Thank you for your honesty, Michelle. After the wedding was over it took me some time to even want to get on Yelp and write a review... I truly did not want to relive the horrible experience. I think it's time to set a few things straight after reading Robert Kimball's (DJ of Music Express) response. Robert, at what point did I myself (Bride) or Michelle indicate that there was any miscommunication about you not being able to DJ my ceremony and wedding. If you look back in your email's specifically May 12, 2014 to me, you stated you had TWO weddings at wolf lakes on August 30, 2014 not three, as I read in your response to Michelle's review. During our communication in may, you said you would figure out how to coordinate my wedding in, along with the other two. I was much appreciative that you were cooperative and understanding with this whole situation and my Fiancé at the times deployment. I did not know you would not be attending the wedding at all until the day of the wedding when you came to the venue to set up with your assistant. You informed me, your crew would be back later to setup as you were leaving. I had no problem with you not be able to DJ the wedding... Assuming your staff/Crew would be highly experienced in the field, I had no concerns at that time. I noticed as our guests started to arrive, our assigned guest arrival music was not being played. I had to send my mother and maid of honor out to the DJ to ask why the music was not on. Ten minutes before I was scheduled to walk down the aisle, the guest arrival music was played... NOT what was earlier coordinated online with the ceremony breakdown scheduler! One of MANY problems to look forward too. As our wedding coordinator gave the signal to the DJ to start the ceremony, he played a remix version of "Mary Me" by Train... I couldn't believe what I was hearing at this time. As any bride, I expected to hear my bridesmaid's walk down the aisle to what I envisioned for my ceremony. This song had been playing during our girl time, getting dressed, telling stories of mine and Adrian's life together... bottom line, the song soothed me and made my heart fill with joy and happiness. So, to hear a remix version being played, completely devastated me. Your DJ's screw up!!!!!! Robert, if you would like to debate this, I do have a live recording of the ceremony. You are 100% percent correct in your response, the DJ did play the right song, it happen to be a remix version, NOT what was in writing from me! A remix version for a bridal party entrance, really.. come on! Next, lets discuss the appearance of your DJ. He may have been in a tuxedo shirt and slacks, but what is with the Shaggy hair in his face? I have nothing against long hair on men, but during a wedding pull it back and show some professionalism. Perhaps, the hair had obscured his vision and that is why a remix version was played during my ceremony! You also mentioned lighting. I was NOT aware of any issues about the lighting until I walked over to our reception side of the venue. Our monogram was not centered on the dance floor, but instead placed on a side fence out of view. This special touch was a very important detail at the reception. I'am a very detailed oriented individual, so as my husband and I were introduced as a married couple and walked to the dance floor, we quickly noticed there was no Monogram. Not until later that evening did we finally notice the monogram on a side fence. We were extremely disappointed! If there were any issues, myself or my husband should of been approached with other avenues to accommodate our desires... I mean after all it is our wedding. Furthermore, I personally would like to clear up any misunderstanding about the DJ being "yelled" at as you stated. If asking the DJ politely to stop stuttering while on the mic is as you put it "yelling" at him, then perhaps you should get a thicker skinned DJ, who can take polite criticism and apply it to himself in positive mature way. You stated the DJ was unable to continue an upbeat attitude during the reception. Could this be a result of an immature, unexperienced, unprofessional DJ? Then again, this would be my personal opinion, along with 100 other guests at our wedding. We all, bridal party and guests at my wedding, did our best to help the DJ stay focused and motivated. His lack of experience caused severe confusion for my husband, myself and our bridal party. The DJ clearly did not understand his role as a DJ, even after I personally provided a scheduled time line for each event at the reception, as instructed by Robert to do! All everyone seems to remember is, continuously having to go up to the DJ to remind him of the next event that NEEDS to take place. Our time was limited, so timing was crucial for the garter toss, bouquet toss, cake cutting and dancing. It was extremely difficult to enjoy our reception, we assumed as most bride and grooms would, the DJ would keep things flowing, DID NOT HAPPEN! read more

