Well, I went into music unlimited in Kingston again the other day, and as usual I get a bad feeling. It seems like I was ian inconvenience rather than a purchasing customer. As far as the major equipment food groups, i.e. acoustic and electric guitars, acoustic drum sets, pics and sticks, strings and things, I think any musician gigging or just for Recreation 90% of the time will find you there what they're looking for or something close to what they're looking for. If you're looking for a bargain? If you're looking for a great price? You might as well forget about it. I purchased one item on my visit and it was 150% higher than I could get on Amazon. They have a Quitman on the back table that they say is reduced in price, I picked up one item and I double checked it online and it actually was $10 more as a used item then a brand new one WednesdayI could guarantee that you can purchase on Amazon and have it the next day. Again the real issue is the negative air space in the store. I felt like I was an inconvenience, Felt like the person or persons didn't need me to buy anything, and then charge me 150% more for the item as I said before. If I could say anything to the owner it would be this, the same items that you're buying online and selling in your store or you're buying from a dealer and selling in your store , we as musicians can buy the same items at the same price and get the same guarantees. This is most likely the last time I even tried to go in there and make some purchases. Little sidenote is that I just purchased a very expensive instrument and all the items that go with it, I would think walking into a store like that the owner or sales associates would want some of that business if not all of it, clearly I'm not that important. read more

Both my kids took lessons here and I've gone the gamut on buying them the starter sets, to the real gear as they've gotten older and more skilled. Never been steered wrong, helpful and friendly staff, lots of selection I think and they stand by what they sell. Been a customer here for years and would absolutely recommend. read more

Another OK music store on the south shore. Good selection of percussion instruments (the main reason I go here). Higher prices than what I usually expect of places like this. The staff could use an attitude adjustment, but then again I usually go there and slam on some drums for a half-hour and then leave without buying anything... so maybe it's just me. read more

Not a bad music(gear) store.I play guitar and have bought my share of gear at the Kingston location,over the years. The guys that work there are pretty friendly and helpful.Their prices are usually higher then some of the bigger competition,especially on-line stores but they will match prices with proof. read more

good selection for a small shop, nothing but good things to say about the staff. the tech Jim C is very helpful and reasonable... hes often stopped what he was doing to help me with quick repairs free of charge or next to nothing. It's amazing here, they let you just walk in play some instruments and leave! And they have some nice sounding durable cheap guitars. I got my amp cord here and I came here ever since. Some of the staff has to lighten down on rules but other than that the people that work there are great and nice, I highly recommend this place for ukulele guitar,bass,violin,keyboard,drum,clarinet,tuba,saxaphone,and trumpet players. This is one of the great stores on the South Shore. I hate dealing with the big corporate stores and will not order stuff online. They carry most of the big name brands like Gibson, Gretsch, Jackson, Schecter, Taylor etc. They do not have Fender but do sell G&L so this more than makes up for it. The staff is very helpful and if they do not have something in they will order it. I know some people have said that the prices are higher but I have not found that at all. The prices are competative and if they do have something listed for more than say GC, they will match it. If you are on the South Shore and are looking for a good music store that carries everything from guitars to band equipment, you should really check this store out. read more
