This shop is in the middle of Mansfield town center. They stock a really great range of guitars, especially electric. Thats all I really ever look at so I cant really comment on anything else. Only that the staff are very friendly and helpful. The downside, expensive! I guarentee you anything in this shop, you can purchase from somewhere else cheaper. read more

This is definitely the worst music shop i have ever known. Do not enter! My daughter ordered me some music books as an xmas gift. they did not arrive. After complaining at the shop i was assured that i would get the books and that they had had a problem with the supplier. I left my phone number and they assured me that they would be back in touch. I have heard absolutely nothing from them since. They are simply thieves. read more

i bought a mic from here a couple of months ago. Although i spent well over the internet prices, i was happy it was in my hand. however, i got it home to find it very rattley and broke. I twisted it to have a look in side and it was not connected at all. I took it back, and they said i had made it void, when i blatantly had not! they were very rude to me like i was trying to steal something as well! read more

Crap attitude dis interested unbelievable lack of product knowledge which for a specialist of Marshall amps not knowing about the latest products is very poor. Or telling me Why do you want one of them for? Had the attitude of well the Internets not really real were the proper music shop and you should buy from us Very poor :/ read more

History
Established in 1976.
When Music Scene was established in 1976 the shop was very much piano and organ orientated and remaied that way until it passed to it's second owners around 2001. Since then the shop has gradually become more guitar based becoming a hub for local musicians to come and gather, chat about their gigs and pick up a few bits while they're here. Adie & James took over the shop in March of 2014 and are looking to keep Music Scene as the place for all local musicians to come and interact, try out new gear and feel welcome. It's still very much a guitar orientated shop, however we are branching out into home recording some more and focussing on getting a better range of gear in.

I've been going to music scene for the past 4 years, both as a student and a customer. The shop and people are fantastic, always helpful and knowledgeable when it comes to what is needed to get the most out your music experience. Adie is an increadable musician some one you can trust to get you where you want to be as a guitarist, the rest of the shop staff have a collective wealth of knowledge when it comes to the instruments they sell. They always have what I want and if they don't they always go out of their way to get it! There's never any pressure to buy when your in store not like some other shops I've been too, no pushy salesmen just a nice relaxed environment where you can try a guitar or piano to see if it suits your playing style. This music shop is well worth a visit, it may just spur you on to try an instrument that you always wanted to play! read more

I have always bought my musical equipment from here having taken lessons and although, as people have said, it has been overpriced in the past, since the new owners took over just 2 years ago, this has changed. I love the Internet price matching scheme and they're always trying to get the best in for its customers. Whenever I go in the staff are also lovely as well so I would definitely recommend, especially to those who haven't been in in a while read more

Saw a Marshall head online (in stock). Phoned the shop to confirm it's in stock and was told it was. Made the trip over to be told they sold it 6 months ago. Wasted a 150 mile round trip. Not impressed! read more
