them. I took notice that a few of the shirts I perused in the men's section were from the Charlie Sheen collection and resembled many of the things he adorns his body with on Two and a Half Men. The gal behind the counter was an absolute doll. She was dressed ultra hip and cute and was friendly as all get out. She told me she was a personal shopper (bonus points to you Muse for hiring someone who can help me dress and accessorize myself) so she has an eye for fashion. While I was paying for my purchases an older gentleman came up to the counter and explained he needed an outfit for his 19 y/o daughter's impending birthday. She happily took him around the store asking him for her size and an idea of her style and helped him pick out something fabulous. That 19 y/o is going to have at least one kick-ass birthday present- and on a side note what a cool dad! The prices are steep- but I come to expect that of boutiques. You are paying for quality and the relief in knowing you won't turn up at a bar downtown to find that 6 other women are wearing the same outfit you bought at Macy's. They do have a bargain section towards the back offering some awesome discounts. I got the cutest pair of piggy baby booties marked down to $5 from $25! Overall, Muse is one of my new favorite places downtown. I will definitely be adding a lot of Muse pieces to my ever extensive clothing and jewelry collection! read more

I went in here once in their old location near the Arcade and walked right back out because everything was WAY out of my price range (even though there were some really attractive items). Now, they've relocated to a new spot, and it appears that they have re-thought their collection. There are still some high-end items, to be sure. If you are a fan of Johnny Was clothing, you know that it is wearable art and priced as such. One of my friends joked that the jewelry items were pirates' gold - a reference to their style AND price, but there are other items that are pretty reasonable and accessible. BUT - for those of us without unlimited spending power, there's a beautiful selection of scarves and other accessories, sweaters, and dresses, as well as a sale rack at the back. The staff are very helpful, and I feel welcome to walk in and browse and see what looks interesting. Definitely check this place out when you are looking for something feminine and a little more special than what you'd find at the mall! read more

Muse has lots of unique clothing items for men and women. Some very high-end items. Most of it out of my price range, but still fabulous and unique offerings. I come here for the jewelry. They sell jewelry by local artists that are reasonably priced. Great items for gifts! First, I want to start out by saying the shop is lovely. I walked in the shop Saturday but was not greeted, only looked at, I am a middle age black women, I continued to look around going toward the back of the shop where there were other women looking at the clothes. Every one in the shop now was white including three other people that came in after me and all were greeted. The middle age white male came from behind the counter to ask if they needed help. He addressed everyone that came in except me. As I exited the store I turned to make eye contact with this person and still there was no greeting. I stopped into this chic shop today and I'm so glad that I did. Not only did I find a truly awesome candle (the "901" if you're interested), the staff were so hospitable and helpful. I'm in Memphis on business, and it being my first time in the area, I wasn't really sure where to go to find authentic Memphian cuisine. This place is AMAZing!! Yes trendy but super classy trendy. Lots of variety and lots of merchandise to choose from. It may be a bit high end but we get what we pay for and the quality of the merchandise is worth the $. You should definitely check this place out.