When planning my friends wedding I spoke with a lot of DJ's. Robert actually seemed like the best one out of the pack, so we put down the deposit and booked the date. When the wedding had to be rescheduled due to problems with the grooms deployment, Robert was understanding. The date that the wedding was rescheduled for ended up having another wedding also scheduled for the DJ. He said it was not a problem and would still be there that night. When the time came for the DJ to start music for the arriving guests I poked my head out of the cottage and heard nothing. More than a handful of people were milling about without any background music playing. I went to look for Robert and was told by his assistant that he was not going to be there until later. I was surprised because he had told the bride he would be there. That was the first of many problems we had that night. The DJ that was there looked unkempt and very unprofessional. He spent more time talking to the other person he was with than reading the room and playing the correct music. When it was time for the bridal party to walk down the aisle he was playing the wrong version of the song we requested. He was not playing any background music for the guests while the bridal party was taking pictures. By this time I had heard many comments about how horrible the DJ was and the night had barely began. When it was time for the wedding party to make an entrance he had forgotten our names and by then looked completely helpless. Between the "um's" and "uh's" on the mic he sounded very unconfident. When it came time for the wedding toasts the mic kept going in and out or just quitting all together. The reception moved a little bit faster than what was on his schedule but that was already mentioned to Robert as a probable situation. The venue for the wedding was not lit as well as it should have been. The up lighting that was a part of the package was not placed in the most beneficial spots and there were a lot of dark corners where guests had to walk. The DJ showed no enthusiasm and was not able to read the crowd. He made no attempt to get people up and dance. We spent most of the night wondering what else was going to happen with him. Between the guests comments to the bride about his performance and the serious flubs he made with the schedule it was terrible. When Robert eventually came towards the end of the night it was too late, the damage was done. The bride and groom were absolutely mortified. I helped pay for this service as a gift to the bride and groom. read more

Robert from Music Express was our DJ for our wedding on and he was amazing!!! We cannot thank him enough for doing such a great job on getting the party started and keeping it going all night! Robert actually came highly recommended by friends who attended a wedding where he was DJing and they we absolutely right!! Robert was phenomenal to work with from day one. He responded quickly to any questions or concerns we had about our wedding and he put our minds at ease. He did such an awesome job with the whole flow of the reception.. We were clueless!! When should we cut the cake, garter toss, the dances, toasts, music... He walked us through everything and made our night flow seamlessly. He did such a great job with the introductions especially making sure to pronounce all the names correctly and calling us well in advance to discuss our wedding. He also went over any details we didn't think of.. And there were a lot. He is such a professional and so good at what he does it did not seem like work at all working with him!! The whole planning a wedding process was stressful, but instead of stressing us out more, he got us excited about our wedding day!! It was such a relief to know that we were in good hands with him. Working with Robert was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. We had many, many friends and family tell us how great our DJ was and how impressed they were with the music, reception, and entire night because of Robert. I attended a work event and the Music Express DJ was really, really good. Not only did the guy know how to keep the party going, he also was really attentive to the entire crowd so that he could tell when it was ok to play certain music - we even had an old school moment. I booked the event after shopping around several other DJ's in the area and coming up pretty short. The other place I almost went with was going to charge me almost double and was going to just send over some guy the day of the event. I wasn't going to even get to sample or preview his work beforehand. I came across Music Express when my friend suggested going this route because she had booked with them before. Best decision I've made. The DJ was priced well under the other offer I had and I was able to meet with him - Robert I think - for set up and to give my suggestions based on the crowd that was coming. Not only did the DJ take my suggestions into account (he played one of my favorite songs at request) he just seemed to know what songs to paly to keep the music going and the party upbeat. Everyone that attended had a great time and had nothing but nice things to say about the music and the entire event. I think the DJ MADE the entire event. We were married on May 16, 2014 and had just