It was not reversible because I came to the session (and let the instructor know). So, if you have this issue, report it to the studio right away *and the Better Business Bureau*. Just in case this becomes a bigger issue.

There is a very obvious fear among them that if they were to say anything perceived of as negative, the teachers will take it out on their child. They play favorites with the dancers (on this they will merely claim that I am disgruntled or that my child was not at the top - neither of which is true) Parents become unpaid labor as they are pressured to "volunteer" (if a company that's been around as long as Taylor Dance has and can't afford to hire employees, something is very wrong at the top. They very plainly do *not* have the safety of the children in mind and are clearly out for making money only. At the height of the pandemic they did not mandate masks until pressured by the city to do so. At least two of them contracted covid during one wave and were mysteriously missing. One for a week, the other for even longer. Every single parent knew they had covid, but to keep the money flowing Taylor Dance kept it hidden. Special note: When they get a bad review online, they send out emails to the parents asking them to rush and post good reviews to counter-act it. These good reviews are not real. They are from parents trying to please the owners to secure a better standing for their child. I could go on, and maybe I will when I have more time. Final note: There are far more professional and far more caring schools to choose from

I love that classes are drop-in and I've had three different instructors and they were all excellent. I've only taken the absolute beginner, absolute beginner 2, and beginner 1 class. The beginner 1 class was a little advanced for me, but even so, there was no pressure to do any of the combinations that I couldn't keep up with. If you want to really improve your technique, this is the perfect place to do it. Even though it's nice that it's drop-in, I do tend to feel behind since I can't go as consistently. Overall very happy to have this place to go to as an option when I'm in the area!

I have seen several greats here over the years, Jarvi, Slatkin, Ax, Hahn, Perlman and most recently 98 year-old guest conductor Herbert Blomstedt's peformance of Mahler's 9th Symphony (outstanding woodwinds in the Rondo/Burleske; the Adagio was bliss). CONS: Cramped seating! This place was built for early 20th century people who had smaller proportions. Plan on being shoulder to shoulder with the person sitting next to you. Leg room is worse. If you are over 6 feet tall, forget about it. SUMMARY: Actual score is 4.5 stars. 1/2 star lost for the antiquated seating. Otherwise, a very special venue. Worth the discomfort for war horses and special guests.

Parking was a cinch with their parking garage right across the street. The box office was extremely helpful when I couldn't locate my ticket in my email, and answered my general questions. Now, if you are looking for a dinner idea before the show, the Paradise Lounge on the 2nd floor is featuring Abode catering and I highly recommend! The restaurant is elegant but cozy. Isaac was our server and took excellent care of us. Their prefix menu rotates and is absolutely delicious. The house-made sourdough bread was SO delicious, we asked for seconds. The beet salad, which Isaac said he created, was so fresh and the marriage of flavors was perfect. The entrée gives you a choice of a meat or a vegetarian dish, and we both ordered the chicken, which was yummy, and the Panna cotta and cookies were the perfect ending. The Panna cotta had basil oil with fresh fruit and it was a delightful blend of flavors. They also have a full bar, which is a great place to get your drinks before the show to avoid the crowd of the main level bars. Be sure to check out the lounge before your show!

I came here for the first time last night to see a speaking engagement for the show Under the Radar…read moreon PBS. I'm not familiar with the theatre, but I really enjoyed my time here. I got an email about 2 weeks prior giving me the rundown of how things work. They let me know that there's a parking garage right across the street which was very convenient. Admittedly, the front door was hard to find but I figured it out when I saw the line to get in. Going inside the place doesn't have a bad seat in the house. Bathrooms are right there in the theatre so you don't have to miss too much of the show if you need to go. Well decorated and easy to get around. My only complaint was if someone tall's sitting in front of you it can be difficult. Seats could have been off set so you don't have to have this problem. Overall a great experience and the place is a gem.

We've been with VSB for several years now starting when my child was a tiny ballerina at age 4. I…read morewanted to find a studio that had a focus on age-appropriate experiences with good, solid training in case my child wanted to get more serious as she grows, and would be in a spot to foster that. The staff is very talented as they work to grow the dancers abilities, technique, and confidence. They find a balance of fostering a love of dance, instilling structure, and rigor. There has been little to no turnover in staff since we have been there. I think that says a lot. The studio does two full-length ballets every year -- Nutcracker and a spring rotating ballet. These are exceptional productions -- the costuming, sets, choreography, etc -- and it's so wonderful to see kids grow through different levels and parts year after year. It's also amazing that the students get these types of performance opportunities. For the more serious students, VSB has strong company and actual pre-professional programs (many studios just use that as a marketing term, so pay attention to what that means) setting students up to continue dancing either in college or professionally in top ballet companies and programs. VSB brings students to local, regional and national ballet competitions for soloists and group performances. Many students earn scholarships for summer intensives and more intense full-time ballet schools. My child has many dance friends at the studio, and it is a positive experience for her connecting with other dancers across different ages, too. She absolutely loves it. Lastly, the studio space is impressive and well kept. This is incredibly important for safety and the longevity of dancers bodies and feet!

I've found that most places offer either super advanced classes or else super-basic classes, with little in between. Not so here! Denise is very patient, but also demanding, with her students. Several drop-in classes are offered each week (primarily tap, but several others as well) for adults at all different levels. I know there are also classes for kids, but I'm not as familiar with that piece. The facility is beautiful - kind of a converted warehouse setting with several devoted rooms. The studios are also available to rent by the hour to others, which is awesome - affordable rehearsal space is always needed. Anyway, whether you've taken many dance classes or never put on a pair of shoes, reach out and ask what class might be good for you.
