Really convenient and a lot of potential, but it was mediocre when the crowds were up.
We decided to sit down because all of our Museum food experiences in Edinburgh had been great. This was mediocre.
We all had soup and a sandwich. The soup of the day was served so hot that one or our group burned the inside of her mouth and couldn't eat it - even after stirring it for 15-20 minutes. The sandwiches looked great on the menu, but the bread was a little tired and chewy. The toast was fine and generally they seemed fresh.
Service was scarce, mostly because their were so many people.
I don't think we will be back, but if you can get there mid week, between rushes it might be good. If there is a line waiting to go in, go upstairs to one of the other venues. read more