an absolute wonderful expeience! I cannot say enough about Music Express! I had the perfect experience with using them for my wedding. Robert was my DJ and did a phenomenal job. He met with my fiance and I and guided us throughout the whole process making us feel at ease, welcome and comfortable as we discussed our upcoming wedding. I had very music, lighting and decor requests and which he listened to and made happen. He would actually contact me throughout my planning process, ask questions and send reminders of information he needed for my special day. They made our day great on June 8, 2014. Music Express recently DJ'd and MC'd our wedding. They were phenomenal. The aspect we appreciated the most was the mix of songs played at our reception. They did not simply play two fast than one slow, then repeat the pattern. They truly provided a mix of young, old, fast, slow that truly fit our event and tone of the evening. The guests loved them and we received countless compliments. They respected our requests and handled interruptions, noise ordinances, and surprises with grace and ease. The planning with Music Express was seamless as well. Music Express provides an amazing website where you and your guests can request songs and provide most of the detail of your event ahead of time. However, Music Express still took the time to call a few days in advance to see if anything had changed or if anything on the website was missed. This communication cleared up a lot of potential bumps or hitches, and made the entire thing go smoothly from our perspective. Picking Music Express was probably one of the best choices I made. They provided my DJ, photo booth, and day of coordinator. As it got close to my wedding day, it was clear that having those linked would allow things to go more smoothly since they had all worked together before. Mike, the head of the company even came out of my wedding day to make sure things ran smoothly. Robert was my DJ and he was amazing. It's rare to have a wedding during which the dance floor gets empty for a song or two, but he pulled it off. We gave him a list of songs we liked and he put together a great mix that was reflective of our taste and well suited to keep the party going. Many of our guests told me how great the music was and people didn't want to leave when the wedding ended. Robert was my Day of Coordinator and she was a pleasure to work with. As we talked leading up to the wedding, it was clear that she understood what was and wasn't important to me. We used Music Express for their DJ and Photo booth services for our wedding and could not be happier! Robert, our DJ, was fantastic! Communicating timelines, music requests, and event details through the client portal was super easy and I was confident going into the big day that everything would be handled. And it was!! Robert was extremely professional, polite, FUN and very flexible throughout the evening. We had to change a couple of things during the reception and he was accommodating and totally went with the flow. The best part is that he had people on the dance floor All. Night. Long! He got the party started and he kept the party going, taking requests from our guests and playing all the songs we had previously requested. I would recommend Robert for any event, and would hire him again in an instant. If you are on the fence about doing a photo booth, I say do it! I'm a professional wedding photographer, and trust me when I say that if entertainment is important to you, then your DJ can make or break your reception. Entertainment was one area where we didn't want to sacrifice. So many little things didn't go perfectly the day of, but all anyone remembers was how great of a time they had. Hearing everyone saying over and over how much fun they had, or how they've never had so much fun at a wedding before, tells us that hiring Lance was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. The online planning personal website was so easy and helpful! You can add songs you need to hear, and don't want to hear! It is a helpful tool to help you put down all the needed information for you and your DJ. When planning our wedding music, I had about 75 % picked out but was still having a hard time with some of it. After speaking to Music Express they completely put me at ease, they made incredible suggestions! I found him to be hundreds of dollars cheaper than any other Fresno DJs and still fully committed to providing professional top-notch DJ services. In addition to DJ services, we also rented the AV projector system for a slideshow, the photo booth, and remote DJ services at our ceremony site to have mic and music capability. To see everyone dancing pretty much all night was fantastic, and I can only attribute it to great djs and ample liquor flowing from the bars. We waited last minute to book our DJ for our wedding so we was extremely nervous however we was so shocked. He didn't just deliver, he over delivered much more than we would of expected. He always went above and beyond, He made it his mission to talk to EVERYONE and the amount of positive feedback we got was outstanding.
