My almost 3yo has been attending the Junior Music class with Ms. Christy since April. It took several weeks to get used to the routine, but she loves it and looks forward to class every week. She has grown so much in her confidence and encouraging the others in class. The class routine is pretty consistent, but the type of music changes every several weeks. Currently, they're doing a world music series. Previously, it was jazz, for example. They sing a welcome song, learn solfège and rhythm patterns, and sing a song with egg shakers to practice rhythm. After they have an instrument of the day (drums, voice, guitar, bells, etc) followed by open instrument play/ exploration. Then, out come the scarves for dancing at various speeds or pretending to be different animals to the music. To wrap up, they sing a lullaby to little stuffies to calm down before singing the goodbye song. It's organized chaos, and it's awesome! read more

I found Musicologie simply because my child's daycare is in the same parking lot. I inquired about school-age lessons for my kids but ended up taking Private Adult Voice Lessons! I started 30 min lessons weekly in Feb 2020. Thanks to COVID19 my lessons are now virtual through Zoom - and may remain that way for some time. Cost - I like that my rate is monthly ($138/month) and I have flexibility on their app to adjust my lesson as needed, to cancel or even book a makeup before/after my current sessions so I could take 1 hour total. For the time I get, I feel its a good price. Performance opportunity - back in June there was even a Zoom student recital, where I performed a song I was working on. It was all other adult students (and not children- but they have recitals for them as all) and included a variety of disciplines like Piano, Voice, and Guitar so made for a really nice concert. I hear more opportunities like this may arise and has been really fun to invite friends/family from afar into my voice concert because it's virtual and not in person. As an adult student, Regan Tackett has been incredible and I couldn't recommend her more. Not just for the motivation but for really working with me and pushing me vocally to grow. She has also offered great advice on other songs she thinks might fit my range. When I finally get my kids involved they will go to her as well. Can't recommend her more. read more

I have been really pleased with Musicologie's instructors and staff. We started at the Grandview location then moved to Westerville (closer to home), so I can speak knowledgeably about both locations. The transition from Grandview to Westerville was smooth. Owners/managers are responsive and accommodating. We have our elementary-aged daughters in lessons for guitar and piano, respectively. We were able to maintain Christy (piano) but transitioned from Nate (guitar) to a new instructor (Tom). One note about Nate: after my daughter's first lesson, she was so excited about learning something on day one that she insisted on getting her own guitar that same day, and the rest is history! She was instantly excited about learning something new! Tom picked up right where Nate left off, and my daughter's eagerness to learn never waned. Both Tom and Christy (piano) are unique in their instruction style, but equally very professional, passionate about music, and patient and fun! Both my daughters get what the need as far as fundamentals yet they get lots of room for creativity and improvisation. Christy sings while my daughter plays. She has a blast with Christy! My daughter in guitar has been inspired to write songs! I'm also tickled by Tom's wide range of music (teaching chords from the Doors!)Their growth musically has been so impressive within a short span of time. Love it!! read more
