We signed up our 6-year old for art classes during the summer and he's really enjoying his time here. Several rooms are separated by age groups working in various visual art mediums (pencil, charcoal, watercolors, acrylics, etc.). The school provides adult, teen and children's art classes...they also offer a portfolio prep class. Art supplies are included with tuition for all ages. Their rates are also very reasonable. The occasion was a student faculty art show and sale which was held in several different interconnected buildings. The student art was interesting and enjoyable; seeing the different modes of artist expression has always fascinated me. One of the biggest thrills was running into John Falato, artist and instructor at the school and having him escort me through the faculty exhibition. His work is clear, crisp and representational to the finest of detail, it's as if you are looking at a photograph. Paier school has had some notable artists and instructors one of my personal favorites is Ken Davies who achieved national prominence with many sold out shows in New York City. Paier School of Art is a little art school tucked away on a side street in Hamden, Ct, but oh what a hidden gem it is!!!

It doesn't really have the same feel as the main campus, but a great place to get some serious work done.

When we arrived the place was beautifully decorated with balloons and a unicorn banner. Camille gave options for unicorn or dragon art project. Went to a party for a 7 year old this weekend and the kids had a great time. The owner was there at…read morethe beginning and did face painting on the girls and then they got it sit down at their canvas and follow another instructor to paint their own picture. We were saying we've never heard this group of girls so quiet. We may have to bring them there every weekend. There was a little confusion on the length of the party and what they were supposed to do. Making slime was part ogoing to be "thrown in", but the party ended and they never got to make it. The party ended after 2 hours instead of 3, but really that was long enough.
