Student and Professional Level Competitors within Michigan and nearby state was able to experience cooking in their updated kitchen. There's a dishwashing machine in every room which makes cleaning dirty dishes Convenient. The kitchen is well lay-out to maximize space which is a good experience for students enrolled here. One gets to learn how to work within restricted area. So far the cleanest and organized kitchen I've seen. The cooler is compact but is wide enough to store a variety herbs, vegetables and meat products. Dishes and pots are well organized in racks. Saw a computer lab, vending machine, lounge area and business office. Parking is next to JC Penny. Students from this school have a positive attitude, especially Justin (friendly and helpful), competitive and have great potential in the culinary industry! To Anyone Considering Dorsey:…read more I was a student at Dorsey in 2009. Tuition for my 6 month program was $5,000. Horrible instructor that did not teach us anything. She just showed up in class. I learned the studies myself from home. Fast forward. Same 6 month program is now $16,000. In 2019 I accepted an instructor position. Three years teaching experience and excellent grades and student surveys where I used to teach. My students at Dorsey are in the A-B grade range. Good instruction confirms this; happily did work from home to enhance the program. It never mattered that I was not paid. It needed to be done for my classes. I always remembered to work hard for them vs my Dorsey student experience 10 years earlier. So overall, as a former student and former instructor, do NOT attend Dorsey. So many issues that a reputable school would not place upon any student. Unprofessional and unethical. How Dorsey remains accredited?? Chapters missing. Labs missing. Equipment missing. Top priority is money. They cannot receive student government loan money (full payment to Dorsey) if not accredited. Quality education matters less. Nothing has changed in 10 years for the better. I would recommend Macomb Comm College. A student deserves a full program and organization. Those loans have to be paid back. The value for your dollar and going into such debt to attend Dorsey? Michigan Board of Education should be made aware of multiple violations. Choose wisely is my advice.

They played as I walked down the aisle, at my reception and after they played their two sets, they spun some rad 80's tunes per my request. My vintage themed wedding was complete....I swear Frank Sinatra (Paul King) was crooning as we got our swing on. Guests raved...and as a bride it was one of the highlights to my big day...I wish I could have pulled up a chair and watched in wonderment with my full attention. If you love the Rat Pack, Count Bassie and, Cab Calloway, you have got to check out RSO! If I was in Michigan, I would go to all the battle of the bands and swing events with RSO, and I would be the first one there. Gary was great to communicate with...very professional...and very helpful! He even got a hold of my venue managers that were a tad aloof... RIP to the sound guy and DJ, Chris Best, he was shot and killed the weekend after our wedding.... Big love to this Big Band!!!

We've been with VSB for several years now starting when my child was a tiny ballerina at age 4. I…read morewanted to find a studio that had a focus on age-appropriate experiences with good, solid training in case my child wanted to get more serious as she grows, and would be in a spot to foster that. The staff is very talented as they work to grow the dancers abilities, technique, and confidence. They find a balance of fostering a love of dance, instilling structure, and rigor. There has been little to no turnover in staff since we have been there. I think that says a lot. The studio does two full-length ballets every year -- Nutcracker and a spring rotating ballet. These are exceptional productions -- the costuming, sets, choreography, etc -- and it's so wonderful to see kids grow through different levels and parts year after year. It's also amazing that the students get these types of performance opportunities. For the more serious students, VSB has strong company and actual pre-professional programs (many studios just use that as a marketing term, so pay attention to what that means) setting students up to continue dancing either in college or professionally in top ballet companies and programs. VSB brings students to local, regional and national ballet competitions for soloists and group performances. Many students earn scholarships for summer intensives and more intense full-time ballet schools. My child has many dance friends at the studio, and it is a positive experience for her connecting with other dancers across different ages, too. She absolutely loves it. Lastly, the studio space is impressive and well kept. This is incredibly important for safety and the longevity of dancers bodies and feet!
