I'm so glad I called! This is the place to go if you're serious about getting a nice piano. Thomas took the time to explain the many differences between the pianos in the various price ranges, right over the phone. He encouraged me to come in and feel and hear the differences for myself and I'm glad I did. They have every model of Yamaha pianos(which is what I was looking for.) When I got to the store, Nathan showed me all the things I was told about and then so much more! His professional experience and eagerness to help me find the perfect fit for my skill level, price range and goals was refreshing! I wasn't being sold a piano. I was being given a tour of all of my options with a wealth of knowledge to guide me through what could've otherwise been a very stressful decision. I found the perfect fit for what I was looking for and I'm so happy I didn't just go buy what I thought I wanted, originally. The piano I purchased is more than what I came looking for, in so many ways and I'm so happy with it. It looks great, feels great, sounds great. Most importantly, I love playing on it! Our experience with Solich was nothing short of ideal. It is our pattern to purchase an acoustic piano for our children once they are established and have children of their own. We've purchased pianos in the West, in the South, and now in Ohio. Since we live out of state, I contacted the Solich Piano Company in advance of our visit through their website. Kyle Merritt responded promptly with a number of options that fit our purpose and price range. He touched base with us the week before our arrival. Prior to making our way to Solich, we visited another major piano company in the area with mediocre results. When we arrived at Solich Piano we were greeted by Thomas Solich. He guided us through the options and worked closely with us to keep the purchase within our budget. I can not say enough good things about this store! I purchased a Yamaha Avant Grand N1 through their layaway program with Nate. About two weeks later the price of this piano on Yamaha's website dropped a few grand. I contacted Nate through email because I felt like that was kind of strange that they wouldn't know that and that I felt slightly cheated. Thomas, the owner, reached out to me within an HOUR to say that they would honor the new price and explained that while they are the only local retailer for Yamaha they do not have any insight in to price drops Yamaha may have ahead of time. He apologized multiple times and assured me that his wish is for me to be a satisfied lifetime customer with them. Given the level of personal attention my problem had, I will certainly be returning to them when I upgrade to a gorgeous Yamaha Grand Piano in the future! I can't wait! Just bought my dream piano, a Yamaha CLP 795GP, from the Columbus store and am VERY excited about owning such a lovely instrument!! Am located in WV where there are no Yamaha flagship stores, so all of my fact-finding and purchasing details were conducted over the phone. Nathan Anders was the one who picked up, and it was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. I'd done some research but had a lot of questions, and Nathan was particularly helpful in educating me on sound and touch nuance differences, particularly between the 765GP and the 795GP. But more importantly to me, he remained patient and totally engaged throughout our lengthy conversation. He also helped me get a super price! I was excited when I saw the storefront..very professional looking store...as soon as I stepped inside I walked around and was greeted with much skepticism as I began to walk though the showroom. After no more than two minutes of feeling out a baby grand. I was asked to leave. NATE SAW A YOUNG PERSON OF COLOR AND ASSUMED I HAD NO INTENTION OF BUYING. So much for me wanting to support local music. I would love to know how this interaction would've played out differently if I were middle aged and white.
