Beware of their rental scams. This is a terrible company with terrible customer service. We rented an instrument last school year and returned it accordance with program instructions (we have these in writing). Music and Arts continued to charge us for rental after the return and refuses to stop. Because no one is available to assist (the 800 number is a joke and the manager at the Marlton store is always "in a meeting"), we resorted to filing a BBB complaint and disputing with our credit card company. Avoid. There are better rental options who won't rake you over the coals. read more

I'm not even a musician, and was impressed with this store! It was nicely organized and I found exactly what I was after - 7A nylon tip drum sticks for the "Big Man" (professional drummer and singer!) While I was waiting to pay, I looked around a bit, and saw a small selection of Funko POPS (a guilty pleasure of mine). I just HAD to buy Cinderella (for me - long overdue to my collection) and Freddie Mercury (for my daughter). The woman who checked me out was very helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. I think their grand opening is on March 20th (2020) - I forgot the flyer b/c I was in a rush on my piddly half-hour lunch. They will be hosting open mic night - cool! read more

Don't believe their website when they say that your schedule can be flexible. They sign you up for a minimum of 4 lessons which can run you about $150/month for 1/2 hour lesson. Also, If you can't make it and call within 24 hours, or you'll lose your lesson time. You have to call outside of 24 hours, then you will be required to make up the lesson. They also overbill you and tell you to call customer service to get it fixed. In addition to that, the lesson rooms are small, cramped, and presents a bad situation if you're concerned about catching an illness or just want to breathe. Don't go here for lessons unless you want to get ripped off. Bottom line...Don't take lessons here as there are plenty of other places and independent teachers that do offer more flexibility. And if you want to do every other week, forget it. Their system cannot handle that type of schedule. Look for a private teacher! Don't get caught up in this racquet. read more

This company has terrible customer service and a knack for charging your credit card. Pandemic shuts down schools, and an instrument mostly paid for in 2019 and pops up again on my CC only I didn't pay close enough attention. I still paid for a drum all during pandemic and we decided to keep it making sure paid in full. I think I am done and move on. Yet somehow their invoices start in 2021!!! I would advise against them for any parent renting for their kid. I can never get anyone to speak to, you make a final payment and they somehow find a way to charge you again threatening collections. I am in process of confirming I did not pay twice as I get I may have made a clerical error, and if due money they are owed it. But, I go online and it shows I owe nothing, but yet get multiple invoices sent to me in one mailing I NEVER got before. Send one more payment and now I get another invoice showing just a few bucks more. WTF!!!! It's rental practice is a scam, the have zero customer service and I would advise against using your CC with them as they will charge it without regard. read more

What a terrible place to do business. If you look at any of my Google reviews you will see only positive 5 star reviews, I never come to bash any business but this one is warranted. I've worked in customer service for over 10 years and am appalled by how poor the customer service is at Music and Arts. The contracts they lock people into are a fraudulent when the representatives in the store don't know the policies. What compounds this situation is the customer service not even showing any type of understanding or compassion when handling a situation. Ive never come across worse customer service in my life. I rented an instrument for my daughter. With the shutdown and pandemic, I was never given direction from the school or the music and arts company with regard to returning the rental. I dropped off the instrument in last march and towards the end of the year I receive a bill. I called Music and Arts and they told me they dont have the instrument. They said I was responsible for it. I told them I dropped it off in march It's not in my possession since last march and why a bill after months. Music and Arts provided no guidance to assist families with rental returns. I simply want this resolved. I shouldnt be responsible to pay for an instrument that was not in my possession. read more

I ordered a rental violin on Sept. 13, 2019. My credit card was charged immediately. I was told by a sales person at the store located in 742 W Rte 70, Marlton, NJ 08053 that the violin would be delivered in a week. I contacted the store to follow up on delivery on Sept, 18, 2019 and they told me that they were having some delays with delivery but promised to deliver by Friday Sept. 20th. Violin WAS NOT delivered. I called the store today, Monday, Sept. 30 because the violin has still NOT BEEN DELIVERED! I called the 1800 number and today they told me that the violin will not be delivered until Thursday. Obviously, this company does not conduct business in a professional manner. If you are looking to rent an instrument, stay away. read more

Marlton, NJ - If I can do a lower rating I would. I never write reviews but feel obligated for those parents that are new to music and plan to rent starter instruments. PARENTS BEWARE, DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST!!!! If your child is musically inclined you might end up renting for years like me and I don't want you in this situation. I have rented for 6 years and accumulated up to $1000 credit towards a new instrument. When I was ready to buy new in June they gave me the run around for months (6 months to be exact) telling me I couldn't put my $1000 towards new. We finally worked things out (no help from their district manager that never ever called me back) after I (no followup from their end) called back every month. I finally get my daughter's new instrument and vowed that I never returned to the place. Nope, immediately we noticed some notes were not working correctly. Not even 2 weeks later I am back in trying to get a repair. I have explained the issue to 5 people now (mind you nothing is ever noted in their archaic system) and now they want to charge me for the repair when its brand new. Beyond frustrated! Music & Arts has been a waste of my time, anger and frustration. I have heard from many others similar stories to mine or worst so this is not a one time thing. There are many other places to rent starter equipment, don't go to Music & Arts. I will be sharing this experience the schools as well. Good Luck! read more

My children have taken piano lessons with Lynn Kaspin at Music and Arts for the past six years. They have vastly different learning styles and speeds, yet Lynn has provided excellent instruction to both of them. Her talent, patience, pleasant nature and professionalism have made weekly piano lessons a very enjoyable and fun time for the kids---so much so that they don't even realize that, technically, it's a class. Highly recommend Lynne and Music and Arts whether your child is five or fifteen or anywhere in between. read more

Be warned if renting for the first time. Do NOT have them add in the extras should your child not love the instrument. They will NOT send you a reminder by which date the instrument is due, so that you can incur additional costs billed to your credit card right after the school year ends. read more

Classic example of hiring minimum wage customer service reps that can't do the job they were hired to do. I rented an instrument for my son from them. Dropped it off on time and received a written receipt. I asked four times if that's all I need and are you sure it will be taken care of properly. I was told four times it's ok. Then of course a month later I get charged for not returning the instrument on time. I call in and all I keep getting asked is where is the receipt to prove I did return it on time. As if they had no way to check and were planning on doing nothing unless I found receipt. Luckily I found it and proved it was completely lack of doing the job on the stores end. Now I've waited a week still no credit to my account. They said it takes 10-14 days to credit. Not sure what could take so long.. Horrible service! Will not be renting from here again. read more
